I immediately called and reported this to the front desk. The man who answered speculated "... it must have been left that way by the housekeeping staff" and encouraged me to look for any items I'm missing. What part of the hotels housekeeping procedures include "prop guests doors open and leave unattended during and after your shift"? What I might have had stolen from me is only part of my concerns. The bigger concern is what was covertly done to the room and my belongings in my absence. I provided the above review is response to a Holiday Inn email requesting a review of my stay. Seven days later I receive an email from a member of the corporate "Service Team" who offered to me the hope local hotel management "... will take the necessary actions to ensure the best practices are in place."

The room itself was nice and well decorated for this level of chain hotel with super tall ceilings. We did like the larger "dorm" refrigerator. The bathroom though was a bit worn and the supplies/towels a bit cheap. Also the curtains let in a lot of light - it almost felt like there were spotlights shining on the windows all night. Also only one of us could get on their wifi. The front desk tried to help and suggested they needed to upgrade their booster to get to the end of the hall where we were located. That was disappointing. The breakfast was typical for this level of accommodation which worked for us. If you need to get going early on weekdays it starts at 5am! Dylan Osmon did not return our security deposit. We ultimately had to take him to small claims court. He was not a good landlord. I lived in raw sewage over a weekend on two different occasions. The ventilation was so bad that mold was growing on my personal belongings because the humidity was so high. I was told that I was only allowed to run one appliance at a time in the kitchen because it would trip the breaker. This place is not equipped to handle long term stays. Just because you slap new paint, floors, and cabinets doesn't make it live able.

There were a lack of electric outlets for our electronics but that is really the only negative I have about the room itself. The complaints others had about the smell of smoke in the hallway can be disregarded. There was absolutely no cigarette smoke smell in the hallway (or smell of mold/mildew) and I am extremely sensitive to cigarette smoke smell. If any were there, I would have smelled it. The staff was very friendly and pleasant. When our one year old baby threw up in the middle of the night all over the bed, the staff member on duty immediately had new bed sheets, comforter, and mattress pad sent to our room along with fresh towels. The breakfast is mediocre but passable. My chief complaint is it was cold, but there's a microwave to heat up the food. My only real complaint is the internet. It's so slow as to be unusable. I had to use my phone as a hotspot to do anything on my laptop. When connected to the wireless, I could not connect to most websites (my computer would think I wasn't even on the internet) and those I could were so slow as to think I was back in 1993 on a dial up modem. If you have any need to be on the internet while you're here, find another option.
