What initially drew me in was the sweater selection. Coming from the Midwest (Chicago), I'm always on the hunt for a unique, well-made sweater, and Remedy absolutely delivered! Browsing the store is effortless--they organize their collections by color, with dedicated blue, pink, yellow, etc. sections, which makes shopping fun, easy and visually satisfying. Beyond apparel, Remedy offers a wide variety of home items, including décor, books, gadgets, ornaments, etc. They even had a selection of LABUBU ornaments figures in every color-- of course, we bought one! I ended up purchasing a sweater and have been loving it during Chicago's arctic-level cold these past few weeks. I was impressed by their eclectic collection of unique and culturally inspired items. The store has a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere, and things are artistically displayed . From handmade crafts to global artifacts, the store offers a diverse range of gifts that celebrate different cultures. We ended up finding quite a few fun things that made great presents . Prices are slightly higher because I am assuming a lot of it is exported .

She said her shop has been open for 20 years, with 8 years at this particular location. Still, it's a fantastic shop to find small toys, gifts and stocking stuffers for the littles. Everything from books and games, puzzles, stuffed animals, blocks and bricks, rubber figurines, finger puppets, fidgets, dice, gag gifts and, yes, true to its name, lots of wooden toys in various forms and functions. Need a rubber band gun, or a prop plane powered by a similar elastic engine? This is your place. As someone who has recently become a father for the first time (and maybe this is the curmudgeon in me talking), but toys that provide hands-on, analog stimulation are far more enriching and engaging that the endless, mindless crap spit out by the algorithms behind YouTube and TikTok. The Wood Shop is the kind of store that specializes in the types of toys that were popular before smartphones became the ubiquitous child distraction devices that they are today. As the name suggests, it's a Christmas themed store that truly does justice to Christmas. It may actually be adequately name the nutcracker store as the selection of nutcrackers here is unlike anything I've ever seen. Do you need a nutcracker it looks like the mouse from the ballet? Got it! Do you need a center nutcracker? We've got that too. Do you need R2-D2 his nutcracker form? Not a problem. They've literally got an entire wall of the store dedicated to any and all things that will crack nuts for you. If got plenty of other Christmas related goodies as well including expensive ornaments and other Yuletide pleasantries. To that end, it's an OK place to bring your kids in, but you have to keep an eye on them as just about everything here is very breakable and often outside of a container. I can imagine the you break it you buy it rule comes into play a lot here, but it certainly shouldn't dissuade you from coming and checking it out. Since this is probably the place that Santa comes to shop, you probably should too.
