I hosted a work dinner here and we arrived a little early. I've been to a Cooper's Hawk before, but not to this particular location. I came early and found out they have a nice happy hour at the bar from 3-5:30 on weekdays. Matt and Kathy were servicing the bar, and were really friendly and working hard to ensure everyone was getting what they needed. I got to taste a wine to think about whether I wanted to go with that, but ended up choosing a cocktail. It was packed, for a Tuesday I'd never have thought that. After a couple rounds we headed to our table. Autumn was our server and she was really on top of her game. Never needed anything because everyone had what they needed at all times. We had appetizers, the shrimp was amazing, dumplings, and the burrata too were winners. My dinner was the gnocchi carbonara, which was really tasty. Chicken, peas, fluffy gnocchi pan seared to finish. Just so good! Our table got banofee pie but I didn't partake. Looking around the room, so many tables enjoying the wine and their dinner. Thought it was a really good time and I can see why it's a safe bet for a customer dinner. Thank you to the team who made our night special! I'll be back!

Cooper's Hawk has a focus. It's to attract customers with their slightly upscale wine bar atmosphere for one primary purpose. To enroll them in their wine clubs. Wine is what Cooper's Hawk is designed to sell. Not food. Now with that said, their food is actually pretty good. Not great, but good. We dined at their Naperville, Illinois location on a Saturday night. The place was busy with dozen's waiting for a table. We had a 5:15 reservation and I'd recommend anyone heading to this location get one. We started with our server, Francis, quickly. He was right at our table within two minutes of our arriving. Immediately he started "hawking" (pun intended) the wine list. I told him that we'd previously tried their Almond Sparkling and that we loved it enough that we intended to buy six bottles before we left. I asked him if there were any discounts from the $28.99 menu cost. He said he'd check on that. Upon returning he said the way to get a discount was to enroll in a wine club. Nice try. But we declined. Francis was nice enough to let us taste three wines, a red blend, a Pinot noir, and a Cabernet. We went with the Cab which was actually quite good, for $34.99. Francis wanted us to have it served in one of their suspended carafes. I told him no. This is another method Cooper's Hawk uses to showcase their wine chops. But for serious wine drinkers, this is an overdone gimmick that's not appreciated. These behemoths are huge and ugly and don't belong on the table. They're also badly designed as a serious wine carafe. For dinner we split a Chopped Wedge Salad (good choice as it was huge and tasty), and ordered the Soy Ginger Salmon and Dana's Parmesan Chicken. My wife really enjoyed her Salmon, served with a mashed potato and an Asian slaw, heavy on the sesame oil taste. The Parmesan Chicken was excellent, thin, crispy, and yet still moist. Nicely done. However the accompanying potato dish - Mary's Potatoes - was lacking is seasoning and taste. It was kind of a cheesy hash brown casserole. Overall, our bill hit around $135 with tip. Will we be back? Not likely. Again the food was good. The wine was good. But for my tastes and dining style, Cooper's Hawk was just too commercial in its approach and I can find better. So overall rating is three stars.

Dannnnggggg, if there's 1 piece of advice I have.. MAKE A RESERVATION!!! I was here on a weekday evening and the place was sardines jam packed. Thankfully my group of 5 had a reso and we avoided waiting for a table. This location is the same as any other Cooper's spot. Dark and moody, a cozy spot to have a drink(s) and some good food. Parking can be tricky, however, there are plenty of spots. It may just take awhile to find 1. Tea was our server and she is 1 of the reasons why I'm giving this review 5 stars. I loved her energy - she was friendly and the perfect amount of attentive. Despite how busy it was she kept up with the massive amounts of guests. Our group did not have any long waits and our water glasses were constantly refilled. For my drink I sampled the March wine of the month which was a Washington red. It was smooth, dry and bold. I enjoyed it so much that I went with a glass. For food I decided to go against my usual 'go to' pick and had the roasted chicken risotto. It was pretty good, not 1 of my favorites (Dana's parmesan chicken or Elli's chicken piccata), but still full of flavor and cooked perfectly. We were celebrating 2 birthdays and Tea brought out 2 plates of truffles (comped) for the celebrants. We lost track of time and didn't realize we were there for almost 3 hours. Time flies when the service, atmosphere, company and food/drinks are 5 stars!

This is one of my sister and brother-in-law's favorite places. The chicken I had was incredible. I almost cleared my plate, which is saying a lot for me. I loved it. Cannot wait to come back.

We had happy hour bruschetta and sliders as well as a wine flight before we went to our dinner reservation. The food was so good we almost cancelled our reservation. The burrata and prosciutto they used were fire. The wine flight has very generous pours. It's a little price ($20) but quantity justifies the price. A great environment for a fun date night especially if you are into wine!

