In a move toward general self-improvement, I decided to up my eyebrow game. I had been mostly going to nail salons and getting it done pretty cheap and while the results weren't necessarily bad they weren't all that consistent either. The wax-ists at the nail places tend to favor a thinner brow shape than I generally prefer for myself. I have naturally thick brows and what I'm really looking for is a cleaned-up version of my natural shape with the bushiness under control. It was thanks to Yelp that I found Cora. I liked the idea of going to an actual aesthetician since the goal was doing something a little nice for myself every 4-6 weeks. The salon space is small, really in the lower level of a building under a coffee shop. If it weren't for the sign out front I might have missed it. It's not that far from where I live so I'm not making my little ritual into a difficult errand. Cora is really nice and works with my schedule. I do a brow and lip wax and the price is really reasonable. I have gotten so many compliments on my eyebrows, including from people who either haven't seen me in years or don't normally notice eyebrows. Cora doesn't make them too thin or lop off the tail end on the left side like some of the other places were doing. I get to keep my "natural" look but look polished at the same time. tl;dr all your waxing needs! Very impressed with Cora. She's quick, friendly and efficient. Very good at distracting you from the waxing process and the space is calming and nicely decorated. I had never had hard wax used before, but I like it and she works great with it! She is very on point when it comes to appointments (schedule through an app that reminds you via text/email/etc.) which is handy when you're doing it several weeks out in advance. The location (since right in downtown MKE) gets a little bit difficult when it comes to parking sometimes, but is totally manageable. Will be a return client for quite a while! read more

Cora is seriously the best; I went to her for my very first Brazilian and leg wax and while the Brazilian was painful (it does get less and less each time, I can attest to that now) she was so amazing. Talked to me in an engaging way so I didn't really focus on the pain and she did a perfect job, I was so happy with the results! She definitely has attention to detail and waxes very thoroughly (since I moved I'm in the process of looking for a new esthetician and trust me, I am finding it very difficult to replace Cora!) Her prices are very, very reasonable for the quality of work she does, she's quick but with attention to detail and you can book online using the Vagaro app. She sends out emails, if you want, when she's running specials and she's very flexible. Her place is so adorable decorated, very modern yet comfortable. Like I-would-love-to-take-her-style-and-mirror-it-in-my-own-place comfortable. Wahoo! I saw Cora at her old place and loved her work and saw her again today for my eyebrows. Thankfully, she turned my unibrow into two!! :). Love that she works with your schedule, and even texts! I had an hour long facial with Cora today and it was amazing!! Her spa is warm and inviting and her treatment room is beautiful. The facial... out of this world, really. Pressure for the massage was SPOT ON. It was incredibly relaxing. After my facial was over, she offered me ice cold water and went over the products she used on me and what she recommended for me to use at home. I feel like she was teaching me about the products rather than pushing to sell them. I can't say enough good things about my experience today. I have been into Cora's Beauty Spa a couple of times to get my make-up done for a night out on the town. I showed her a few samples of what I wanted and she was spot on with everything. She provided a crisp glass of wine while we did my make-up and some fun music. I would recommend her for any type of make-up, going out to weddings she is your girl. We even did false lashes the last time I was in for my birthday and they were reasonably priced and looked phenomenal. read more

This review is way past date, but wanted to share in case others had similiar experience. I had purchased the Groupon when they had the pack of three brazilians. I have been waxing about 5 years now, so I pretty much had every experience you can think of. I made my first appt and on my way there realized there was a walk going on so a few main streets were closed. So I called asking for alternate route options and the lady offered me no solutions and that if I cancel it would still count as one of my three waxes. So I turned around and went home, with two waxes left. Second (first) brazilian was fine, no complaints or issues. Cora was definitely fast, but it was not my most detail oriented wax. Before leaving that appt I scheduled my final brazilian. Showed up and had my wax and then when I went to pay I was told it was full priced; I reminded the lady that I had the Groupon, with one wax remaining, and offered to pull it up for her. She said she knew, but that it expired. I looked and it did a few days prior; which I understand is partially my fault but also if you knew that it was expiring why not mention that when I was booking the appt (5 weeks prior) or even before waxing me, bring up that you're expecting me to pay full price...? I was very upset, and they gave me some cort of credited amount/discount towards the wax but it was not "free" from my Groupon. The waxing service was fine, but I would never return because of how I was treated as a customer. read more

