I usually change the brakes myself, but we were on vacation at our lake house and I did not have all the tools needed and I was worried if I attempted it I may get in over my head. I dropped the car off and told them about the left front issue and before I even got home (10 min drive) had an email estimate. I opened my email and found an estimate for the following: 4 Brembo brake pads 2 Rotors 2 New calipers 2 New wheel hubs All of that was diagnosed in the time it took me to get home (about 10 mins). total cost of parts $981.93 total cost of labor $819.00 after tax and supplies the total price $1884.84 Hard pass on that. Not sure why my daughters edge with 118,000 miles needed Brembo brakes and honestly just curious if they even looked at it or just threw everything they could at it just to see what I would pay. Front brakes/ rotors on my 2022 Ram Rebel were $367.56 out the door downstate a month earlier. We picked up the vehicle and called around some other local shops and found one (Luckily as it was July 4th weekend) and had brakes and rotors replaced for $515.84. Calipers just needed a good cleaning. Shoutout to Daves Garage in Gaylord. Job was done in under 2 hours and we have had no problems with the car since.

We went this morning to the local dodge dealership since we have a dodge eco-diesel and they told us they can't do anything for use since it's from Canada and out of basic warranty. We drove to multiple places that ended up being closed and got referred to upper lakes tire. Thank goodness! Brian was beyond helpful! Even though he said he didn't do much with diagnosing, he came out and ran the codes for us. This is a common problem so he was able to clear the code for us so we can get home and get it back to the dealer who gave us the warranty. To top it off, he didn't even charge us! Thank you Brian and the staff at upper lakes tire, highly recommend!

My brother suggested this place and when I called they said they could get the tires and install them that day (even though it was Christmas Eve if I remember correctly) - AWESOME! I took my car in and they completed the work promptly. I was happy with everything. Fast forward about 6 months and I was due for routine maintenance at the dealership (Lexus). Shortly after I dropped it off, they called to ask if I'd recently gotten new tires. I informed them that I had and they told me that whomever had installed them had broken the hub lock. They gave me the broken piece when I came to pick up my car and it was covered in rust where it was broken, so I believe that they (Lexus dealership) didn't break it themselves and try to pass it off as someone else's mistake. Anyway, it cost me $160 to replace it! Also, they told me that I'm lucky I didn't get a flat while I was driving because neither I or the tow truck guy would have been able to remove the tire due to the broken part. Giving 2 stars because they WERE able to accommodate me during the holidays and I appreciate that. However, to let me drive off knowing (they knew...) they'd broken that part is AWFUL. I could have been stranded! I totally understand that mistakes happen, such is life. But to not fess-up and make it right? Sorry, but that's just bad business.

Not upfront about their prices…read more I called in for a tire change, and was given a quote per tire. It was similar to the price at big stores like Walmart (around $70 for 4 tires). I figured at the same price, I would support more local businesses. Ended up having hidden fees they never mentioned, like to take off the tire... So total costs just to change four tires (just the labor) is $100 with their fees. Walmart is around $70, with lifetime guarantees on things like rotation.

First repair to my F150, they Burned a hole through my exhaust while changing out a O2 sensor, unlicensed mechanic did this....then tried to cover it up with putty. I bought tires for my 2006 mini cooper, less than 12k miles on them, I had a wheel bearing that was in need of replacing, i asked that they change both sides. They didnt even put the correct bearings in, all lugs then had to be changed, and they didnt even use chrome, so im now stuck with steel painted black. At that time the owner admited that the tires were very choppy and said she would call the supplier, she called and was told to rotate them. This solved nothing. . we do this every oil change. When it got so bad, i asked again and the owner refused to pursue a course of action to get them pro rated or replaced...they do not stand behind there products, services or even there own statements.
