I was looking forward to using the club to build muscle around my knee, and get in better shape. I also found out they have tanning beds, which I was excited to use them. However, within two weeks of signing my contract we were hit with a dier family emergency that caused us to have to move back to our home state. Because of this, I asked to have my contract cancelled, plus the fact I never got a chance to use it. But Ms. Brown, being the cold person she is, gave absolutely no regard to my situation. She held to the fact that we would still be within 25 miles of a club, and that my extenuating circumstances were of no importance. My husband and I both talked w her and explained the situation. That this emergency caused us to have to liquidate our very few assets, and use our savings. We had to become primary caregivers for a relative, and use our monies for certain healthcare for this individual due to them having limited healthcare insurance themselves. We are seniors living on a fixed income of social security, and enforcing my contract would've been an added hardship to an already disheartening situation. Ms. Brown would hear none of it. She was more concerned about MONEY than showing common human decency and understanding to an isolated circumstance. This wasn't a "buyers remorse" issue, it went way beyond that. However, Ms. Brown at no time would even consider a cancellation. I sent her a certified letter w a money order for $50 (cancellation requirement & fee per contract policy), in which she sent back. She is an unreasonable unempathetic individual. Looking at reviews, this is how Anytime Fitness does business period. Mgr.s treating clients poorly, especially senior citizens. No one in this company has a heart or show mercy and absolutely will not cancel a contract for any reason whatsoever! They want blood. It is ridiculous to think that any Anytime Fitness location needed my mere $55 a mo. to stay in business. I also have a knee disability which Shanda (and Conner; trainer @ the club) were made aware of at signing of my contract. Sometimes I am unable to even venture out anywhere, which puts an added burden on my husband. It also affects our finances because I have to get cortisone shots, in which we have to pay out of pocket due to no health insurance ourselves. Neither of us qualify for Medicare yet. But who cares right? Not anyone at Anytime Fitness... no, all they care about is MONEY.

Seven bucks gets you full use of the gym including the showers. I pay more than that just to use a shower at campgrounds so a shower and a workout is pretty sweet! One thing that really drew me in was the Women's Only area. I didn't want to workout at my university where I knew everyone who was going to be here, but not only did 10 Fitness provide for me a workout away from my school, it also gave me more privacy through the Women's Only room! I also love the unique addition of the Cinema room! It feels like you're killing two birds with one stone by getting both a workout and being entertained at the same time. The overall atmosphere is great, where you don't feel out of place, it's a naturally inviting environment. The classes are a plus, too. I've only done Pilates, but I hear nothing but good things, and the people who attend the classes are very committed in their attendance. They provide incredible childcare as well, so that you can't make an excuse to not work out because you have to be at home with your kids! Only $10 a month for childcare, a really food deal. They gym stays clean, especially the bathrooms. And on top of all of this, the staff is of course great, with awesome trainers and employees who are ready to not just be part of the staff, but also your friend. They learn their customers' names and are intentional. I'm a big fan of this gym, and will miss it when I move away in a few weeks!
