What m wife and I ordered were the 12" Chicken Philly (me), and the #7 off their board consisting of ham and some other meats I can't recall at the moment, a 12" as well. These appeared as massive, bulging subs filled with everything we asked for. No complaints there. Service was a bit wonky - my sub came out almost immediately, but my wife's order took a strangely long time to make. Not sure as it was one of their run-of-the-mill sandwiches, but it did come out and they were apologetic about the wait. For dessert they have offerings out of a cooler - my wife had a raspberry pie of sorts while I had a Boston Cream Cake. They were fresh and good. Well I decided to come back to the scene of the crime as I'll be leaving Indiana, PA. I gave them a second chance to provide a quality chicken salad sandwich on an 8 inch roll. The chicken salad had a sweet taste which was odd. The roll was crunchy but not crunchy from being toasted. Mind you I did not request for it to be toasted. Yet again the amount of chicken salad in the roll was minimal. My wife had an egg salad sandwich on a pretzel bun which looked delicious visually. Only my second time visiting here but not much has changed since I was last here about 8 years ago. Quick lunch while moving my kiddo into college. This place had an old school charm to it with a big menu. The sandwiches are amazing. We ordered turkey, an Italian and cheesesteaks. All were delicious. They have a ton of chips to choose from if you want some with your sandwich. They have a cooler full of deli salads as well. We shared potato salad and it was also really good. They also had fried foods like chicken tenders, fries, etc. they have several types of burgers, salads and breakfast sandwiches as well. I really enjoyed my cheesesteak. I tried some of the Italian and thought it was delicious also. My buddy told me next time I need to also try the tuna salad. The folks working were very friendly. The prices seemed very fair also. Ordering at first was a little confusing since you order at one counter but then get chips/drinks and pay at the other, but I was quickly straightened out. There's 3-4 tables in the restaurant and then 2-3 on the outside. Our family opted to eat inside which was fun as it gave us an opportunity to look around at all the college pennants that were hung on the wall. Our schools weren't represented (Boise State and BYU), but I did see an Idaho State University one which was cool! I LOVE 9th street deli. I started coming here in college almost 10 years ago. Since then, I've made regular trips back and always stop here. Everything I've had from the chicken parm hoagie to the Italian hoagie is amazing. My favorite is the streak and cheese hoagie with everything on it. I will say since the new owners took over, the sandwiches slightly different. They are a bit more greasy and aren't constructed as well(when you take a bite, it's all veggie, or it's all bread).