Great service and food as always! I had never tried their brunch food and got the smoked brisket hash. It was very flavorful and the brisket was tender. I loved the potatoes and peppers too. Other dishes at our table were Dana's Parmesan-Crusted Chicken and the roasted vegetable flatbread. We all really enjoyed our meals!

I ordered the chicken piccata and I really like how the chicken was nice and moist ! Even the next day, it was not dry. They gave you three nice size chicken breast and I like the dish . I do recommend it. The crispy brussels sprouts is the best appetizer.! I like the sauce with it and the dish has good flavor! The menu is good. It's just that it's a little pricey but I guess you're paying for quality?? it's a very popular restaurant unfortunately it might be the only good one around Naperville TBH but hopefully they're bringing in more restaurants in the area! They have good wine selection even if you don't drink wine so I must say you have a lot of good options as far as drinks go!

I had always heard that Cooper's hawk is known for more than just their delicious wine, but this trip to cooper's truly proved it for me! We went to Cooper's hawk for a date on a Friday night - the place was bustling in both the wine tasting area and the dining area. Be sure to grab a reservation for Friday - Sunday because it is very crowded and there can be long wait times. Our server actually presented us with a seasonal menu which looked too good to not try so we ended up ordering the chili roasted salmon right from that menu. This salmon was hands down one of the best salmon dishes I've had at a restaurant. It came with this amazing lemon butter sauce, crispy fingerling potatoes, and roasted brocolli. It was a perfect, balanced meal which also tasted a 1000% delicious! Next up, we got their caprese flatbread which had mozzarella, basil, tomatoes, and a balsamic glaze on top. The flatbread was light and refreshing and each bite was the perfect bite with all the ingredients. LOVED IT! Obviously, we had to get dessert and we got their special chocolate cake which was not too sweet, had layers of texture and flavor, and was the perfect size to split amongst 2 people! We obviously had wine during our visit as well but forgot to take pictures. The blanc de blanc is definitely my favorite wine at cooper's and I get it every single time I go! Never thought I would say this, but if I'm looking to eat out and don't know where to go, cooper's will definitely be one of my go-to places! The service, the ambiance, the food, the drinks, everything was a 10/10! Cant wait to go back for more!

When do you turn on the heaters for outdoor dining ? Can it be done by request?

The food looks great but do they have a craft cocktail menu for non wine drinkers? I see they have a full bar but do they have a set craft cocktail menu?

They have a full liquor bar so you should be able to order just about any cocktail you want.

Does this restaurant do hot pasta in a cheese wheel....for that cheesy pasta?

    No they do not.

Chris was our server and provided great service and went above and beyond. My cousin and I decided to share the grilled oysters and the charcuterie. Chris noted my reservation said no nuts and seeds and he said that the charcuterie came with seeded lavish. He went through the lavish and only chose the ones without the seeds. Now that's service! The grilled oysters were amazing! Only four came on the plate and I wanted to eat all of them and not share. I will definitely get those again - and all to myself. The charcuterie was your typical charcuterie. You can choose your own cheeses and meats on the board which is nice. The only disappointing thing is no complimentary dessert for our birthdays. Lots of restaurants do that, but I guess not at this one. Get those grilled oysters, you won't be sorry.

