If I could give negative stars - I would. They ask you to be there several hours before your surgery but then you sit and wait to closer to the actual surgery before even being called back. Upon check in, they ask you to pay for a service that has not even been given yet nor has a claim gone to your insurance company. when you do get a bill, they do not send you an itemized bill, nor do they tell you that most of their surgeries are at a set rate. ( it is also not known what those costs are till you get a "statement". When ask to break down, they send you the same "statement " and tell you when you question it -- that is itemized. Same charge - 3 X with no explanation. Never again will I use this facility. read more

Ive had a few procedures in my life and in my opinion, this surgical facility undoubtly deserves 5 stars. My encounters with the staff were all extremely positive. All were competent in their positions, courteous and professional. The medical care followed SOPs to confirm proper delivery of care. The Drs and Nurses and support all communicated closely thereby avoiding any potential issues of which there were none. My procedure was only slightly delayed but I exited on time. While some had complaints, I absolutely have none. I would chose a good Dr and leave your care in their hands. Highly recommend Dr. Tran and her "A" team! read more

Everyone I encountered throughout check in, prep, procedure and post was professional, knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. The entire process was very well coordinated, and everyone on the team seemed well trained and working well together. I had a minor medical emergency as I was being prepped for the procedure, and through the entire incident, there were 3 nurses hovering over my bed, all making sure it was quickly and effectively taken care of and that I was comfortable. I was really impressed by how much they cared, how effectively they resolved the issue and made sure I was comfortable, and how well they all worked together. We had to sit and and wait quite a while prior to check in, but that seems pretty standard at any medical center. The only other negative is that the parking lot is really too small for the building. There were cars hovering, looking for any space that might become available, both when we arrived and when we left. Fortunately, turnover in the parking lot appears to be pretty active, so I'd suggest just plan to arrive a little early, be patient, and something will open up pretty quickly. I hope never to have to visit a surgery center with any frequency, but when I do, I'd be perfectly happy with this center. read more

A terrible place. Don't go there. I was given a drug on my drug allergy list and one that interacts very seriously with my other medicines. After they were notified that I was made extremely sick because of it, never called to check on me. Wouldn't return my phone calls. It was malpraction and they didn't even care. read more

This was the worst experience I have ever had at a surgery center. If I could give it zero stars, I would. First of all, I was scheduled for a 9am arrival and was called on my way to the facility to tell me not to come. The message said, "We don't know why you were told to come at 9am. Your procedure isn't scheduled until noon. Please don't come until 10:30am. Well, that was a blatant lie. When I called I was told that the surgery prior to mine was taking much longer than expected and the doctor needed to push back my procedure. So two different stories. I was furious but that wasn't her fault. Here's the problem: When I asked when I should arrive they couldn't tell me a time. Now I was going to wait for a call for a new arrival time and I am a Type 1 diabetic who was fasting. This is not ok! Wait, it gets better. When they called me an hour and a half later they informed me that the next patient after me for surgery was already there and would I be willing to go after them. Seriously? They told me not to come! I refused and headed over there only to wait for 2.5 hours more until I finally went in. To add insult to injury, they wouldn't let me keep my phone in the waiting area so I could keep an eye on my blood sugars. There was literally a bag with all my clothes and shoes sitting there but they took my phone and locked it up, again, knowing I was a Type 1 diabetic who hadn't eaten for 18 hours. Ok, so the procedure went well and I went home. Now, hours later I am sitting at a 300 blood sugar because they must have given me a steroid shot while under anesthesia and didn't bother to tell me. This is going to cause me major insulin resistance for 3 days minimum and will severely impair my healing as a result. So terribly angry and disappointed in this horrible care. Oh, did I mention that they called in two scripts to my pharmacy that weren't for me? I called them to inquire and the admitted it was a mistake and probably for a different patient. Very comforting. Just to call out a few really "special" people who made my experience the worst it could be: No thanks to Stephanie, the clinic manager and to Dr. Foster the staff anesthesiologist who was both ignorant and a pompous ass. read more

