Both of my kids have been going to this practice for nearly four years, and up until now, we've had nothing but great experiences. But after what happened today, we're having to reevaluate and will likely find a new practice. I had a 5:10 PM appointment for my nine-month-old daughter, who hasn't been feeling well, and wanted her to be seen before tomorrow. I left my office early but hit unexpected traffic. I believed there was a 15-minute grace period, but I called the office at 5:00 PM--just to confirm and give them a heads-up that I might be a few minutes late. After ringing for two minutes, no one answered. I pulled into the parking lot at 5:18 PM, unloaded my daughter, and walked in around 5:21 PM--11 minutes late, which I later learned is one minute outside their 10-minute grace period. I even waited while they finished checking out the patient ahead of me. The man at the front desk went ahead and checked me in. But moments later, I overheard three staff members in the back discussing whether they would still see us. I stepped around the corner to let them know I could hear them and explained that I'd tried to call ahead but couldn't get through. Instead of offering any understanding, they argued with me, saying I walked in at 5:24 PM, not 5:21 PM. Mind you, I stood waiting while they finished with the person ahead of me. The fact that they were willing to argue over three minutes to prove their point was infuriating. I wasn't asking for anything unreasonable--just to have my sick baby seen after a long day. I appreciate a good policy and understand why rules are created--to keep things running smoothly for everyone. But here's the thing: I tried to communicate. I made every effort to call and let them know I was running late because I wasn't sure if the grace period was 10 or 15 minutes. Had someone answered and clarified, I could've made other arrangements for my daughter to be seen. After I left the office in tears, my husband also tried to call to discuss the situation--again, no answer. The fact that we couldn't even get through to discuss our options is what makes this so frustrating. We are both working parents, doing our best to juggle work, traffic, and taking care of our kids. And I know the nurses and doctors are doing their best too--they deserve to get home on time to their families. But at the end of the day, we're talking about one minute. When the grace period has no grace, what's the point in calling it that? Even more frustrating was that the two women who made the decision never spoke to me directly. They left the man who had already checked me in to deliver the news. We've been loyal patients for almost four years, and I can count on one hand the number of times I've been late--always respectful of their time and policies. But policies aside, there has to be room for empathy. For flexibility. Especially when a parent is doing everything they can to get their sick child care. We ended up going to a nearby urgent care, where they saw my daughter right away, diagnosed her with croup, and got her treated. I share this not to discredit the care we've received in the past, but as a reminder: empathy costs nothing, but it means everything. Especially for families just trying to do their best. read more

We have been loyal patients for 4 years. We love seeing Becca. Unfortunately Becca has been out recently. Their empathy has been out the window ever since. I was 11 minutes late for my appointment for my daughter yesterday and they chose to not see her for this reason. She later was diagnosed with strep and could've benefited from the medical attention. read more

RN Kim and Stephanie are kind and knowledgeable, however when I can't get an appointment with them it's always a waste of time. Long waits, very unkind staff with vague diagnosis. After waiting 45 minutes we were told that our daughter might have a flu, or a cold, or a respiratory infection!? No tests, no prescriptions! The nurse was so rude and clearly doesn't like kids! We are looking for a new place with kind and knowledgeable doctors and nurses. read more

Very bad experience. Very disappointed this office is money hungry scheduling is harder than winning a gold medal. I really am very disappointed. I had high hopes for this doctor. The doctor is probably decent. Just the fact they are after late fees and scheduling is a joke if you're one minute late, they want a late fee and they will cancel your appointment. My kids have been going to this doctor's office (primarily seeing Dr. Holt) for over 12 years and unfortunately saw a HUGE decline in service, wait time, communications, care since Dr. Holt left the practice. Wait times of close to an hour, no communication on flu clinics, constant changes on how to log on to the medical portal, and very hard to get sick appointments (most of the time only nurses available instead of doctor's and they charge the same). Last time I was there, the office was closed and when I called I was told "sorry, there was an emergency and we had to close...they should've called you". Last straw....I had a sick child and when I called to make an appointment, I was surprised to hear they no longer accepting our insurance (Anthem BCBS). No communication at all, just a surprise when I most needed the care. Very disappointed but I guess this was just the final sign that it was time for our family to move on to better service and care. I would not recommend this place to friends and family. read more

