My family and I went to Coopers Hawk a few weeks ago. Late afternoon we only wanted appetizers. We ordered beef and pork sliders. Spinach dip and chips and wine samples and mixed drinks. Each plate of 4 sliders each were enough for the 3 of us. Our Servers were attentive and kept the drinks and appetizers coming. The thought of dessert was great but we were stuffed and passed on them. We were very impressed and happy that the appetizers were so generous. Great place to go. read more

Located within a large mall in Plainfield, IL we could have walked to Cooper's Hawk from our hotel nearby. It is quite large. We noticed a large group of patron standing along the perimeter of the lobby with their backs towards us as they sipped on wine flights in front of them on the table. We passed a souvenir sales spot on our way to the hostess as well, so we figured we were in a franchise eatery. Fortunately, it was early evening on a weekday. Not too crowded. We were comfortably seated, and Nathaniel Y was our gracious and knowledgeable server. Because all wines are made in house, i tasted one or two before settling on a full glass of red. I wish it had served a bit (60ºF) cooler that the room temperature one i received. I ordered a Soup and Salad Combo. The Tortilla Soup was out of this world wonderful! My wine was good, if served a little warmer than that of the usual reds. I highly recommend the Arancini appetizer - crispy, hot and full of Parmesan flavor! The Tortilla soup is among the best I've had! The flavors burst, and the thin chips added a wonderful texture variant. I enjoyed the house salad with the house vinaigrette as well - very fresh! Rude customer service. Very disappointing experience at the Cooper's Hawk in Plainfield. As Wine Club members, we expected much better. My husband and I went on 7/11/26 @3:30 pm - the restaurant was nearly empty, with plenty of open tables and booths available. We politely asked to sit in an open booth that was literally right next to the table they were assigning us, but were told no because that section didn't have a server yet and we'd have to wait an hour. The hostess was dismissive and made no effort to find a solution or accommodate a simple request. It's hard to understand why an empty booth a few feet away was worth losing paying customers over. Policies should never outweigh basic customer service and common sense. This experience left a very poor impression. read more

I was meeting my friend here for an early dinner. She made reservations at 530 and I was slightly delayed due to rush hour traffic. They waited until the entire party arrived to seat us so that's something to consider if you make a reservation here. This spot is new and it's gorgeous. There's merch and of course wine up front by the hostess stand. We were seated in a booth and we actually got two servers since one was in training. Both ladies were fantastic! We started out with bread and the drunken shrimp to share. I got the jambalaya and it was tasty. It had a little kick to it but still very delicious and satisfying. I did not have the wine but as always, they had plenty to choose from. It was good that we got there when we did because on our way out, the place was packed! Coopers Hawk has always been one of my favorite restaurants and when we learned that a CH was being built near us, we were ecstatic. So, our first visit to this restaurant was a minor disappointment. That said, the food and the ambiance was typical for an upscale restaurant. However, on this visit, the service was sub par to say the very least. Our cocktails and appetizers were out rather quickly followed by our entrées. The delays came after we enjoyed our meal and wanted to order dessert. It took our server over 20 minutes to take our dessert order and another 30 minutes to bring it out. Very disappointing. We were greeted by the wine attendants upon coming in the front door. Then proceeded to get a friendly greeting from host station. Once seated, Brianna took our drink order with a smile . Our server, Allison, was knowledgeable about the menu, offered fantastic recommendations, and checked in just the right amount--never intrusive but always there when needed. We were able to meet the manager there named Bradley when he came up to make sure we were enjoying our dining and experience. Talk about a manager that is going to be sitting the bar high there! You could tell he has a passion and vision for making it the best place possible for dining and for everyone there! Now, let's talk about the food--absolutely divine! Every dish was a masterpiece, bursting with fresh, high-quality ingredients and bold, creative flavors. The BBQ Chicken Salad was delicious , and the shared dessert of Banofee melted in my mouth. 3rd time here , first 2 times the food was good. I had the Spaghetti and Meatballs and then the Blackened Tuna. Now the third time was a bit off , I had the Short Ribs which stated came with potatoes and vegetables. What I received would get a comment from Ramsey "F'ng Mess". The mashed potatoes were mixed with the vegetables and the gravy was 60% grease. Let's put it this way , I had an oil spill in front of me and no Dawn to clean it up (thanks god no ducks got hurt). Not pleasant so not as enjoyable as the first 2 times. Service was great , although had to ask for water 3 times , I think they ran out of water lol. If there were 1/2 points I would rate it 3 1/2 stars on food. The full experience was a 4 star First time experience at Cooper's Hawk. At entering there is a standing bar (which was almost at capacity). We were there to meet someone for lunch, and had to scan the entry area to locate the restaurant hostess. Not really hard however if there had been several more people we would not have seen the hostess area. The atmosphere is comfortable and laid back/casual. After letting the hostess know most of our party was in (only 1 hadn't arrived). They were preparing our table. The lobby area is nice and we were able to glance in the bar seating area - very spacious. We were seated in the main dining room which is also very spacious. We ordered a pitcher of Peach Sangria which was very refreshing. (Did not realize they mixed it to order). Our waitress was very friendly and pleasant as well as efficient. She did give a few meal suggestions because we'd asked what was good on the menu. As we waited for our meals she brought out our complimentary warm loaf with butter. Our meals arrived and everyone was pleased with their selections. I'll talk on my Grilled Mahi Sandwich. The sandwich was not overwhelmingly tasty. There was a little aioli on the bun yet there is a side to allow me to add more. Still not very tasty. My suggestion would be to season the Mahi more aggressively. The fries were crispy. I must say as far as my over all view/ criticism is the restaurant is more Wine forward rather than food forward. If you are going for the adult libations it is a great place. However the food is an afterthought. Oh I will say... I appreciated the restroom water temperature. The water did get hot without having to let the water run for a while. It was instantly hot. Great sign the kitchen water temperature matches and prides the restaurant with good sanitation beliefs. read more

