There's lots of open green space with many picnic tables and benches throughout. There's a play structure for kids as well. Also, there's a Bandshell there. When my husband and I were last there, there was one of those travelling amusement parks set up, but it looked like it was over and they were starting to tear it down. Lots of free parking by the Civic Complex and a few more spots down by the water.

As a campground: I have seen much nicer grounds. I am camping with a tent and I am use to having either a nice view of a lake/river/forest or at least a privet site surrounded by trees so I feel I have privacy. This is not the case here, or lots are small, one next to the other and very exposed. We choose the river view and found ourselves with a nice view BUT between us and the river there was a parking lot and cars up to 10-11 pm still arrived to drag the boats out of the river making noise and destroying the entire fun camping feeling. The washrooms was only one row above us but we had to do a big detour since there is no way to cut via the other trailer plots. Overall a bad camping experience. As an Hiking site: Cool trails inside the swamp. There is a beautiful 1.5 Km small hike outside the park (no need to pay) the trails inside the campgrounds are not well maintained, and the marking is not that amazing. They are not long and you wont get lost completly but you will or might lose your way here and there.

Some of the water front sites didn't really have a view until you walked down a path to the water. The bathrooms were really nicely kept as well. They would get bug filled at night but those staff members were there bright and early to clean them out for the day. The beach and registration center were absolutely gorgeous. The beach was huge and clean. It had a grass area with benches for sun bathing or watching the sunset. So nice! BIG DOWNFALL, you cannot get to the beach from the camping areas. You need to drive to them and not everyone wants to do that to go play in the water. Especially if you have a RV with no other vehicle. There is nothing for the kids in the camping area, no playground or field to play in. There also are not any hiking trails. They are at the nature center, which is a drive away. I don't think we would be staying here again but that's for camping. We would definitely come back to use the beach!

Park rangers did nothing to them but told us we may have to move our camper to prevent the tree from falling on it. Park police did nothing so far. The person on 191 called me a tree hugger. NYS law says no cutting down trees in state parks. Heading home one day in. What a disappointment. You can do better NYS. Spend all winter in state parks across the country and never have issues like this. I am a NYS resident but will not support NYS parks any longer.

We waited over a year to be able to visit the wonderful parks of Quebec (Covid times if you are…read morefrom the future). This park is less than 1 hour from Ottawa and has a wonderful discovery. There is a lunch point for canoes or kayaks near the main entrance and some campgrounds. We came here for the hike, the hike itself is a 6.6 Km trail that is suited for bikes (very wide and flat) The trail is super easy and with an 8 and a 4-year-old it took us 2-3 hours to complete with plenty of stops. Some of the trails are not for bikes and they could be detoured (with other trails) but those are the most beautiful and must hike trails (including a wonderful swamp part). So if you are on a bike, consider locking it and walking those parts. Mosquitos- when we did the trail is was a bit windy and with a lot of dragon flies, so no mosquitos here. Also, there are only short parts in the woods most are an open space paths. Overall wonderful discovery and a beautiful park !

I never been to this park but I looked in that area and this park looked nice and seemed to have trails for our kids hiking levels. The kids loved this park, amazing trails, not that hard that go inside the woods or along the river. Lots of scenic stops, and lots of fun in general. What made us very happy is that this park ALLOWS DOGS (a big thing in Quebec). The park is also very popular as a fishing spot, or for mushroom pickers. The entry is about 5-7$ pp and there is free parking, you can see all the details and trails on the park site, they are also very friendly (and speak English) over the phone. Overall a well deserve 5 stars !

Beautiful planting's. Small gazebo. Statue honoring Samuel de Champlain. Street parking (free) nearby. It seems to be in a local historic district. Historical houses nearby. A small pedestrian suspension bridge crossing the inlet nearby. While we were visiting, a ghost tour was going on. Overall a nice place to take a break, admire the view, watch some sailboats and some birds.
