We were hungry! We were looking for casual seafood in this Texas Coastal Area. My wife found a little restaurant with an appropriate sounding name and reasonable reviews and we went for it! At 7 PM, the parking lot was full! I stepped inside and found no one was actually eating. Most of the comestibles were of a liquid nature. But we just wanted some fried shrimp. Maybe some fries or tots and, as stated on the menu, hushpuppies and "4 oz of slaw", on request. Besides that, it was only "deep fryer food", what could go wrong? Plenty! To be fair the shrimp wasn't horrible. But, when ordering, I was specifically asked if I wanted "4" shrimp or "8". I specified "8" for both orders. I also asked for tater-tots with one order, fries with the other. Additionally, as specified on the menu, I requested hush-puppies and slaw. That is when things went awry. I got the food to go, as we had a dog in the car and there were no pup friendly patio tables. The nice waitress brought our order and we pulled out into traffic. We soon found a quiet place to eat. That is when our anticipation was replaced by reality. The "hush-puppies" were little more than an inch in diameter! Those won't hush any puppy I ever knew. The tater-tots were only about the size of a thumb nail. The shrimp were large and nicely cooked, but we got short changed. I did get my 8 fried shrimp, as ordered. My wife only got 4. And there was no "cocktail sauce" no "tartar sauce", not even ketchup for the potato component. The food was hot though! It was so hot that it melted through the styrofoam "take out containers and even fused them together in a couple of places. There was no sign of any slaw-like food item. Our needs were simple. Our expectations were not too high. But serving all the food items ordered and paid for by a customer is apparently not in the bag of tricks at this restaurant. read more

If you're staying in Port Aransas, you need to hop on the ferry and get over here. Six pieces of coconut shrimp on the island is $30. Over here it's $19 for eight pieces plus hush puppies your choice of fries and a salad! And it's so delicious. We came back today and got the fried fish basket for $10. It's a huge piece of fish perfectly fried crispy on the outside flaky and tender in the middle. Absolute perfect perfection! read more

Terrible place. Beyond dissatisfied and disgusted. A hispanic family came in and was beyond disrespected by one of the waiters. My family's food was cold and needed to be refunded. No seasoning on the food and it was also beyond over cooked. read more

We enjoyed this place alot when they first opened. Food was good, atmosphere fun. The young lady today was very nice but the food today was unacceptable. Should have asked for money back. Gumbo very salty and a few just thawed shrimp, still cold, thrown in. Blackened trout(while a great price) had some cajun seasoning rubbed on it, rubber. Giving 2 stars because the place is nice inside and it's clean. Might be an ok place to have a beer and watch a game. The food wasn't good. My coworker and I each got a cup of gumbo. The gumbo has 1 shrimp on top and then tiny diced pieces of chicken and sausage in it. So, pick one? make it chicken & sausage or seafood but not both. It was also very thick so it was more of a stew. All that said, the gumbo was edible so I ate that. My crab nachos were horrible. Melted cheese on chips with lettuce and diced tomatoes on top and the "crab" was just this gray stuff that tasted like rotten seafood. I've never seen crabmeat that looked like that in my life and it tasted worse than it looked. Couldn't eat it. My coworker got the shrimp basket and said it was ok. To top it off crab nachos, shrimp basket, 2 cups of gumbo was $50. I rarely give negative reviews but the 4.5 star rating here is deceiving. read more

The taste was good but the fish had a large dark vein down the center so the taste was a little strong for catfish. The shrimp were nicely fried but for some reason they were tough. Had a chance to stop by on my way through Aransas Pass last week. What a hidden gem! Started with the crab claws and they were big and delicious. I had the shrimp and fish basket with fries and my wife had a fish tacos. Both were a good portion and super fresh. I'm always concerned about getting fish and having it taste fishy. I've been here twice. 1st visit was just ok. Figured I'd give them another chance. 2nd visit was absolutely terrible. I've never seen such poor and inept customer service. We waited 30 minutes on our order, then noticed other people getting their orders that came in after us. No big deal. So we went to the counter and asked. They said "oh, it's coming. We're still working on it". So after another 20 minutes we asked again. They said "it's almost ready". So then we just said "nevermind. Just give us our money back". Then as we were leaving one of the employees admitted that they lost our order. Well, they not only lost our order but they lost out on any future business. We went for our first time this weekend and girls were having conversations and using pretty bad language (cussing) until the owners walked in for their grand opening event. Food was tasty. They have frozen margaritas/or on the rocks. The waitress/bartender is very nice and attentive. The only thing I didn't like is that when you walk in you have to order at the bar (for your food and drinks) and then grab your number and sit down but it's not a horrible thing, the food and service goes beyond that.