All's well...that ends. Visited early today, accompanying my wife who was there for a medical procedure. Although the day ended well, it began doubtfully as we tried (unsuccessfully) to phone the center regarding an issue. We had received very thorough prep instructions and facility information beforehand -- with one glaring exception: the phone number listed for the facility (on the instructions packet) led to an automated response: "that doctor isn't in our directory." This is not a comforting way to begin facing outpatient care. Nonetheless we arrived at the appointed time (which was an hour and a half before the scheduled procedure). Check-in was accomplished (3 minutes) paperwork was reviewed (5 minutes) and then we waited about 30 minutes...the rather dingy waiting room with worn, hard seats did not afford much comfort. There was one TV running inane morning TV talk shows, another one quietly sporting local ads. There was free coffee available from an air pump thermal dispenser, and a big pitcher of cold water, replete with ice. There also is a children's waiting are slightly apart from the main waiting room, accessed via a large open door. One the positive side (the stuff above wasn't any really big deal, now was it?) 1. Very friendly & congenial staff...everyone with a warm greeting and a smile. 2. Really good good, albeit unsecured, free WiFi. 3. Doctor and nursing staff were quite caring and considerate after all was said and done. They promised to follow up with a call tomorrow. Good experience - but ... for the record, the doctor "not in the directory" was, indeed, the one who performed the successful procedure. Just don't try to call him beforehand. read more

The staff and nurses here were friendly and efficient. The facility was clean and the waiting room was bright and comfortable. Because of a cancellation, my procedure had been moved from 7:30 to 7:00 am. which was great for us. My only complaint was that after I talked with the doctor, the pre-op nurse started rushing me. It was not her fault, I felt the Dr. wasn't really being fair to only give her 5 minutes to prep and start IV. She said I had 2 minutes from the time he left to go to the bathroom and get changed because he was waiting in the OR. Sorry...but I think patient safety should come first and rushing causes mistakes. She did the job just fine, but I felt sorry for her having to rush. Post-op was fine. They gave me a snack bar and a drink and some pain meds. Post-op nurse was able to get me out of there by 8:30 to make it to breakfast at the hotel which was served until 9:00. They called me the next day to see how I was doing. I just got a Stay Healthy card yesterday signed by all the staff who worked with me. Who does that? Overall, it was a good experience. read more

If I could give a -5 I would!! It has been an absolute nightmare dealing with this facility!! When I went to have my surgery the very first thing they did was lay a bill in front of my face and say pay it or no surgery.. mind you I have full coverage insurance. Thank goodness I refused to pay the full amount amount as I thought the amount was incorrect! Insurance needs time to adjust as claims come in etc! I did however pay them over $2k that day.. they have been harassing me ever since, telling me I owe one amount when my insurance is telling me something different! They refuse to listen or even try to work with me! I want to pay my bills and what I owe but I also don't want to overpay as I have so many times!! I will also be filing a complaint with TN department of health!! I suggest you have your surgery elsewhere! read more

An excellent place for the type of procedure I had, a colonoscopy. They were very professional, Each nurse, technician, Doctor and every person at the center was very helpful, caring, and patient. They each introduced them self to you immediately on meeting and asked their question in a patient manner allowing you time to think through each answer and finish before going on to the next question.I did not feel rushed. Even though they were extremely busy and needed to accomplish a lot of items in a very short time. They let you know that you would not be rushed. Bottom line, the procedure was accomplished in and timely and very professional manner. read more

WOW, this place was the epitome of professionalism and I can only hope other similar businesses could duplicate the caring and comforting service I received here during a recent colonoscopy. From the receptionist to the discharge and all personnel in between, the service was exemplary. From the explanation and prep for the procedure to the review with the surgeon before discharge, I cannot think of a single instance where the top professionalism was not displayed. I can in contact with at least 10 people during the procedure so I am not making these compliments flippantly. They were all the kind of people I always want to encounter when having a medical procedure. read more