THE MALBECKONING…read more SixtyFour Wine Bar is a winning concept in downtown Naperville. Much like what Tapville Social does for beer, SixtyFour follows the concept of guests having the freedom to pour their own drinks. This place is on Water St in Naperville, near Vasili's and Blue Sushi Sake. Street parking isn't plentiful so the garage is your best bet, especially in the evening. You can build your own charcuterie, but use caution: everything is a la carte and without much effort that cute cheese platter can swell upwards of $40. This happened to us on our 1st visit, I thought "yeah sure, add a $4 honeycomb and seasonal jams, why not" to go with the $9 prosciutto, $7 manchego, and $5 cornichons. More recently, I got the restaurant week pre-fixe ($49) which included a starter, entrée, dessert, and glass of champagne. Each course separately would've added up to $55 (not counting the bubbly), so this option saved a few bucks. Both my wife and I got a pour-your-own wine card, that set us back about $20pp. The wifey got a mix of a dozen west coast & east coast oysters ($36) that came with cocktail sauce and a zippy pomegranate mignonette. The goat cheese bruschetta ($13) was incredible: goat cheese spread on several large pieces of grilled sourdough with roasted tomato and balsamic. We loved this and would get it again in a heartbeat. 5/5 The dates ($13) were a different story, however, as they came with cranberry goat cheese, orange honey, and crushed walnuts. I've been so used to savory dates (wrapped in bacon with a tomato sauce) that this much sweeter iteration caught me off guard. They weren't objectively bad, I just wouldn't order them again. 3/5 For my main course, I chose the short rib ($31) as I've done several times now: tender beef with mashed potatoes, braised carrots, crispy onions, and a red wine jus. This is a delicious entrée that I find myself steering towards every time I'm here, as it pairs perfectly with a Malbec or red blend. 5/5 The gnocchi ($33) were fairly pricey which I attribute to big chunks of lobster in a white sauce. But what SixtyFour did felt like a "bastardization" of gnocchi (my wife's words, not mine) by turning it into a homemade mac 'n' cheese of sorts, cooking it in a mini cast iron skillet topped with toasted breadcrumbs. Say what?! "Breadcrumbs" and "gnocchi" should never be used in the same sentence, unless it's "hey honey I did that grocery shopping, and I got beer, eggs, wine, gnocchi, ice cream, laundry detergent, kitty litter, AAA batteries and a box of breadcrumbs". It tasted fine, but there was absolutely no need to innovate here. 1.5/5 We reached a split decision on the dirty chai crème brûlée ($11). My wife thought it was different but lovely, whereas I found it strayed too far from vanilla custard and the flavor was overpowering, as if I just snorted tea leaves. It was REALLY strong, y'all! 3/5 Bread = 3.5 Circuses = 4.5 Our server Melissa was attentive and let us know about the wine tasting inside near the hostess' stand. We had a couple small pours (1-2oz) which equated to a free half glass, no complaints there. Restrooms were clean and the outside patio has a relaxing ambiance. The vibes are classy, romantic even. * TL;DR * It's fun sampling bold reds, sweet whites, and even rosé in 1oz, 3oz, and 6oz pours. I pity the fool who grabs a glass, sticks it underneath the first tap they see up front and presses 'POUR' without realizing they just selected a 2014 Chateau Haut-Brion ...... which retails for $500 a bottle! A half glass is nearly $75! I'll stick with a $7 Shiraz, thanks. As for the food, it's been mostly great with only a few exceptions. The gnocchi was whack, and the chai crème brûlée was polarizing. Due to the presence of delicate wine glasses literally everywhere, I would keep kids away from here. Leave the little ones at home and come here for date night. SixtyFour lists themselves as a wine bar first and kitchen second, which I agree with. If what you're seeking is a kitchen *and* wine bar, hit up a Coopers Hawk. Both places have solid wine selections, but being able to enjoy wine on-demand is a big plus. I'd happily recommend SixtyFour to friends and family.

I recently attended a tour of the Arboretum via a small (10 people) van tour from another Chicago metro area community about 45 minutes from the location. Of course, it is very different; there is a sit-down restaurant with very good food, The menu is on their webpage. There is also a carry-out location very near the restaurant. There is also a gift/book shop near the entrance. The choices made by the buyer are truly one of a kind and in the best of taste. There are ample visitor facilities and places to sit down. I do not think that there were any special events taking place and if they do there appears to be ample parking which includes chargers for electric cars. Some of the facilities associated with the Arboretum are not close to the visitors' center but closer to the entrance/exit. The walking paths are do-able for hardy folks as well as those who are not. Lots of kids and parents were present, all having a great time. The tram is highly recommended as it gives a one of a kind look at the Arboretum, its past and its future and our driver/guide was terrific. The cost is $10 for non-members, and well worth it. As I am an infrequent visitor I would not be a good candidate for a membership; if I lived closer to the site and were a frequent visitor the cost-savings for an Arboretum membership would be a nice savings I think. Lastly there was a bit of confusion about the admission pricing for our group; our trip organizers may have been quoted one price, and we were charged another upon arrival at the entrance to the Arboretum. We were paying per attendee not as a group, so perhaps that is where the confusion began. Perhaps pre-payment is preferred here. Group sales for the Arboretum would be able to clarify this I am sure.

