Run (or hobble) away from CORA In short, the therapists are not skilled for serious problems. I will never go to CORA again. And I recommend staying away. I had a therapy session at CORA 3 weeks after surgery for a ruptured Achilles tendon. Here are all the problems in one session. (1) The front door is heavy and is difficult for someone in crutches. (2) I had to fill out a questionnaire on an IPAD that was for a different type of injury. They apologized but had me fill out the long form standing up while I was on crutches. They claimed that it was to measure my progress, but that was nonsense. They way you measure progress is by measuring the range of movement of my foot side to side and up and down, which they did not do. (3) The waiting area has seats that are linked--think waiting for a plane at RDU. I could not elevate my leg. They told me to come 15 minutes early, so I waited uncomfortably for 10 minutes. (4) When I went back to the therapist, she had me sit on a table with my leg dangling. Eventually, I had to tell the therapist that this position was detrimental to my injury. (5) The therapist gave me no exercises for my injury. After my session I researched the recommended exercises for someone 3 weeks after Achilles surgery and I found several exercises. When I went to Duke Physical Therapy at Meadowmont, 5 days later, they presented me with the exercises I found in my research. (6) Also, when I went to Duke Physical Therapy, they observed how I used the crutches they even had me use stairs. They instructed me on a better way to use the crutches to navigate stairs. My experience was not good. It wasn't bad, just wasn't worth the trouble of driving there. my PT was not attentive. she didn't explain things, she just assumed too much. Seems to me she was working in the wrong field. I will not be going back. read more

I had a very good experience at CORA with Kristen Tucker and her team recently when dealing with back issues. They were very professional and knowledgeable about how to help me. I was delighted to only need five weeks of therapy, having come away stronger and ready to be able to do the exercises at home they recommended. They pushed me to a new level of physical strength and flexibility. They were thoughtful and organized, and I am delighted with my results. My husband has been here for two different problems and Melissa has been really good working with him. She really seems to know how to handle all type of physical therapy issues and really helped my husband recover after shoulder surgery and also with a bad hip problem. Melissa has years of experience and is extremely knowledgeable and is a very caring person. I started going there recently for neck,and foot problem, plus balance issues. I was seeing Jessica and she has helped with all my problems plus when I leave she sends paperwork home with me so I can remember the moves. My daughter started seeing Melissa at around 17 months old because she wasn't walking yet. Melissa determined she just needed some encouragement and was absolutely amazing at finding ways to help build her confidence. At times I could tell it was quite challenging because my daughter was not interested in walking at first, but Melissa was genius at finding creative ways to get her to take steps on her own. Don't listen to crazy people who post weird reviews without ever stepping foot in the door, that's a red flag. This place is fantastic. I've been going to CPT at this location for nearly a year as I recover from spinal surgery, and from my experience you can't find a more competent, knowledgable, and caring team. Bryan and Kristen are both fantastic at what they do. If you're one to get scared off by (necessary) corporate medical legalese in this day and age, you should probably pursue homeopathic remedies at home with a tinfoil hat, just in case. read more

The pre-appointment paperwork package creeped me out. Many red flags - you decide if you would give authorization to: "share health information...with organ procurement organizations" and for research purposes, "photograph, film, or videotape...as they deem proper", tell on you to your physician or insurance company if you miss appointments, cash checks from your insurance made out to YOU, for "assistants" to administer "injections and medications...they believe are advisable", file a "complaint to the Insurance Commissioner for any reason on my behalf". WHAT? Out of 10 pages of very small print paperwork requiring multiple signatures, there was only ONE single question about the medical complaint that brought me to physical therapy in the first place. How many people have signed these without reading them. It's all about them getting paid and you giving away your rights. Patient Beware. read more
