The cuttlefish and black ink rice entree, as well as their octopus, tomato, almond, and capers appetizer were artfully executed. They have a couple outposts in Italy and this is their first venture outside the country and it is a huge hit, especially with the neighbouring Italian competitors. At first I thought it was another place that would shut down 6 months later, but I have found myself back here time and again, each time saying "this is THE spot, the best local!". I recommend just putting your meal in the hands of the owner who will most definitely come by your table (there are only about 6 or 7 tables) and order what he suggests as it changes daily. There is always a veggie starter dish that is excellent! Highly recommended, usually consisting of 5 small tasters, and all very well though out. If you have a complex of not mixing fish and dairy (with the obvious exceptions) this place will change your mind. When I was 20 I went on a study abroad program called Semester at Sea, and as you can imagine... seafood was on the daily menu for six months. After one month of eating the only non-fish alternative (peanut butter and jelly), I gave in. And I still haven't forgiven myself for wasting a full month not eating the most amazing, fresh, delicious fish I've ever had. The reason it was so fantastic was that it was sourced directly from local fishers at each port we called at, so mahi-mahi in Cuba, piranha in Brazil, skate in Cape Town... all the way around to king salmon in Alaska. My fish from Chelsea Fishmonger brought me right back to my earlier experience. So fresh, so local, so delicious. And most importantly, so ethical. I spoke with an employee for about 20 minutes about their fishing practices which involve, among other responsible things, only stocking fish caught by softer inshore non-destructive fishing methods. It's a lovely fish mongers with great quality fish offering a knowledgeable and helpful service. It's more exensive than your local supermarket but the the difference in quality is obvious in taste and service.
