The room decorations always entranced me as a child. However Dr. S is not mindful in the way she speaks to young girls. I went in for my required physical before freshman year of high school. I was 138 lbs at 5'6" and very athletic and lean. She commented on my weight and told me I needed to make sure I didn't gain any more, that the pounds would keep creeping on. How rude. There was no problem with my weight, just her projecting her feelings and her assumptions. Things like that really have an effect on young girls. read more

Dr. Tammi has no "bedside manners". She was dismissive and very clinical...no kind emotions just laptop in front kind for person. She made my daughter and I very uncomfortable. Had never experienced that before. There is no communication between front and the doctor or anyone in the office. At one point I asked the front a question and she told me to go find the nurse assistant (think that was her title?)...I was like, Ma'am! I don't work here and do not know who that is or where her office is. Can you not do that? It was ridiculous! When I finally was over the lack of professionalism and communication I told the lady at the front "I'm leaving, this is obviously not a good fit, I'll need a refund issued." I recieved a call from her 15min later asking where I went because the doctor went in my room and I wasn't there. I asked her if she was OK because I just had a conversation with her before I left. She said Doctor Tammi wanted to know...again that's not my job...she works there and should have commented my less than desirable thoughts about her practice. read more

I saw a comment on here about the doctor being condescending and that she gives advice as if she knows the child. I couldnt agree more. i have only taken my son there maybe 2-3 times for his vaccines and every appointment is the same attitude and b***yness.. Her "advice" made me feel like a terrible mom and basically not doing my job as mother. During the exam, she was rude to my son and honestly didnt seem like she had the patients to look him over... HE IS TWO. After, she told me that he needed to get checked for Lead and some other things through the prick of the finger. Come to find out, you can opt out of that but i was never told that. so my son FOUGHT AND FOUGHT to be let go. Luckily, the nurse in there was so patient and trying to calm him down. Dr. Schlichtemeier has been my kid's pediatrician for over a decade, she is a fantastic physician, with the knowledge, skills, and experience second to none. I recall a visit when my first son fractured a foot bone, Dr. Schlictemeier, did a physical exam and was able to tell me the exact bone fractured even without an X-ray, of course, the X-ray results confirmed her diagnosis. I highly recommend her to anyone who is in need of the best pediatrician in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. I have also had very good experiences with her clinic staff especially Faith, who happens to be my favorite front-desk staff, even though she no longer works upfront at the office :) For those who had a bad experience, I recommend you give them a try again because it is not typical of Coppell Pediatrics, keep in mind there is no perfect clinic out there, thanks. It's weirdly validating to see all the other negative reviews here. I've never been wowed by this practice. I agree with a lot of what others have said. A nurse practitioner here made a huge misdiagnosis concerning my child. When I emailed her asking for clarification, she admitted it was by mistake. We ended up talking on the phone and she refused to change the information on his file, citing that since he had already received treatment. The misdiagnosis she made is something that a NP or a regular pediatrician is not qualified to diagnose, a specialist needs to. I have always felt this was unethical. Dr. Tammi is very smart, yes. Perhaps I'm projecting some resentment I have in general about doctor types (including the ones in my own family, haha) but she's condescending and needs you to know she's the smartest person in the room. Hey, she may have gone to medical school - but I am the expert on my child. Agree with other reviewers that she frequently oversteps her scope of practice and offers unsolicited parenting advice. I understand it's standard procedure for pediatricians to cover emotional and social wellness during visits, but I always feel personally judged by her in a way that I haven't experienced with our last practice (we moved here from another state.) Notable: I don't believe she has kids herself. Dr. Tammi if you're reading this, I would suggest you ask consent before dolling out parenting advice. Something like, "Are there any topics related to parenting strategies that you'd like my input on?" Would go a long way. It comes off harsh and critical when it's completely unsolicited. Faith keeps that office functioning and is the one redeeming quality. Aside from the NP that made a huge error, the nurses and other NPs we've interacted with have been pleasant. It's close and convenient enough for now, but at some point I do plan on switching practices. read more

