The cabins are all very clean and staff is both friendly and knowledgeable about the area. The waterfalls are beautiful and can be seen from many of the cabins. We really wanted to add to the good reviews but unfortunately it wasn't a great experience. The…read moreoverall property was quiet and the sound of the Salmon River was relaxing. The live band and party the owners put on was really nice. However, the site we reserved was rented out (there was a particular reason for reserving that site) so they placed us elsewhere. Would've been ok, but, we were next to long term campers that were not maintained and all of their stuff was strung out. We stayed there for 4 days and no one showed up. The grass was overgrown underneath their rig, allowing mice but they were kept at bay by the snakes we found slithering in the tall grass under the camper. The service truck that those neighbors had was parked in the roadway and on our site which made parking, pulling in, and pulling out difficult. Again, it too didn't move so thankfully the campsite was cleared out by the time we left. The campground is also on a slope and the way that the sites are positioned, septic lines will be dumping uphill. This won't be a problem if your dump station is in the front of your RV. Access to the river is limited unless you're of the mindset of no campsite etiquette, which there was plenty of (not the fault really of the owner). There are, however, DEC access points to fish the Salmon relatively nearby which was nice. If this was a $25-30/nite site then ok, whatever, but it's not.

Buck Pond in the northern Adirondacks is one of the nicest campsites I've seen along the east…read morecoast. Actually beats some on the west coast too for camping snobs out there. The sites are nicely spaced so that you're not bumping up against an RV rave. As with any campground, some sites are significantly nicer than others. We were in site 84, pretty damn sweet with its own little trail to the lake. Not gonna divulge what we scouted as THE best which you need to reserve 9 months in advance FYI. Schedule that with your French Laundry resies. They also had boat rentals and a map of the many waterways to explore. Highly suggest the rope swing if you come across it on Rainbow Lake. The ranger/campground manager Bob is just generally awesome. He fueled our little firelet into a great big burner. Smoky the Bear, watch out! Bob also has a ski store in Jay, NY and is a part time maple syrup maker should anyone fancy a winter excursion to the Adirondacks.

It is a shame how two years ago; you could have 2 cars on your site for free. Now you have to pay $12.50/ night for the second car. I went the second week of September and there were not many people. It calms down after Labor Day since everyone is back to school and work. The grass was cut this time. The toilets were clean and there was always soap and toilet paper. Yipeeee! The only downside was it rained from 3am to 9am. Our tent was wet but we were able to dry everything.

We stayed at camping spot on lakeside and it was perfect! I'm very surprised that we didn't get a lot of mosquitoes. Maybe it could be something do with lake itself. Who knows! The bathroom is clean but I'm very impressed how CLEAN in the shower site!!! I love their shower because it's clean and hot water!!!! They have the specific time to clean the shower which they closes from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM daily. I would say it is worth to wait because we get a clean shower stall that I can't complain!!! Thank you so much for keeping the bathroom and shower site clean much as you can!!! I would recommend anyone to go camping there and perfect place for children to play as well.

This is a family park on the St. Lawrence River. The lower sites are right on the water, great view…read moreof Brockville, Canada, ocean going ship traffic and the best sunsets anyplace. The upper sites are in the woods and very private. Protected swimming on a sandy well maintained beach. Great fishing just off the park with boat ramp and docking right in the park. Many river attractions near by on and off the water. The park provides trail guide tours of the many trails. Try the "Beaver Walk" or ask the park staff about Bigfoot. Great park, great staff with many repeat campers from all over and both sides of the border. Very well maintained, clean bathhouses and they sell ice and firewood.
