This is about the management at Delallo's - insensitive and just gross…read more We bought a few of their sweets and found issues - cookies called butter cookies with no butter, but yes buttermilk; chocolate biscottis brown in color with little chocolate taste. We reported the issues and they offered a check as reimbursement, which is nice. Now they tell us to buy other brands because of our honest comments. Let's look at it objectively ... they have butter cookies with mislabeled ingredients. Shouldn't they thank us for bringing it to their attention and get it correct? That would seem logical and the same holds for other Delallo foods. They do no quality control. They just blame the customer and are unwilling to make improvements. Time to buy Greek brands. They know how to treat a customer with respect, even if once in awhile a product is to the customer's disliking.

My wife and I…read morehave been Delallo customers for several years, mostly ordering from them online, and sometimes purchasing their items in local stores. They always packed the items well and never forgot to include anything we ordered, until the past year. With each order we received, items were missing, cans were dented, lids on jars were loose so that jar contents spilled inside the packing box, and items were no longer packed well. Each time there were problems with our order, my wife wrote to Delallo's customer service team via their website link. Instead of apologizing, they refunded the price of the items that were missing or damaged, which we discovered when reviewing our bank account. Delallo gave no explanation for their order fulfillment errors, no "sorry," no offer to replace the damaged items and send the missing items - they didn't even tell us we'd get a refund. We only found out when we checked our account, which we do regularly. But at least we got our money back. We then had to waste time reordering the same items, and paying shipping again, hoping the items would be intact in the subsequent order. Again, items were missing or damaged, and again, my wife reported the issue to customer service, and again, no apologies. Instead, they gave a long explanation, after several messages from my wife without any response, to excuse their poor service by saying they had several orders received at the same time. My wife told them she wouldn't buy from them again. We were on their email list, and they removed us, which is funny because they didn't even try to get us back. They simply didn't care and took us off their mailing list out of spite. Delallo used to be great, but now their service is lousy, their attitude toward customers is worse, and even more egregious, when the mistakes are theirs, instead of owning up to them, they get angry at their customers! What a sham, Delallo. You have a lot to learn about delivering great service. Not sure what happened to your company, but those who ran it well are obviously no longer employed there.

TL;DR - Solid deli, decent food, and a collegiate atmosphere to tie everything together. Honestly, the place is a 3.5 locale, but the food was really good and the portions were massive. The deli is more than it appears from the outside - part deli, part candy store, part convenience store, and all very welcoming I enjoyed looking around the store as I waited on my food. What m wife and I ordered were the 12" Chicken Philly (me), and the #7 off their board consisting of ham and some other meats I can't recall at the moment, a 12" as well. These appeared as massive, bulging subs filled with everything we asked for. No complaints there. Service was a bit wonky - my sub came out almost immediately, but my wife's order took a strangely long time to make. Not sure as it was one of their run-of-the-mill sandwiches, but it did come out and they were apologetic about the wait. For dessert they have offerings out of a cooler - my wife had a raspberry pie of sorts while I had a Boston Cream Cake. They were fresh and good. In the end, we were both pleased as we had a hankering for subs and we wanted to go local and not big box - the place did not disappoint.

The chicken salad had a sweet taste which was odd. The roll was crunchy but not crunchy from being toasted. Mind you I did not request for it to be toasted. Yet again the amount of chicken salad in the roll was minimal. My wife had an egg salad sandwich on a pretzel bun which looked delicious visually. She stated that her egg salad had a sweet taste as well and the portion size of egg salad was minimal.

The shelves are stocked (but not overcrowded) with this like, jellies, dried fruit, spices and seasoning mixes. Many of the items are bulk broken down into smaller packages, so not everything has all nutritional information. If you're counting calories, carbs, vitamins, etc. this might not be a good store for you. The store was very clean and the staff was very friendly. Bulk items, baking/cooking ingredients, pop, Lancaster chicken pies, ham loafs whoopie pies and more are available and always in stock. They also carry (one of my favorite things) Raw Milk! In addition to groceries, they sell decorative plants as well as garden plants along with outdoor furniture! And, as always, they provide fantastic customer service. The next time you're in Latrobe, do yourself a favor and definitely stop by Lapps Market!
