The aisles were as organized as any Goodwill. The employees seemed friendly and happy and the floors were clean. The bathrooms had doorbells you had to ring to be let in, pretty standard. All in all this Goodwill was fine. It was just more expensive than I'm used to.

They faked a fire alarm and decided to come up stairs to the women's dorm and tell everyone that they need to get out. I ask why what's wrong. Because I am curious. And Whitney said we don't know yet. It was just strange the fire alarm never went off. Not long after we went outside the fire department showed up and they walked in and walked right out. We were able to go back in then as soon as we get back in they call my Husband Chris to the office and told her that we have to leave because she was not wearing a bra. Chris is transgender. Chris had a bra on earlier when Bonnie asked her. When we were upstairs Chris took off the bra due to an allergic reaction. And we did not know we had to get out for a fake fire alarm. Then they kick us out for no reason. We were trying to figure out when we can get back into the building so Chris can put her bra back on. After Bonnie talked to Chris I knew something was wrong and I asked her and Chris said we have to leave. And I asked Josh to talk to him and he would not let me talk and he was very rude. Getting g kicked out was so not right.Especially since I found out that I have two holes in my heart from birth that day. They do not care about mental health at all. I told them that I have bipolar when we first went in. And they said they would understand but they dont. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Especially not recommend this place to anyone who has really bad mental health and bad health concerns or conditions they will not care. I did appreciate the food and the bed and the shower. They'll tell you "oh, we are just going to give you a warning for blah blah blah, just don't do it again" then a week later tell you that you've been kicked out for a week over that warning. I have horrible joints, to the point that I can't spend more than an hour on my feet without being in horrible amounts of pain. They regularly tried to tell me I had to apply at numerous places that would require me to spend hours on my feet. When I brought a doctor's note showing that I wasn't making this up the director claimed I was just lying and that it wasn't that bad, then rambled on about how she sprained her knee badly years ago and she can stand perfectly fine. These are horrible people, out and out. They are not there to help anyone, they are just there to pretend they are amazing people and be able to brag about how great they are. The head cook is a live in resident who gets his own room. That room is disgusting. Trash everywhere, looks like it hasn't been vacuumed in a decade. I worked in that kitchen and he would never stop bad mouthing Gordon Ramsey and talking about how he used to work at a Michelin Star place in Portland, then turns around and puts out bland crap that might as well have come out of a TV dinner. If you are thinking of donating so you can feel good about yourself, save your money and go find a homeless person and buy them dinner. You'll be doing more to help and won't have to contribute to the employment of the absolute scum that run this place.

Love/Hate relationship - no doubt about it. Having worked with this organization "behind the…read morescenes" I resent such a lovely building mostly paid for by donations by locals used so selectively and over-charging to host events. If everyone who ever donated time, money, or labor of any sort to SWOYA, you'd think there'd be some sort of community spirit of working together here. I didn't find that to be true. Five years of negotiating prices for a local association to host an event in the building (largest and only appropriate building available for functions) it was a continual hassle! Is this or is this not a building with the purpose of supporting our local community and its kids? I'm guessing the kids have fun... Also, I've donated money and been part of larger donations made by groups/organizations only to find we did NOT get what we thought we were buying! Just finding all the problems was a tough nut to crack! Comp-U-Talk's people got it figured out and did a very nice job of it. What is surprising is to see this computer business still around while so many in the CB-NB area have closed up for good. That must be due to them actually being good! I just hope in 10 years they are still around when the next time for digital indigestion comes around...LOL!
