Appetizers were fine but I ordered the most standard fish they serve-blackened black drum. Came out looking like a burnt chicken breast and was as tough as it looked. Had to use a steak knife. I've never had a tough black drum in my life. I've eaten there for 10 yrs through 3 different owners and this was the worst. Last time for me. No excuse for this. After being g out in the bay all day catching fish. This was the perfect spot to end our day with dinner. The perfectly took our fresh fillets and made them into masterpieces. The seasonings were on point. The flavor of each of the home made fish sauces are out of control!!! I will come. Back to eat here any time we are even close by!!! read more

Met some new friends for dinner. They had been before but this was our first visit. I would add photos but the drinks, apps, food and conversations were so great that I totally forgot. We had the Brussel sprouts and crab dip as starters. Both were amazing. For entrees I had the chicken piccata and the hubs had the special of the night which was tuna that was amazing. Food was excellent. Service was friendly but extremely slow, but they were very busy. My son had the ribeye that was cooked perfectly but it was super thin. For the price ($50+) it should have been a better cut. I had mussels and the grilled Caesar. Many of the mussels were dead (unopened) but the broth was amazing. My husband had the daily special, halibut. It was great but a tiny portion. Great cocktails. Overall good experience but if they tweaked a bit, would be 5 star. read more

This was an excellent meal. I cannot recommend enough the scallops dynamite and the Brussel sprouts. The entree was a special so it may not be available but it was wonderful also. I do recommend calling ahead for a reservation especially if it is a weekend. We didn't have one but they did get us in, they just preferred a reservation since it was Saturday evening. Started with a 1/2 order of the Brussel Sprouts. Glad we went with the 1/2 order as recommended by our server. A full-size would have been too much. Although not a great fan of Brussel Sprouts, this deep fried version was pretty good. Perhaps a tad on the sweet side with the Asian style honey sauce. Although I'm uncertain what made it "Asian" style. $7.00 3/5 I ordered 6 Aransas Pass oysters. First time trying this variety. The oysters were very mild, soft and creamy. Probably not one I'd try again because I prefer oysters to be a bit more firm and briny. $12.00 3/5 I ordered the salmon from their daily menu (vs. their regular offering). They ran out of the snapper. It came with mashed potatoes and asparagus wrapped in prosciutto The mashed potatoes were very creamy and buttery. The salmon was in my opinion, overcooked. I like the middle to be slightly undercooked. The skin which they fried and added was pretty good, but the salmon itself was not season enough. I had to add a touch of S/P. $32.00 3/5 My hubby ordered the New York strip with the same mashed potato served with the salmon, and broccolini. According to the description, it was served with a marrow butter sauce. However, we couldn't see or taste where it was added as a side or melted on top of the steak. My husband felt that it was a okay. $42.00 3/5 As carrot cake lovers, we added the carrot cake to go. Got home and honestly, felt this was the best offering from the restaurant. Not overly sweet. Not too soft or too hard. A perfect "bite". The drizzled caramel topping was the perfect touch! $12.00 5/5 Cocktails: 1 orange margarita, 1 plain margarita, approximately $30 3/5 Our server was great. But have to add that as we were leaving, the two hosts at the front desk talking to one another didn't acknowledge us leaving, no have a nice evening or good night or thank you. Rather both my husband and I heard one of them say "....freaking...something" and when I glanced over saw that they were both frowning. So interpreted that as they were not happy with a situation/person. Won't judge the restaurant entirely on that, but mentioning it as an opportunity for training. Amazing!! We travel all over the US for my husbands job and I can confidently say this is definitely in my top five of all time great restaurants! The atmosphere is cozy and located across from the Bay. Service was awesome starting with the hostess right when you walk in. We ate at the bar and it was perfect! We started with the deviled egg appetizer and OMG! I'm going to have to step up my deviled egg game! Next we shared a NY Strip and a Blackened Drum with beurre blanc sauce over creamy parmesean risotto. Both were absolutely outstanding! We finished with espresso martinis! YUMMY!! What a lovely meal! We started with the crab stuffed deviled eggs and the brussels sprouts (the best we've ever eaten). I had ahi tuna over risotto which was perfectly cooked, and my husband had shrimp piccata (he loved it). For dessert, we had crème brulee. Since acquiring it when it was operating under another name, they have transformed this restaurant into one of the best dining experiences in the Coastal Bend. This is by far the best restaurant in Rockport. The cocktails are delicious and the food is always on point. We started the evening with a Manhattan with Buffalo Trace bourbon while my husband had a Shiner. We skipped the appetizer because we were planning on dessert. My scallops were cooked just perfectly and the light lacing of balsamic added just a hint of tart and sweet. The risotto was delicious and the asparagus was the perfect vegetable complement to complete the dish. My husband was very pleased with his flounder and risotto. He ate it all which is the highest compliment. We had the chocolate brownie dessert with ice cream. Perfect closing for a perfect meal. Visiting Rockport for the first time. A different place with the same address came highly recommended but we discovered they changed owners/names. Naveya was our server. We started with an amazing Caesar salad-they split it for us. Also had the truffle fries which my son loved. He's not a fan of dips but the sauce they served it with was delicious. We orders the seafood Mac and cheese, shrimp scampi and blackened drum with risotto. All the food was amazing!!! My shrimp scampi was rich and full of flavor and creamy. We devoured everything!! We saved room for dessert/ key lime crème brûlée. That first bit was divine but the second bite I discovered the graham cracker crust. Dinner was worth every penny. Hubs also had the Burbounopolis drink which was refreshing. I ordered a very dirty martini but it was not the slightest bit cloudy so they brought more olive juice! Quiet and clean. This is the old Chesapeake 415 restaurant, and they maintain the old menu. The specials are fantastic... I had a panko breaded pork chop with green curry over Parmesan risotto. What a flavor explosion! They also featured blackjack farmed Aransas Bay oysters for 2 bucks an oyster. The farmed Texas Gulf oysters are comparable in flavor to blue points or pei oysters at about half the price. Delicious. Looks like they maintain Chesapeake's excellent bourbon collection as well.