This office is completely unprofessional. They claimed I had 6 no shows in 7 days when oddly the office is only open 5 days a week hmmmmm.... I am a single mother raising two kids like most woman, sadly. The front office staff are friendly in person but messed up several times on scheduling. DO NOT RECOMMEND! My newborn also got thrush that went unnoticed for three moths by the doctor who told me his mouth was fine. Dr. Schlichtemeier is NOT the woman you want checking your children. However the nurse practitioner, is great but not worth the amount of stress caused by this office. read more

The absolute best imo. We've been with Dr Tami for 18 years now. We interviewed her when we were pregnant and were impressed. She keeps up on the research so I know her decisions are grounded in science. She has all the info you need. It's never a problem to get in with her or her nurse practitioners (who we have loved). She is awesome. She may not be the warm fuzzy for some parents, but my kid really respects her and she always talks and explains things to him rather than talk down or baby talk. She has been very helpful and there for us - even after hours - when my kiddo went through some funky health issues. I have never felt judged or shamed as a parent when I might have not known something or made a mistake (we all do). Parenting is hard and it's good to have someone like Dr S on your team. read more

I just recently switched pediatricians after giving Coppell Pediatrics 6 months of my business. I have a baby and a 4 year old. I have had billing issues that include being charged for a "dermatology consultation" when actually it was a well visit and the doctor told us how to scrub off the dry skin in the baby's scalp. When I made a stink about it they removed the charge but I shouldn't have even had to do that. A well visit is a time where you can ask the doctor questions without the fear that they will charge you for an answer. The doctor never performed any extra services and spent about 20 seconds telling us to scrub oil on his scalp. My baby was at his 6 month check up and after the "examined" him, I asked for her to look at his (private area) again because it didn't seem right. After I had her look again we found out he had an adhesion that needed to be treated. A 6 month check up should be throughout, not just a look over. If I didn't already have a boy, I may not have known that it looked wrong. I am currently on hold and have been for 18 minutes because both me and my new pediatrician have sent over authorization forms both by fax and by mail to request shot records. I am only requesting these records to be transferred because the Texas shot record system doesn't show my child received two of the necessary shots in order to get the next set. On that same note I had to pester Coppell Pediatrics over and over to send shot records to my son's daycare which took weeks! I switched to MD Pediatrics (also in Coppell) and have only been there for a couple appointments. I am very happy with my decision. Their hours are great (open late and sick visits on the weekend) and I could tell the doctor (Dr. Vani) was very thorough and even showed me how to do exercises with the baby to get him walking. read more

I would give this place 0 stars if I could. I am not one to write many reviews, but this one is a must. The ONLY good thing about this place is that the front staff is friendly. This place has traumatized my toddler. The first time we went there my husband took our child and he said they were alright. 2nd time I took my child in for a sick visit. We were there for more than an hour with most of the time just waiting on the doctor. She was not warm nor welcoming. She checked my son's ears and said she'd be back. She came back with her tool and started digging in his ears. Mind you he was SCREAMING and she DID NOT care, just continued. Then she made a comment about giving my son allergy medicine. I told her I called the office about a month prior to ask if I could and I was told no due to his age and his heart rate increasing. Automatically she began to tell me the office drama and assumed a woman had told me that. Said she was pretty sure who told me that and that she would no longer be working there as she was misinforming parents and saying things she was not supposed to be. I couldn't believe it because who says that to a patient and also she was wrong. It was a man who told me that. After she checked him and what sounded more like lectured me rather than educated me on what to do at home for him she left and had the nurse draw blood from his finger. The male nurse did not whatsoever try to make my child feel as comfortable or calm to prepare him for the finger prick. Instead he was very forceful towards him as he was drawing the blood from his finger. After this visit I needed a school note so my child could return to daycare and they took 3 days to send it. Even though I had already asked for it while we were at the clinic and they forgot. We switched to this place because his old doctor left the clinic and this clinic was much closer to home. My son used to be calm and sweet at the doctor's office and now he won't even let the nurse or doctor touch him without freaking out even though they're all SO SWEET AND PATIENT with him. Bringing him here was a huge mistake. I hope not everyone experiences what we went through because our children don't deserve this type of treatment. read more