This is the worst doctors office. They are only after your money they do not care about their patients. They're quick to charge you if you are two minutes late. If you want money, you should've gotten in the casino business instead of medical business. I will never bring my family back here again I am extremely disappointed. This is the first time I've gone to the Coppell location and everyone was great. Becca and Samantha were very engaging with my son and kind. They did everything they could to make him feel comfortable even though he can be painfully shy. I appreciate the time and effort they put in to be thorough. read more

Dr Kinkaid is outstanding. She was my pediatrician 20 years ago and is now taking care of my 2 babies. She is very warm, considerate and makes you feel comfortable. She explains everything to your understanding. Her nurses and staff are also kind and helpful. I would recommend them to anyone. read more

We relocated to the area about a year ago and I was so sad to leave our old pedi fearing we wouldn't find a group as awesome and flexible. SO HAPPY TO HAVE FOUND MD PEDIATRICS. We have seen several of the drs and nurse here and haven't had a bad visit. Several visits have been emergency visits. They have several locations, late hours and are open Saturdays which is important when you have young ones. Our favs are Dr. Kincaid, Nurse Carol and Anna Marie. All three have been very understanding and respectful of our parenting practices and haven't pushed any decisions we weren't completely comfortable with. read more

Last time I got there I had to be there for 3 hours only to get a physical done for my daughter plus they treated me with such an attitude. Also the receptionist had me waiting way to long they have done this 4 times. All of the good doctors are gone, such a bad place. read more

What a terrible terrible experience. Took two kids for annual well check. RN Amanda Whisnant checked both kids. She wasn't thorough and misdiagnosed my son with undescended testicle. She ordered ultrasound and told me to see a specialist elsewhere. Couple days later, I see a specialist and he was able to locate both testicles in 2 seconds without ultrasound. Due to MD Pediatrics' misdiagnose, I took half day off from work to see a specialist and I paid $150 to see this specialist. How can I trust MD Pediatrics again? Will not return again. read more

My son has been sick and I just can't get a nurse to call back. It's been over 2 hours and Morgan has a bad attitude. She didn't ask to take my sons name to see what's going on or anything. She gave me nothing but roadblocks and absolutely no desire to help. She just said "they must be busy." I said "can I please talk to a floor nurse?" She responded with "no, they are busy too, seeing patients." I asked to be transferred to the flower mound office and she refused. She has zero sympathy and even if she was following her job protocol to a "T", she should at least show a little compassion, after all, she IS working in a place that's supposed to care about sick children! read more

We have used these pediatricians for the last 6 years. They are always willing to get us in when it is convenient to us. They offer Saturday hours and late evening appointments. The nurse practitioners are very knowledgable and helpful. They always give us the attention we need and address all of our concerns. I love that they have a sick entrance and a healthy kids entrance. This helps keep the healthy kids away form the sickly kids while waiting for the doctor. read more

This place is very shady - they constantly bill things to the insurance in a way that they collect more money. My oldest daughter had a wellness visit that was supposed to be free based on our insurance but wound up costing us $55. The codes they used to bill the insurance were not covered at 100%. They are exploiting a loophole by coming after patients for the gap between billing rates and contracted rates. We've had several instances similar to this where we owe extra money despite having HMO copay rates. We have NEVER had problems like this with any other doctors ever. We had been taking our 3 girls there for 8 years but this recent crap is sending us to a new pediatrician. read more

