I've been a patient at this dentistry for 3+ years. Never had a problem with this place or its employees! Doctor is very caring and explains everything throughly. Answers any questions or concerns without hesitation or pushback. All employees are very kind and check in at all times to make sure you're taken care of. If money is ever an issue, they will work with you on payment plans if needed. Wait times are amazing! I'm never waiting to get called in no more than 10 minutes from the time I check in at the front. Of course this is MY experience but I would definitely recommend anyone to come to this dentistry!! read more

There are better options available. The Dentist seemed to be honest and straightforward, however as time went on there actions proved otherwise. I thought this would be my dental office for a long time since they were so convenient from my home...oh well. read more

Just an update from my last review. They have moved location from my last post so it's NOT hard to find anymore at all!!! Ive been going to Eco Friendly Dentistry for the past 8 years for a reason. I love the Dr. Mataria, his amazing team and staff. Everyone there is so professional, friendly and accommodating! I love how comfortable I feel when I'm there from the moment I want in, until I exit the office. The staff all remember my name and do a great job and ensuring I feel looked out for. I also love the expansion of the space! It's so cozy, not to mention all this new high technology that is included in the upgrade, AND it's part of my normal office visit. 8 years later, no cavities or surgery or anything. My previous dentist sold his practice to Eco Friendly Dentistry. I must admit I was a little bit surprised when I initially walked in. My previous dental staff were African American, but I don't like judging a book by its cover. I'm happy to say that I LOVE MY DENTIST OFFICE!! And I would never go anywhere else. They have become my extended family. They care and it showed on the first visit. I'm not just another patient, I am a friend and because of that my oral health has improved tremendously. It's easy to make an appointment and I get several reminders before my appointment all the way up until 2 hours before my appointment. Highly recommend. And bonus they will play whatever music you like while they work on your teeth. It relaxes me. read more

Read this review before you make an appointment! ALL Chicago Public Schools employees check out this review before you decide on allowing this dental office to provide your services. I received a call from this office to cancel my appointment the day of my appointment on October 30. I believe it was Lorena because when the scheduler calls you they are friendly enough to know their patients. I have been at this office enough times to know voices. Needless to say when the appointment was rescheduled for today, November 19th at 9:00 a.m. the office was closed. There were three (patients) of us outside in the cold waiting on our appointments. However 2 out of 3 of us were acknowledged of having an appointment today. At around 9:15 or so I was acknowledged and asked by my name Ms. Boyd did you have an appointment today. I responded yes and told Lorena that it was upon the office's request to reschedule and this was the date. She proceeded to tell me that she didn't have me scheduled today or at all this week. When I asked to speak to the office manager whose name is Jackie she was not in the office. Lorena also stated that she was unaware of the rescheduling but was not admitting that their office called me, cancelled and rescheduled. And she didn't attempt to accommodate me for my inconvenience at all which I felt this was purposefully done. Especially since she could recollect when I cancelled and rescheduled my appointments in the past. I thought that this was odd too when she accused another co-worker of contacting me and rescheduling me. Is she the scheduler or not? Right? We pay for our insurance and we work hard at Chicago Public Schools as public servants. We are city employees that deserve to be treated with respect and as a reminder we are the clients, patients and paying customers. Reconsider another dental office servicing you! Get names of who takes your appointment. I was able to look at my appointment book and still the office denied the cancellation and rescheduling. How about this they never acknowledged errors or tried to resolve which adds up to poor customer service! Use the power of your voice and the pen! Don't let anyone take your time, your money and your insurance for granted! My dentist - Tariq Riyal is no longer there. And the office is under new management...which means find a new dentist! My family has been going to Eco Friendly Dentist for almost two years and in those two years I have had no problems. They were friendly and quick! Well I guess my long good streak has ended..... Yesterday I took my 5 year old to have two cavities removed. I got there at 10:30am and my appointment was not until 11am. After only waiting 10 minutes I was called to the back. I was extremely happy thinking I had plenty of time to take my son back to school by lunchtime, grab my self some lunch from Jamba Juice (right next door) and go back to work. Boy was I wrong. I went to the room at about 10:45am and the dentist walked in the room at 11:35am. Now what pissed me off wasn't the fact that I was waiting because technically my appointment was at 11 and it only had been 35 mins ( which is super long when I'm use to waiting less than 15), it was the fact I was put in this tiny room with my 5 year old and left there without letting me know what was going on ( they put sponge Bob on the TV for him which I appreciated). The dentist assistant came in the room several times and didn't say a word. I felt my blood starting to boil but I calm myself down. The assistant came in the room and put these protective glasses on my son so I thought finally! Were about to start! But we didn't. I took the glasses off 10 mins later. 5 mins later the assistant came back in the room so I asked how how much longer before the dentist comes in. She says in about 15 or 20 mins as if it was nothing. When the dentist finally came into the room after almost an hour of waiting I expressed in a professional manner why I was upset. They apologized and began the procedure. Now before the procedure started I was told my son may need a possible 3rd filling but the dentist wouldn't know until she got in his mouth. He ended up having a third cavity and needing a filling but since they were backed up they couldn't take 10 mins to do the third tooth so now I had to make another appointment to come back! Now my son took the procedure like a champ(for the most part)! But how the hell am I going to convince my 5 year old son to do it again!? To be continued..... read more

I must say that I'm very skeptical about dentist. I went in to have my first root canal. The dentist explained every detail to me before he got started and also mentioned that if the tooth wasn't worth saving he would let me know, which was a + for me because sometimes it feels like dentist are in it for the money. He made sure I was totally numb before continuing, very patient and I didn't feel pressured to make any decisions.THE WHOLE STAFF WAS GREAT!!! I totally recommend this dentistry if you have any fears. read more

Dr. Mataria, Jenel, and the rest of the staff are very professional; they created a welcoming environment and positive dental experience. It was the best dental experience ever! First of all, I was greeted very professionally and kindly upon entering the office- I know that should have been expected, but I've been to some places where greetings are uncommon. Next, I was called into the examination room less than five minutes after my arrival. An on- time dental visit?? I know, I too thought that didn't exist. Last, Jenel, the dental assistant, was very kind, gentle, and professional. The dental hygienist was knowledgeable and very explanatory regarding each process of my dental cleaning. Dr. Mataria has an excellent bedside manner- not sure if that applies to dentists, but hey, I felt very comfortable with his expertise and look forward to my next visits. I left the office with a detailed treatment plan which included costs, insurance coverage, and procedure dates-information I didn't have to request. read more

This doctor is AWESOME! I had 3 teeth extracted all at the same time. I have not been to Dentist in along time due to previous traumatic experience. But I must say that this Doctor was great. He is very efficient, and fast. He numbed me and was very compassionate to make sure that I was not in any pain, and and gave my more meds until I was completely numbed. He explained his treatment plan and advised me of the order of importance of each procedure. The ladies in the office are very nice and informative. My insurance was processed and I was aware of cost before any procedure had been done. Not to mention that the doctor has a fantastic bedside manor. I would absolutely recommend Dr. Ahmed Mataria. read more