Dr. is great but the staff is horrible. This issue going on for more than 6 months. I call and ask for a vision and hearing report for kids school, as my kid portal not working, as staff created 2 profiles with the wrong DOB, after wasting my hours, I find out staff lost their reports. So I need to go to the Dr. Office again in pandemic with kids. I ask for the office Manager but the lady told I am helping, you get the reports @ the end of the visit and no charge for the visit, as is Dr. Office's fault. I took my kids there and get tests but didn't get the reports, told me I will get them in the email on file. I called after a week and wasted my hours, no one knows what I am saying? We can't see reports when you came here? I ask again for the office manager, staff didn't want to transfer, keep saying I will try to help. Finally, one lady told me I found the reports are uploaded in bulk, I am emailing you. Didn't receive it till today but on Thursday received a bill for this service and insurance refused as is once a year deal, so I have to pay for it. I called the office and wasted my hours again and again staff didn't want me to transfer to the office manager or Dr. but told me to go throw with insurance and try to run as backdated. I can't hold my anger anymore and finally, she said I am transferring to office manager but I end up billing person VM. I left the message on that #, if I didn't get the call back I will go to media but still no callback. I didn't want to take my kids back to that creepy place but if they didn't fix my billing issue I will go to authorities as well, to show how they making money in a slowdown in a pandemic. Coppell Pediatrics is probably the most and worst pediatric practice I have ever encountered. I am very hurt and upset with my choice in this practice for 6 months I had to deal with this rude and horrible practice. Dr. Schlichtemeier has been ignorant and has talked down to my mom and me acting as if we are uneducated. Both my mom and I have college degrees.My son had a high level of jaundice and she told the Las Colinas Medical Center that it was not necessary for them to administer another jaundice test. When my sons level was a 12. She is very frugal and cheap. She also told me that I needed to be put on medication for my anxiety because I was anxious about my sons health. What first time mom is not anxious or worried if her kid is growing and being healthy ? I guess she thinks she is a psychiatrist on the side as well . Marybell the medical assistant who is a hispanic woman who is pregnant and wears thick black glasses is very rude and judges you without knowing facts. Dr. Schlichtemeier having a doctorate degree can not even fill a proper form. I had to get a form refaxed twice because of inconsistencies. My son has gained 2 pounds since October 2nd, to January 6th, 2016 which was his well check up according to Dr. Schlichtemeier that was totally fine.REALLY!!!!! 2 pounds in 2 months for a growing boy is nothing.I recommend no one to go to COPPELL PEDIATRICS as Dr. Schlichtemeier does not care and really is arrogant as anything, she has no compassion, she is monotone and is bitter.The staff are rude, the only people that deserve credit are Faith who works in the front office and Chaquel who is the Medical Assistant they have only been good to me and my son. I have never written a Google or Yelp review for anything before, but I felt compelled to do both for Coppell Pediatrics because I am shocked at the low ratings and I think this practice is great! My daughter, who is now 16, has been seeing Dr. Schlichtemeier since she was born. Twice she diagnosed what could have been a very serious case of pneumonia when I was thinking it was just a cold with a low grade fever. At first I wasn't sure about her bedside manner, but over the years we have grown to love her, and more importantly we trust her medical judgement completely and could not ask for a more talented or qualified pediatrician. I have been taking my kids here for almost 8 years. They literally saved my youngest life after being sent home repeatedly by Children's ER. They also diagnosed a brain abnormality that had been missed by 3 other doctors. One of the PA's that has since moved helped my oldest get over her fear of doctors after being traumatized by previous ones. I've never had a problem getting an appointment or paperwork done. I can't say I agree with some of the non medical things that I've heard from Dr S but I feel confident in her ability to diagnose and treat my kids. read more