I went to the office to have a health statement signed by the dr for my daughter's daycare. I went back and Brooke Ward and a blonde girl at the front of the well visit side made everything way more complicated than it needed to be. First of all, one of them stated that I did not sign the form correctly when I had, claiming "I was on the phone". When I said that it doesn't make sense to sign twice, the front girl stated "Its YOUR daycare". In the end, she had me sign a line I WAS NOT SUPPOSED TO SIGN which incorrectly stated my child had chickenpox when she never did. Afterwards, they claimed I needed to use the portal when in fact coming in person is my choice and easier for me. I do not appreciate the condescending behavior shown by Brooke Ward and the front desk girl. I hope they learn to treat people with respect. read more

After numerous issues I had with this practice, I finally reached my 'tipping point' and signed my children up with '18 and under' (who have been fantastic and a totally opposite experience to MD Pediatrics Flower Mound). My child wasnt feeling so I took them to the clinic to see if they were sick. My child and I l walked inside and signed some papers that asked me what were my child symptoms. Five minutes later the docter called for my child and the docter weighed, measured, and checked my childs temperature. The docter then said that they had to do a strep test on my child to make surethey didnt have strep. The doctor got a popsicle stick and a cotten swab to do the strep test. The doctor then forced the cotten swab to the back of my childs throat even when my kid was gagging and was about to throw up. The strep test came back negative so they said they need to do one more test which was the flu test. The doctor got a new cotten swab and and stuck it up my kids nose in both nostrils untill it touched my childs brain. Before the doctor could take the cotten swab half way out of my kids nose my kid started sneezing a storm and snot was all over my childs clothing. The doctor just stood there and said "I must've hit the spot" and left. My child and I were furious as the doctor could clearly saw that my kid needed some tissues for their nose. This was the worst doctor's visit for me and especially my child. read more

We've been going here regularly for the past 8-10 years....before they opened both the Coppell location on Denton Tap and the Flowermound office. In the beginning they were great all around, but in the past year or so things have been on the decline. In October of 2016 they sent us a past due bill from October 2015 for some vague charge that my insurance apparently didn't cover. I have not recently moved and never received a prior bill so needless to say I was confused about how our account was past due. When I called the office to ask why I was just now receiving the bill, i couldnt get a straight answer and was basically told something along the lines of "the system did an annual update and found this charge. If you don't pay it goes to collections." Oook. And being that the bill was less than $100 I didn't think it was worth the hassle of disputing once they reported the collection to the credit agencies, so I begrudgingly paid it to prevent an extra headache later. Fast forward to January 2017, I take my sick child in for a visit and we decide to test for flu. My kiddo has a runny nose, but no cough or sneezing at this time and the MA giving the flu test says "I've got to swab you but just dont cough on me." Really??? Because having a swab jammed up your nose or down your throat doesn't lead to involuntary coughing?? You do realize you work for a pediatrician, correct??? If being unintentionally coughed on by SICK babies and children is a problem for you then perhaps you should either wear a mask or think about changing your profession! On a favorable note, every time I have called the nurse's line I do receive a prompt and courteous return call. read more

We have gone to MD Pediatrics for almost three years. I would see any doctor or nurse in the practice. Waiting time is usually minimal, although I certainly understand delays can happen. Our children do not fear coming here and the doctors use a good sense of humor when dealing with mine. I would recommend this practice to anyone needing a good pediatrician that will really do whatever they can to help you and your family. read more