Watch out! Totally dishonest place. Went in for a preventative colonoscopy cancer screening and arrived the morning of the procedure. Paid my pre-authorization fee and while filling out the final paperwork noticed a checkbox with some verbiage mentioning that if a polyp is found insurance may treat as a surgery. After the procedure sure enough they changed the medical coding from preventative screening for cancer to a surgery. Instead of insurance covering it as preventative I got the bills. Called several times to try and straighten everything out with insurance, my doctor, pathology, and Cools Springs and received horrible customer service. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone. I actually believe they are committing fraud. read more

worst experience ever. i went in for a minor surgery and left with major wound without any stitches, pain medication, a health plan for after care or any regard to my physical or mental state. i was in no state to be operating a car and did not ask me how i was getting home, but booted me out the door. unprofessional, inhuman, utterly disgusts me another human-being could be so careless with anthers life. read more

Surgery on September 1st was great, Afterwards has been a nightmare. After paying $1200 the day of surgery, I discovered my insurance paid the entire bill in full. That's when the problem began. My insurance company sent the payment to Cool Springs on October 9th. On October 27th I was contacted by Cool Springs Surgery Center stating my personal payment would be returned. It is November 28th. My third call requesting the payment. Have been told it take up to 30 business days to process. After much discussion the account representative put me on hold. I was told my check had been mailed on November 27th. I have not received the check. If it was mailed they could have looked at my account and said so at the beginning of the phone conversation. IF I do not receive it I have to wait THIRTY more days before a check will be reissued. read more

Beware of the this place which sends extra bills after paying what has been accepted and won't accept to what they said and sends the bills for debt collector who charges 40% extra over the bill sent. Also the accounts dept will hung up on the customer calls and tries that it is patients mistake. I will be requesting my doctors to refer me to another place if any of those services required due to these problems. read more

I had previous surgery at a local hospital and felt rushed but at Cool Springs Surgery Center, the procedure is seamless from admission to discharge. The front office staff were extremely polite and explained everything in detail. The pre-op nurses, anesthetist and counselor were professional and very warm and courteous and my doctor also explained the procedure I was about to have in detail (he had already done so at his office the day before). Surgery went very well and the discharge nurse was very helpful describing my discharge orders. They called the next day to see how I was doing and also sent a get-well card which is a first! My doctor also called and this was very comforting as there were no problems whatsoever post-surgery. Highly recommended and should I need surgery in the future, it will be here instead of a hospital! read more

Overall, my experience with the center was great. My doctor is phenomenal, the front desk staff was pleasant, my pre-op nurse (I believe her name is daniellee) was awesome. The ONLY problem I had the entire visit was my post-op nurse. I had a few different procedures done, one of which was my bladder. I woke up from the surgery and almost immediately needed to urinate. I asked my nurse if she could assist me to the restroom. She said "they drained your bladder with a catheter before they were done, you do not have to urinate, you just feel like you do" (with a very rude/negative tone) I waited a few minutes to see if she was in fact correct, but once again I told her that I needed to actually urinate. This time, she turns to me and says "there is a pad underneath you, if you need to go that badly you can urinate there" (ON MY BED) she rolled her eyes and walked away. I decided to hold it in instead of humiliate myself, which was causing discomfort and pain. She comes back into the room a few minutes later with my medication scripts. There was a slight problem with the name on the prescription, so I pointed it out to her. Her response was "I don't know what you want me to do about it" as she once again rolled her eyes. It was a simple "problem" so I asked her if there was someone else I could speak to about it, she said "nope". I asked "is there a reason you are being so hateful?" And she started to laugh and roll her eyes once again. At this point I was completely fed up with how I was being treated by this nurse and I called to another nurse ( who ended up being the charge nurse) and I told her that I need another nurse. She came into the room (while the hateful nurse was still present) and asked what the problem was, I explained it to her, once again with eye rolls and rude behavior from the previous nurse while she listened to my explanation. Luckily the charge nurse assigned me a new nurse, who was fantastic!! She was very friendly, and professional. When she came into the room she asked me if I needed to urinate yet, because she could not let me leave until I did to make sure my bladder was functioning properly. Not sure if the previous nurse just didn't want to assist me to the restroom, or what.. but to summarize, great facility, great doctor, procedure went as planned, all but one nurse was outstanding! read more