Dr. S does not seem friendly to the parents nor children. As soon as i am able to find a better Pediatrician i will be removing both of my girls. I chose this place due to the location. I have been taking my kids here for 3 years now. I have three kids who get sick all the time. When I first started visiting this practice. They were awesome. I could always call first thing in the morning and get my kids seen. Lately, this is not the case. They are rude and don't care. I feel like my kids have just become a number to them. One time my daughter had a well-child visit first thing in the morning. I showed up 15 minutes early and waited for them to open the door. I went in and checked in and mentioned that my other was sick and asked if they could look at him. They said their schedule was full and they couldn't squeeze him in. I was the ONLY PERSON IN THE OFFICE and they refused to see him until I got cranky. It took them 5 minutes to take his temperature and run a strep test! There is one specific lady in the front office who is always cranky and rude. I took my daughter in this morning for an ear infection and when we were leaving my little boy asked if he could have a sticker. The lady told him, "No, they only give stickers to patients." I have been here over 40 times and NEVER once have we ever been refused a sticker. It is a FREAKING Sticker. Who cares! Its not about stickers. It is about the fact that they just don't care. If they have filled their quota on kids, they will turn you away. Your kid is just a money sign and if they have filled their schedule, well let's just hope its not serious. Overall experience with Dr Schlichtemeie is just Ok. Few observations and concerns: 1. If you expect a friendly greeting and a warm smile from the doctor upon visit, look elsewhere. I also have noticed many other reviewers have mentioned the similar feelings. Is Dr Schlichtemeier rude as mentioned by other reviewers - i definitely felt so. Does she talk down to parents and act as if we are uneducated (again as mentioned by other reviewers), i definitely felt so (i wanted to scream 'hay both me and my spouse have masters degrees and are highly educated' :(. but then chose to ignore her). Does Dr Schlictemeier speaks to parents in a condescending manner. In my experience, definitely Yes. 2. Office visits are expensive. I have been paying 30 to 40% more than previous pediac. 3. Most concerning is your child is seen not by the Doctor but the nurse practitioner, unless otherwise you specifically demand to be seen by Doctor (while scheduling, they didn't even give me the option). You are still charged at the same rate (no discounted rate for being served by much lesser qualified professional). I personally found nurse practitioner not at all qualified for the job. She changed her statements (regarding diagnostic and medicines) couple of times in a span of less than five minutes. read more

Today was told my office manager Jessica that I was charged 114.00 for a office visit when I went for a wellness visit for my daughter. So you mean to tell me I have to pay for a wellness visit and a office visit it was the same appointment. now I feel like I have to fight with the owner who I was told by Jessica don't deal with billing. I wish there weren't a star star. DO NOT SEND YOUR KIDS HERE. Each time my son has gone to this Pediatrician he has been misdiagnosed. They treat us like we are second hand citizens. Dare not miss an appointment because they will discharge you indefinitely. The school nurse was able to diagnose my son with his hearing problem whilst the nurse here couldn't detect anything!!! We went to CP twice to get a hearing test. The first time they told me he had wax. Well, I knew that was a lie because his ears were clean they pulled nothing out they washed his ear out with water for 10 minutes and nothing. He left the office and continued to complain so we went back the following week and requested a REFERRAL for a second opinion. We went to the referred physican and apparently my son had hearing loss in one of his ears. GREAT! Thanks Childrens alas a professional oppinion. It is now NOVEMBER of 2015, 7 months after our visit where my son was wrongly diagnosed, and here I am giving this Office another chance to help my son with yet another ear infection. I call to schedule the appointment and what do you know we have been discharged from the practice??? HOW!! my last visit was for a referral!! The story they gave me was the receptionist that checked me out scheduled a follow up?? Really? Why? We simply made the visit for a referral. This receptionist no longer works for this office so of course its my word against theirs. I honestly can give a rats ass at this point. The Doctors there did not care for my child I was constantly in and out for multiple visits because he would never get well, broken nebulizers, mis diagnosed.... I can't with this office. We just moved to Texas from California a few months ago and our experiences with Coppell Pediatrics has been absolutely and completely disastrous. The staff, the doctors - everyone one there is rude and unsympathetic. They have terrible bedside manners and are always in a rush. A lot of parents i have spoken to, myself included, do not feel heard at all by the doctors. And lets face it, you are nothing if you are not caring and understanding where children are concerned. What happened today just makes me livid with anger - I call at first thing at 8 am when they open to explain my daughter's illness and see if the doctor wants us to come in. I leave a voicemail (as usual) and no one bothers to return my call. I call back at 12pm. They tell me they will call me back after lunch(!!!) At 2pm the nurse calls back but she has completely misunderstood the situation - i fill her in all over again - and she says she will call me back after talking to the doctor. At 3pm my child's condition worsens. I call and explain what is going on and ask if i can bring her in - the nurse tells me that the doctor thinks she needs to be seen but they cannot see her - I am given the phone numbers for two other pediatricians (one in Flower Mound and one in Lewisville). What the hell kind of doctor dosen't see her own patient but sends them to other pediatricians in neighboring cities???? Closing time is at 5 pm. What the hell kind of doctor turns sick children away two hours before closing???? I am a Doctor's wife - i know good medical practice from bad - and this is APPALLING!!! I urge everyone out there - stay away from this place. They give medicine a bad name. read more