Altavida is a new addition to the downtown Naperville area as they have only been open for 3 weeks…read more It has taken over The Craftsman building which offers three floors. Altavida's concepts for the three levels are Publico, Rumba, and Altura. Publico (1st Flr)- A South American fusion of food and drinks that will be rotating. The cocktails will be more tequila and mezcal based and food will be subtly rotated based on trends happening in South America. The food menu currently offers tapas, empanadas, ceviche, guacamoles, larger format meat/seafood entrees, and more. They will have a front of our bar as well as a back bar that will specialize in more coffees/coffee cocktails. Rumba (2nd Flr)- The entertainment floor! There is a separate bar on this floor that will specialize in more Rum based cocktails. Additionally, they will have a wine bar area with wines in tap. Lastly, they will have an open area for live music as well as dancing. Their hope is to have a mix of jazz, club music, salsa dancing options available. Altura (3rd Flr)- This floor is still under construction but will have a rooftop patio. The hope is that this space will be an event space both for public and private events. Back to my experience! My partner and I stopped in for a cocktail and to see what Altavida was about. Our first bartender was very nice but was still getting used to the drink recipes and was leaning on their cheat sheets. While we waited, another bartender kindly told us all about the restaurant and its focus on hospitality. Unfortunately, each bartender had a slightly different explanation of the restaurant's goal concepts which was confusing. We ended up ordering the El Toro and Vaquero (both mezcal drinks). Both were VERY spirit forward to the point that it may have needed better balance. Both drinks had a nice presentation with garnishes, color, and a skull feature at the bottom of the glass. Lastly, we saw many people walk up and look confused as there was no formal host stand. They didn't know if they should seat themselves or wait for someone. Overall, there still seems to be some kinks needing to be worked out as well as some conceptual editing. I feel they are trying to achieve too much and it ends up being confusing for staff and guests. I hope with time, Altavida is extremely successful in the Naperville area and I hope to circle back after some time passes.

This place is a wonderful addition to DT Naperville! I was able to get a last minute dinner…read morereservation on a Friday night. I arrived at 6:30 and there were plenty of people already in the restaurant, but I was seated promptly. My server Richard came over to greet me right away. He went over the menu options and gave great recommendations. We put our order in pretty quickly because we've been to tapas restaurants before. I loved the modern decor and lively music being played. The place is truly colorful and has a very energetic vibe. The service was excellent. Everyone was extremely kind and happy to help. Edwin, the general manager was so friendly and accommodating by making sure that everything was to our liking. He is a gem. My husband and I ordered a few different tapas to share. We started with the empanadas and they were truly 10/10, highly recommend! We had the beef and chicken with the chimichurri sauce. We also tried the papas bravas and those were delicious as well. They are spicy and have a nice kick. The portion is pretty big and shareable. Last, we had chicken en mole. Omg, so good! They knocked it out of the park with this one. The presentation is very pleasing and the flavor is 10/10! I'm a hot sauce girly and even carry it in my bag just in case. The sauce they had in the dish was so good that I didn't even think about adding hot sauce! The rice and chicken along with the sauce is chef's kiss. I also tried the Brussels sprouts but they were my least favorite of everything. They should go back to the drawing board on that one. The drinks we had were solid. My husband had an espresso martini and dragonfruit margarita, while I had a mango margarita. All were good. Needless to say, I had an amazing evening at Altavida! The dancing on the second floor was also very fun and entertaining. I will definitely be a regular here!

A side note there is a Peet's coffee right above this that you can stop in for a snack. They also have a full bar and snacks available for purchase on the boat which was a surprise to me! The bathrooms on board are super clean as well. Now, the best part was Scott! Our tour was engaging, fun, and very informative. You can barely feel yourself moving which is wild! I got a ton of great photos and learned so much about the city. I would do this exact tour again it was so fun. They do have lots of options to choose from!

Me and my partner scheduled a 90-minute architecture tour for 06/24/2025 at 8:30PM (Total $90 for two tickets). We arrived early and while waiting, we received an email at 7:56PM saying there was an issue with their boat and they had to cancel the tour. We went down to the ticketing office and spoke with the employee. He explained there was an issue with their boat and it was impossible to refund our tickets at his ticketing office. He advised me that we could call the main office number and ask for a refund and then shrugged saying he wasn't sure if they would be able to. The employee stated he could reschedule us to 8:45PM (a firework tour - not what we wanted) or 9:00PM for the architecture tour. I advised him we would be fine with shifting our plans to 9:00PM. He printed me and my partner our tickets and we stepped aside to wait for an hour. We looked at the tickets and noticed that the 9:00PM tour was printed as only 45-minutes long, not the 90-minutes originally purchased. I went back up to the ticketing office and inquired about the discrepancy and asked for a refund on the difference, as the 45-minute tour was only $28 per ticket (Total $56 for two tickets). The employee again said he couldn't refund us for the difference. At this point I was upset because literally, what do you mean you can't refund the difference? After me being persistent (and a different employee also saying no refunds), they finally admitted they actually COULD refund me there, and then issued me a refund / receipt saying my card would be credited for the original amount in 2 - 5 days. I left completely confused by the interaction. How are YOU going to cancel on me, and then say "Oh no refunds" *shrug*. Umm you didn't provide the service I purchased... I would urge you to use literally any other architecture tour group.
