My cousin and I were on a mission to find unique items hopefully locally made and The Village Alps absolutely did not disappoint. The shop is conveniently located in the Obertal Mall, directly across from the Obertal Inn where we were staying, which made it an easy and fun stop. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted by Nicole, who was incredibly friendly and helpful while we browsed and decided what to buy. The store has an amazing variety of items, ranging from nostalgic candies from childhood to locally made popcorn, pancake mixes, hot sauces, magnets, and so much more. There's truly something for everyone. We ended up spending a good 30-45 minutes exploring because there was just so much to see. In the end, we walked out very happy with our purchases and glad we stopped in. By far my favorite shop in Leavenworth. I spent a long time in here and bought too much but then again, not enough! I found a hot sauce that I found once in Monterey CA 20 years ago and couldn't find since here! I bought a couple of other hot sauces, the most delicious pickled garlic, sweet potato butter, dip shit dip, all wonderful. You have to go here on your visit! Our family has an annual holiday trip over the pass into everyone's favorite Bavarian town. Stoping at the Alps is essential each year however. This thing store is packed to the brim with everything you can imagine for stocking stuffers. We but chocolate, mini hot sauces as well as fun and bizarre soda and candy for our family here. All very reasonably priced and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The only downside is the lack of restrooms. In years prior they've had one but this year it was not available which limited how long we could stay since half the party had to go potty. Hoping that changes soon! read more

We stopped here on our way to Leavenworth. The nice lady that helped us said that they make their own fudge so we bought some and I bought a bag of lightly coated popcorn. We haven't eaten the fudge yet but I nibbled on the popcorn and it is insanely DELICIOUS! Giant size pieces of popcorn that got me wondering where the popcorn kernels came from because I've been looking for some big kernels. The store is so organized and there's even a wall of hot sauces to choose from. There's also an added bonus if you stop here - a beautiful lake that reflects the trees on the water. read more

Village Alps has the biggest selection of taffy I've ever seen anywhere along with very random souvenirs of WA state, Leavenworth, and then totally off the beaten path bizarro things like socks proclaiming "MEAT." Did not buy one thing in here but it was a hoot to look at some of the weirdo stuff they sell. I think I got diabetes for 10 minutes just from the amount of sugar in the air. Didn't see one employee in the place the entire time. read more

I'll give it a 3.5 stars! We did leave with a huge bag of Taffy - it's probably the most taffy I've seen in one place at one time! However after eating them for a few days, most are good but there's definitely some that taste older than others. The store is also so cramped, there's no room to squeeze by anyone or even stand in a line for the cashier. It's definitely not great considering the current Covid conditions, but it is a cool spot to come to get your candy fix. They also sell other small things, but most of it I find to be unnecessary and a bit random. The person at the front counter though was SO friendly and great! read more

We stopped in Leavenworth for the day. Village Alps is tucked one block away from the main strip but it did not disappoint. It's under new ownership. Jason was very welcoming and I could tell he is proud of his store! My boys, 9 and 10, found exactly what they were looking for. It's the kind of store that seems to have a little of everything! All of the souvenirs, candy, and snacks you could ever want. This was my first and only souvenir stop for the day. No need to visit anywhere else. The taffy selection here is absolutely huge. Too many flavors to choose from. It's nice that visitors are encouraged to try 1 piece as a sample. It was tempting to buy all of the stuff I didn't need. They had a wide variety of classic candies and tons of taffy. I purchased some cashew brittle for my husband. He said it was pretty good. They have a lot of interesting items in regards to toys, dragon statues and goblets. I purchased a wolf goblet as a gift as well. My friend purchased a few mini puzzle models. I'm giving two stars because a short brunette woman, I believe owner, kept wandering through the store with no mask. And another man, tall grayish hair, who I also assume to be an owner had a mask that was half on his face and he kept messing with it, like he didn't know how they work. The cashier was very friendly and nice, but his mask was also askew. The store is very tight quarters and as I checked out, the store filled. We then headed out the nearest exit door into a cloud of thick cigarette smoke. The two owners were now standing out there puffing away. Yuck read more

Decided to stop in because my toddler was attracted to the sunglass display. Browsing through the chocolate wall and found some chocolate haystacks. When I looked at the packaging the expiration date said best by 9/19. It's 11/20 today! They are selling old candy. Decided to skip the candy and just get 2 bath squirters for my kid. There was a couple at the checkout counter. The couple literally talked to the older lady working at the counter for 10 minutes. I chose to wait because my kid really wanted the toys. The lady at the counter continued to talk to the couple, without acknowledging us even though we were standing almost right in front of her. After a couple more minutes. We ditched the toys and left. The customer service at this place is terrible. The candy at this place is old and past it's expiration date. The owner of this store should re-evaluate who they hire. You cant make any money if your customers who want to purchase can't because of the lack of awareness and sense of urgency from its employees. This employee needs to be retrained or fired. You shouldn't let other customers wait because you're talking about how kids nowadays do this and that. Your job is to make money and not complain about differences in age groups. This store is junk. read more