My annoyance quickly faded. We had an amazing server. She was so attentive despite being crazy busy. Love the vibe of the new restaurant. And we also all loved our food. My girlfriends and I thought we'd try the new Cooper's Hawk nearby and we were very disappointed. We ordered our food, two of us ordering the same thing. When the food arrived, my plate was wrong. But the waitress insisted that I was wrong and that is what I had ordered. I am a huge fan of chicken piccata, which is what I had ordered and my friend as well , but I was brought something fried and I don't eat fried foods. It took a really long time to get that plate replaced and when the waitress brought it back to us, she continued to tell me that I had not ordered this item, but she was getting it for me anyway. Ironically, none of our meals were very good anyway Fast-forward, my son and daughter-in-law who have always been fans of Cooper Hawke decided to try the new restaurant last night They had a reservation for 7:40. They went ahead of time for a wine testing, and when they were done, they asked to be seated which they were, but no waitstaff came to their table . When they questioned, they were told that their reservation was not until 740 so they had to wait until then to be taken care of. There were many empty tables in the restaurant my son said, and he had brought that up to the waiter who said that doesn't mean anything. My son proceeded to tell them that they could serve them right then or that they would be leaving and writing a harsh review They did finally send somebody over to the table, a waitress who was sloppy, was leaning on their table with one hand and was very unprofessional. So I guess that with that and my waitress being very unprofessional and argumentative that none of us will be frequenting the new Cooper's Hawk, and perhaps none of them. By the way, my son and daughter-in-law said their food was terrible. My son and daughter-in-law were Club members at Cooper's Hawk for years before I even moved to this area. This experience alone has turned them off to your entire chain. There are so many other restaurants, including the new Olive Garden, which was amazing on the three occasions that I went to it, which is right next-door to The New Cooper's Hawk. And I am so glad that the Plainfield location has opened up, I have not had a bad experience with Coopers Hawk, the ambiance of this location is so mellow and nice, and the service is wonderful! When I walked in I was greeted by the host stand and they were lovely! They looked happy to be there! And the host saw it was my birthday, she made it a point to tell me happy birthday multiple times, I felt very special. We had a wonderful server (who I cannot remember the name of unfortunately) who was speedy and again made me feel so nice on my birthday. I had reservations both times that I've gone and highly recommend because they are packed even on weekdays. I got Ellie's chicken because it is my favorite and it did not disappoint. Both times that I've gone, everyone's food was hot and tasted great. Service was also fast and I like that they didn't expect for us to leave soon. Highly recommend doing the wine tasting as well. First time visiting this location for Cooper's Hawk we had a late afternoon reservation and the restaurant was not that busy. Our server was great we ordered appetizers I had the wedge salad. and I guess he had the lobster shrimp bisque he said it was very good. I've had the word salad several times it does not disappoint. I ordered the pretzel crusted pork chop, which was OK. I thought the pork was a little on the dry side my guest ordered the chicken Madera, which is a favorite of mine. Dessert was Keylime pie, which is very good. Cooper's hawk version of a s'more which my guest had and said was excellent. Having a wine club membership and having bottles available on my membership it's nice to be able to have a bottle opened at the table and I have to pay additional for wine. Anything left in the bottle you're allowed to take home in a special sealed package. Which is nice that leaving it behind a wasting what you do not drink. read more

I went to the coopers hawk in kc a couple of yeats ago and it was great. If you like chains like - i dont k now - cheesecake factory - you will like this. If you want a bit higher quality, you will think "ick, ick,ick" which was my experience. So little effort and expense can turn a sub- par meal into a winnner. Had a good experience here the first time.. minus the food poisoning which I called about and didn't ask for any money back. Came second for a pick up order and waited over 20 minutes then when it said to be picked up. Pretty ridiculous, either tell me the right time or don't have pick up orders if it's a big inconvenience. My boyfriend finally went in there and it was just sitting on the shelf waiting. I love Cooper's Hawk and was excited to visit the new location. Unfortunately, my recent visit fell short of expectations. Our party came in for dinner, but we didn't receive bread. I ordered the filet medallions medium rare, but they were served well done. The server was very kind, checked her notes, and confirmed she had written it correctly. She offered to have them remade, but by the time my meal arrived, everyone else at my table had already finished eating. Even then, two of the three medallions were still medium well instead of medium rare. The manager came by, apologized, and offered us a complimentary dessert to share, which I appreciated. However, I've visited many Cooper's Hawk locations and have always had great experiences, so this was disappointing. I may give this location another try in the future, hoping for the quality and consistency I've come to expect from Cooper's Hawk. read more