She also oversteps her role has health practioner into the parent role. Children are present during discussions about health issues that should only be discussed by adults. Dr. Schlichtemeier has been my son's pediatrician since last fall. My poor review isn't for the Dr, but for the practice itself. The front office staff specifically. Coppell Pediatrics has the worst front staff possible. I've had several issues with the staff, like scheduling an appt for my very sick son who has Rheumatic Fever, and getting turned away because I didn't have the actual insurance card on me when I rushed in with a very sick child. They have all his insurance information. They can easily verify its active. I even tried to pay for the visit out of pocket, and wasn't given the option to. Instead Faith very rudely shrugged her shoulders, gave me a blank stare, and looked at me like I was speaking a foreign language. Yesterday, they called me 15 mins before my kids' appt while I was in the parking lot to let me know ONE of my kids missed the appt.... even though I got a call and text confirming the time of the appt. I will not be going back, simply because I really have zero time to deal with incompetent staff. It's really sad, because I absolutely love Dr. Schlichtemeier. I love her straight and to the point attitude, because I have zero time to waste. And I am perfectly fine with her stepping in and explaining to my kid why he is sick, and what he needs to do to prevent it from happening again. And for the first time parents freaking out, come talk to me when you have your second and third kid... you'll appreciate the straight and to the point attitude. She has never been rude, or condescending in anyway. I have never felt like she has been disrespectful, and she is most definitely not racist. I'm very pleased with this practice! Being that I have a newborn (my third) I see/contact them frequently..They always happily answer my questions and concerns without making me feel silly.. Dr S. is very down to earth and does have a good sense of humor. I enjoy having a Dr that is very honest and I can easily relate too.. Very pleased with Lori Cashmere -the PA. ( we haven't had much experience with the other PA, but I am sure she is just a great! ) The front office is great and friendly..Lately we having been racking up our frequent flyer miles here lol and never anything but a positive experience...BIG BONUS--never had a long wait time..our last ped was great but the three hour wait was hard with kids. overall wonderful practice.. read more

Great staff and fantastic Doctors! Always willing to get you in when there is an emergency and thorough with their exams. My kids are comfortable there. My only complaint would be their appointment reminder system that sends a message to your phone the day before... It only says "your child has an appointment tomorrow at Coppell pediatrics" Now, with myself having three children and some visits are scheduled a year in advance, it would be nice to hear the time and name of the child that is scheduled! We've had nothing but great experiences at Coppell Pediatrics. Dr. Schlictemeier has been incredible with both of my children. We were going to MD Pediatrics and my daughter had a chronic cough. They told us that there was nothing they could do to fix it. Dr. Schlictemeier said that's ridiculous, ran a few tests, and my daughter was diagnosed with reflux. Both of my kids have had blood drawn in the office and it was quick and easy for both. My daughter did cry and was upset, but my son didn't even realize they were doing it and it was all done! I normally don't leave reviews on here, but I was searching for my doctor's phone number for school forms and I saw the above bad review. I'm sorry they had a bad experience, but we've been going to this office for 5 years and have had nothing be great experiences with everyone in the office. read more