We have been customers for this particular practice for over 6 year and for 3 kids and have now have just had it with this group. The doctors are ok to good (some are of course better than others) but the office staff and overall policies of this place is simply undesirable. I have been telling my wife for 6 years now that I have a strong feeling that they would rather run this place as a business only and provide healthcare as a means to profits; I am all about being in business but this place definitely puts placing business way ahead of their back pockets. When comparing healthcare today, their policies are much more favorable to $ rather than taking care of patients. Today, we have had the worst of it. Being that it is the beginning of the year, we had not received our new healthcare ID cards in the mail yet but however had an appointment for one of our kids to be seen. The office has called my wife twice already in last 4 days for the new information but due to the holidays and overwhelming activity for health insurance providers around the end of year and beginning of the year, they are backed up and we do not have our new ID cards yet. So what does this place do? They rescheduled our child for an appointment 4 days later. But wait, it's only 2 hours from our appointment time and we had already taken time off from work. But wait, haven't we brought all of our kids to your place for over 6 years? But wait, haven't we paid all of the bills on time with a zero balance? But wait, isn't this suppose to be healthcare? To the last question, answer is they are in business for $ and $ only. No offer to pay out of pocket for the appointment (with us filing the necessary paperwork to get reimbursed later). Just a hey, we can't verify your new insurance so go F yourself and thank you for your continued business. Completely disappointing and undesirable. Again, the Dr's are ok but if you want to be treated like a number and have zero customer service from the staff, this is the place for you and your child. For us, we are going to select another Dr for our kids moving forward. read more

We have been using MD Pediatrics in Coppell for a little over 4 years now. We have two boys. Till now we have never had any problems with the establishment. We were always able to get an appointment whenever we called. All the staff have been friendly. Just recently we have been routinely seeing Dr Vani Venkatachala and we are so pleased with her level of care. On occasion we would have to wait but overall we are in and out in a timely fashion. We have seen this group for 18 years. Recent changes such as surcharges for evening appointments, $50.00 same day reschedule fee, numerous visits required for same issue when other practices do not have all these rules. Then today I called and was told I had to pay $50.00 reschedule fee BEFORE I could schedule another appointment was my breaking point. I have never refused to pay a bill in the past nor been turned over to collections, after all these are all your rules, which are 110% financial and could care less about the patient. If he needs seen again so badly why are finances placed above all else? Life happens MD Pediatrics and apparently a loyal family that has been seeing you almost 2 decades matters so little, we will find a practice we do matter with. **revision** Additionally how many times have we waited literally HOURS while you are "running behind" waiting to practice your medicine on our children? My name is Jimesia Beaty. If I could give zero stars, I would. I arrived at the doctor today with my two children (18 months, 7 months old). The first time I came to the office, there was a load of paperwork to be done. I filled it all out with no problem. When I came into the office for today's visit, I was quite irritated with having to fill out the same paperwork. I asked the front receptionist Julie Q. if the paper was medically necessary because I filled it out last time and I still have the copies and I asked for a manager. Dr. Laurie Feeley came to the front desk. She then (rudely) informed me that If I did not fill it out my children would not be seen. Fine. I filled out the paperwork and asked for a phone number to corporate as well as copies of the previous questionnaires because of their unprofessionalism. They gave me the phone number 972-957-3000 for corporate. After calling, I returned to the front deak informed them that this was not a corporate number but the phone number to another doctor's office. Dr. Feeley then came out of her office with an attitude and stated "That's the only phone number we have for corporate, how about I just call Medicaid on you for non-compliance." How did I not comply if my children were seen and serviced? I mean after all Dr. Feeley, you were the one who informed me that If I didn't conplete the paperwork my kids couldn't be seen. This woman and her receptionists were plain out rude and unprofessional. She even had me escorted out by security after I looked around the office, obtained the real phone number to corporate on a piece of paper on the wall, and initiated the call to make my complaint at the front desk. I did not raise my voice or use any type of profanity towards anyone in this matter and I will be seeking legal action. How dare you threaten to abuse your power and submit false information? I will be speaking with an attorney as well, all of the nurses that were there can attest to the entire situation. Needless to say my kids will never go here again. I've been calling since 3:00 this afternoon and my husband and I were told my the nurse as well as the operator probably four times up until 7:45 pm before they closed that "they assured me it would be called in before they left". Here we are at 8:30 and it was never called in. Coming from the medical field, this isn't the first time this has happened to us. We will definitely be looking for a new office. read more