Cora is amazing at what she does! She is such a careful esthetician and makes sure to inspect your skin and give you advice on what to do if you have any concerns. I had a concern about getting my face waxed right before going to Noah's Ark and she was very helpful in giving me tips on what to do. I went to Cora with some apprehension because i am from out of state and my aunt usually waxes my brows but WOW!!!!!! I purchased a groupon for 3 Brazilian waxes after reading all of the great review for this salon. The salon is very clean and well decorated, and Cora/Shella are both very nice. The first brazillian wax I received was very quick, but the second wax I received took much longer, and was not fully completed (noticeable patches of hair when I went home to shower). I have been waxing for several years (good, bad and ugly across the country), and both times I was very disappointed with the thoroughness of each service here. Typically I can make it 4 weeks between waxes, but by 2-3 weeks after each wax I received here I was due for another wax. Definitely disappointing, and I don't think I will finish out my groupon package here. read more

I've sat on this for over 2 weeks, and decided even though Cora is a nice person, I'm going to leave this review in hopes she tightens up scheduling and her customer service. I had booked a Brazilian wax the Monday before I left for vacation. This appointment was booked 2 months prior to be sure I had it locked down. I received the email confirmation for my noon appt, and I confirmed it. I show up for my noon appt 15 minutes early to find the door locked. No big deal, she has a sign on the door that says if it's locked, she's with another guest and to please wait. So I do. I notice another woman sitting inside, so I realize oh crap, she's running behind. But that's ok, because I have 30 spare minutes. So I wait. Outside still. And wait. And wait. Around 12:30pm, which is now 30 minutes past my scheduled appt, I realize there is no way this is gonna work unless she comes out now. I have to be to work in 30 minutes. So I decide to knock. Now mind you, no one has come to the door in the 45 minutes I sat there, I only saw the woman waiting in the chair. And when I peaked back in 15 minutes ago, she clearly was taken back for her appt. But I never saw Cora. So I knock, and no one comes. I wait. About a minute later, I receive a text from Cora, saying "I had you with 2 appts today, @ noon and @ 2. I don't know what happened but I'm with a lash lift now, so I won't be done for another 20 minutes, or you can come back @ 2." Hold the f up. So a: you had the same person on your books for 2 appts, and never thought to clear that up in advance? Or hell, even that day when you noticed? Or how about when you went ahead and booked another appt over mine? You didn't think to call and sort that out? And b: how the hell did you know it was me who knocked? Because you saw me standing outside before you took your next person who was inside? So why didn't you think to open the door and explain the situation? Why let me sit there for 30 minutes past my appointment knowing you had given my spot away? Cora did seem to feel slightly bad for this, and offered a free wax "if I ever decide to come back." So she totally conceded to losing my business before I said anything at all. Which I'm sorry girl, but that confirms to me that you were more than happy to lose me as a client. Because that comment, mixed with this "computer scheduling glitch" tells me that my business was not good enough for you to want to maintain. The fact that this all happened 2 days before I left for vacation certainly doesn't help, but it's the general principle of it all that really upsets me. If you have a "glitch in your schedule" call the people involved and work it out. And for gods sakes, if one of those people is waiting outside because of your error, have the decency to confront it head on, instead of hiding in your studio and using a text. read more

I went to Cora for the first time today for a modified Brazilian and I have to say, I was extremely impressed. Cora does a fantastic job-extremely fast but thorough. Getting waxed is not exactly the most fun thing ever, but it's nice that she gets it done so fast, and it definitely wasn't too painful. This was my first Brazilian wax. Even though the space was very nice and calming, once Cora began I was not satisfied. The wax was quick, but it was not thorough, I had an obvious amount of hair left. My skin was not held tight before pulling the wax off which I believe contributed to me not be satisfied with my first wax. She was very nice about making sure I was aware of how to properly take care of the area from now, which I really appreciate. read more
