I hired Coral to install a NEMA 14-50 outlet in my garage for EV charging through a referral program. I requested installation on the back wall to service two vehicles; the electrician stated this wasn't possible and installed it near the breaker instead. Shortly after installation, I began experiencing charging issues. I spent months troubleshooting with my EV manufacturer, believing the problem was with the car or the charger itself--not the outlet installation. During this time, I also had a child, which shifted my focus. When I was able to return to the issue, I contacted QMerit, who sent a second electrician company to inspect the work. The inspecting electrician's findings: the outlet installed was a standard contractor-grade NEMA 14-50 rather than an industrial/EV-grade unit, and they identified wiring issues that required correction. The outlet had shown signs of overheating during charging. I have documentation of these findings and the corrective work performed at my expense. In my opinion, this installation did not meet the standards I would expect for dedicated EV charging infrastructure, given that industry guidance from manufacturers like Tesla, Leviton, and Hubbell has recommended heavy-duty receptacles for sustained high-amperage loads. Since QMerit could not assist due to the warranty period, and Coral performed the installation under their own license, I requested from Coral: (1) reimbursement for the corrective electrical work, and (2) a refund for work I was charged for but believe was not performed. These requests were not resolved to my satisfaction. My experience with this company was deeply disappointing, and I would not recommend them for EV charging installations. read more

Asked them to install a TORK electronic timer to control an outdoor light. The wiring instructions were unclear, and possibly wrong. The electrician had the patience, persistence, and skill to work around the poor TORK instructions, and he was able to get the unit working perfectly. The cost for the service was lower than that I had been given by another company, so that was good, as well. But the main thing was that he was able to solve a challenging installation problem. read more

Hate to be that guy but... TESLA OWNERS beware. I received a quote for a simple NEMA 14-50 outlet install. Less than 4 feet from my electrical panel (200 amp main breaker) not a complex install by any means. This company quoted $950. You read that correctly... Nine Hundred and Fifty Dollars. I asked if I could get a price breakdown and was told the price of copper has gone up. I asked about the hourly rate and the other parts that would cause the price to be so high... and was cut off on the phone and told by the manager that they had a meeting and didn't have time to explain it to me. I've since then had the outlet by a licensed electrician for 1/3 of the cost that Coral Electric quoted. Specs for the install: 50 amp breaker, NEMA 14-50R, less than5 ft of 6 gauge copper wiring. TLDR: Stay away from this place for simple outlet installs. They are overcharging EV owners and it's not acceptable. I'll be posting photos later, message me if you have questions. read more

Found Coral Electric on the Tesla site. They asked me for pictures which I provided. I called them a day later and they said that the estimator was out sick. I called again a few days later and was told that they needed more information....... I provided more pictures and answered questions about my circuit breaker and its capacity. Several days later they still didn't respond to me. If you want something installed call another electrician. If you want to waste your time on the phone and emailing pictures to never get a response then call Coral. read more

This company is on the Tesla list as a authorized EV charging installer. Fact is, any licensed electrician can do the job these thieves can do. This company is on average $600-750 dollars more than the typical EV/Tesla charging system installer. I sent a complaint to Tesla about revisiting there list of electricians and how companies like Coral Electric are marking up their profit margins on Tesla clients. read more

They provide free estimates if you can complete a form with 5 easy steps: 1) Picture of exterior meter with rough sketch 2) Picture of exterior main breaker 3) Picture of Interior panel with adjacent panel schedule 4) Wide angle photo of designated area for charging unit 5) Indicate type of charging station desired It sounds deceptively simple, until you realize that not all electrical setups are the same or that you may not be able to easily tell what the electrical load on your main breaker is --because you actually didn't have one! I spent the better part of a week corresponding with Brian of Coral Electric, until I came to the realization that I was willing to pay him his $70 fee to come scope the work in person. I last replied to him on 7/3 and provided several date/times for him to select, but I never heard back from him. Apparently he never returned from his 4th of July Celebration. Do yourself a favor and call a local electrician. Any well-rated licensed electrician can provide you with a FREE in-person estimate and follow the clear installation instructions provided by Tesla. I have tried endlessly to get someone to call me back. When I finally did I got conflicting information, first one quote over the phone, then another that was twice as much. I consulted another electrician friend and found a much cheaper way to do it. Called and asked for a quote and no call back. At one point I was calling daily for a call back. I purchased a voucher for two hours of electrical service on Amazon Local. I scheduled an appointment and Barry came out to install a chandelier in my dining room and check two lights outside that hadn't been working. He arrived early, was very pleasant and professional and he was thorough in explaining why the lights were not working and what needed to be done. He was also quick in getting the job done and was done in about an hour and a half. He was attentive to detail and very careful with the fixtures. He also helped me clean the outdoor fixtures and show me how to properly put them back in place for future light bulb changes. Completely mislead on price for a repair work at a commercial budiling. For a job that they said would be easy and finished right away turned into a 1500 bill. In my professional experience anything over a G should be quoted before the work is completed. I do not recommend, and will never use again.
