Stopped randomly for brunch on our way to Salt Lake. The food was solid for breakfast, I enjoyed the chorizo scramble, hubby had the Birria plate special, he liked it a lot. One of the area's most popular venues, and for good reason. Top of the list is, it's pretty much the only cafe on either side of Wendover's border that isn't in a casino. Has a nice, cozy, small-town vibe with great service and solid food. You can get traditional cafe fare or Mexican food, and breakfast is served all day. Prices are very reasonable. read more

The Copper Kettle doesn't look like much from the outside. When stepping on of our car we were hit with wonderful smells. We were warmly greeted and told we could sit wherever we liked. The service was quick, friendly and attentive. The prices on the menu were very reasonable. I ordered the chicken fried steak with chicken noodle soup. My husband had a burger with fries. Grandma had a BLT. We were all very pleased with our meals. The food was fresh, hot and seasoned perfectly. The soup was made from scratch with homemade noodles. It was so good. My friend and I stopped in here over the weekend after a couple hours experiencing the great Bonneville Salt Flats at sunrise. We had been up since 4 am and were hungry after getting over 5,000 steps. I ordered the Chile Verde breakfast burritos which came with delicious, crispy-fried home fries, sour cream, guacamole, salsa, pico de gallo, and two eggs any style (I got sunny side up). Every part of the dish was tasty, and my friend noted my plate also looked great. It was a lot of food too! My friend got an order of pancakes with a side of bacon. The dish came with maple syrup in little containers and butter. Though the pancakes looked great, my friend felt they were heavy/dense. The bacon was really good - crispy and not too salty. My only regret was that the restaurant did not have lids for their to-go cups - otherwise I was planning to order a horchata and a coffee to mix together and take away. Plenty of parking and the restaurant is easy to find on the 'main drag' in Wendover. Overall, a nice local joint, better than a truck stop or fast food, full of locals, with a solid Mexican menu plus all the basics/standards. read more

Ended up staying an extra night in Wendover and this was within walking distance of our hotel. They serve breakfast all day long which should be the standard in the food industry, yet so few places do it. The food was very good with large portions. We were hungry after climbing mountains all day and this was what I was looking for. The service was very fast and the folks that work here are nice. Has that old town diner/coffee shop vibe. Amazing fresh made French fries. We stopped for breakfast. Food was hot and yummy. The ham was not to good, cheap and salty. You only get one piece of toast, not the traditional 2 pieces. But the portions were large and we didn't eat everything we ordered. Everyone around us was eating the menudo soup and it looked so delicious. I wish it wasn't made with tripe. Service was perfect. We arrived right when she was flipping the sign to open. Excellent timing. We picked where we wanted to sit. We got waters right away and noticed she was the only waitress. I'd never tried chrizo in eggs before. Waitress said it was her choice. Perfect. Hubby got breakfast burritos and the eggs came on top. Mom got the California shrimp omelet. I got to try it but couldn't get over the shrimp this early in the day. It had good flavor but not my thing. The service was fantastic even as it got busy and she was still the only server. Saw this restaurant and decided to give it a try -- as it was near the Best Western hotel were were staying at for the night. I have to say I was quite impressed with the food and the service! We liked this place so much that on our way back to Colorado, we stopped there again for dinner! All the menu items looked good and prices were reasonable. Portions were quite generous and food was very tasty. What impressed us most was the service which was friendly, attentive and fast. Furthermore, we were really impressed with the server Oz! We watched this young man calmly and very professionally diffused/managed a very difficult customer who was complaining about everything (her table mate was even offended by her attitude). I give five stars to Oz for how he handled that very difficult customer! Both times we were there, we watched Oz efficiently handle the whole restaurant (service part of it). Our hats are also off to the chef in the kitchen who prepared some tasty meals with great efficiency and speed! I will be visiting this restaurant next time I pass through Wendover. Its the food, the service and the reasonable prices here that will keep us revisiting this place! read more

If you have a lowered vehicle, I suggest you not use their parking lot because you will bottom out. The interior was clean, and the employees acknowledge you as you walk in. You seat yourself anywhere then someone will bring you a menu. everyone was pleasant. we ordered: 1. Cheese Enchiladas combo plate with rice and beans $12.95 The taco was the better of the combo. overall was a good deal for the price, portions are good. 2. Grande Burrito with shredded beef. $14.95 This was more like a Mojado Burrito with red sauce, a side of beans and rice. This decent for the price but not a wow this is good. overall was a good deal for the price per portion. We wanted to order the Chile Verde Burrito, but they ran out of Verde sauce. Overall, this place is good. You get more food at a reasonable price compared to the Casinos. This is a non-smoking restaurant so that was nice. the casinos are not and it's like smoking a pack per visit. read more

I ordered the Monte Cristo with a side salad. My salad was iceberg lettuce with a handful of shredded carrots sitting a water. Granted, the lettuce was crisp, but I had to shake the water off before dipping in dressing. The Monte Cristo was meh. A typically Monte Cristo (from where I am from) has a cranberry sauce either on the sandwich or to be spread on. This one did not. The flavor was over taken by bad grease. I could not taste the meat or cheese on the sandwich. I am disappointed that I paid $15 for a sandwich I only ate 1/4 of and a water salad. I do NOT recommend this restaurant read more

The food was good but we had to get it to go. They started cleaning the dining room before close. The hours said they closed at 9 pm and when we went in at 830 pm, there was cleaner and rags on the tables and the mop bucket was sitting by the check in stand. The smell of the cleaning supplies was so strong it made me ill and I had to leave, We had planned on eating in because we had just driven ten hours and were looking forward to a nice meal. But instead, I had to eat my dinner out of a styrofoam container with plastic utensils. If I could make any recommendations, please don't start cleaning until you close. I understand you want to go home but you never know when you might have a customer that is sensitive to cleaning supplies. The food was good, but not great. Food was mediocre. Waitress didn't bring the corn tortillas we ordered, I finally had to go ask for them. She brought me a large OJ when I ordered a small, then wanted to charge me for it. They did not provide a ticket when we were trying to pay and leave, and got irritated when I asked for one. They also got irritated when I asked them to change the price on the OJ back to what I had ordered. I don't see how they have a good rating, my experience there was not good at all. read more
