The minute we walked in the door it felt so comfortable, for a small store it was bustling. After looking around at the inventory in view, a very nice and professional employee named Marianne came to see if she could give her expert advice. There is nothing that she doesn't know about any part of the inventory or if they do not have it, they can get it. Their prices are very good. Sometimes it is what happens after the sale that really makes a store. We had to change our WiFi in our home and was able to hook up all except our Modern Forms fan that we purchased from Fan And Lighting World last year. I contacted Modern Forms and they were not able to resolve the issue promising that they would get back to me the next day. This happened a few times since I never received a call back. I also tried emailing to no avail. This past Thursday, I called Fan and Lighting World and spoke again with David Martinez who said that while he doesn't have a contact at Modern Forms that their distributor did and he would speak with his distributor. Sure enough yesterday (a day later), Melissa from Modern Forms called and after being on the phone with her for over 30 minutes, she was able to resolve the issue I was having. Thanks again David! A note to all seeing this: David Martinez was our salesman and he spent about 2 hours with us when we purchased our fan, patiently working with us, going over catalogues, etc to help us find a fan that would work for us. read more

I'd like to report the extremely poor customer service in & Lighting, on Boynton Beach Blvd, Florida today. In particular Mark Malmstrom who works for this company. On August 23, 2018, I ordered a ceiling fan and was explicit that I want a remote control. I took almost 2 months to receive the fan. I asked if they could deliver it as I had to climb two flights to my condo. The answer was no however, they would put it in my car. I hired an electrician they recommended who went on vacation the day of installation. The electrician, whose name I will refrain from mentioning sent over to of his inexperienced workers who arrive 2 hours late and argued with me on the time they were suppose to arrive. I asked them how much are they charging me and they didn't know as the owner was away on a plane so they made up a number. When they came to my condo to install it, the said they didn't know how it was too hard for them to figure it out. Huh???? I then hired another electrician and when he opened the box this morning there was no remote control but rather a wall switch. I called Fan & Lighting and Mark said...I can't talk I'm the only one in the store and I'm w working with customers. Hmmm I thought I was a customer. I told him I was returning the fan as it was not what I ordered (even the receipt stated remote control). When I went to the store to return it, he looked in the box and couldn't find some of the parts...I said "they are all there." He found them and didn't apologize. He then asked who checked the box when I picked it up a week or so ago. I said I have no idea. It's not my job. Again, he was arrogant. As he wrote up the credit receipt, he said, " you know, they didn't charge you enough money so I'm only returning what you paid." I said "of course, it's not my fault that they didnt add correctly and I expect to be paid only what I paid. He then said..."Go to Home Depot and buy their crap." I called Home Depot and spoke with the assistant manager and said.."a competitor of yours is bad mouthing your product. Mark also said he didn't have to pick up the phone at 8 a.m. as the store doesn't open that early. I said...the internet said you were open. And yes, if you are in the store you should pick up the phone. I told Mark he would get a very bad write up on the internet. He yelled and said go ahead. I'll give you a bad review as a realtor. First of all, I'm not licensed yet. Second of all, I've never done any real estate service with him. I'm not saying this is a reflection on the owner of Fan & Lighting World. This is a reflection on an employee he choose to hire. I would never recommend anyone to this shop. In fact I ordered "crap" from Home Depot and when I called the assistant store manager, He apologized for the poor service Mark from Fan & Lighting gave me. read more

We recently purchased all of our lights for our new home from Bill & Emerson at Fan & Lighting World. What a positive experience. Very professional and no glitches at all. Its not an easy process.... as we chose lights from many suppliers and had them drop shipped to Texas! Emerson prepared our order to perfection and within a few days, the fixtures stated to arrive. Nothing was damaged as the suppliers packed things very well. In addition, we were kept informed on the status of our order. This was so helpful as tracking so many fixtures could have been a nightmare. The vast number of fixtures they had access to was also a real plus. They carry virtually every manufacturer. If you can't find it there, you can't find it anywhere. Further, you can find anything on line; but the problem with ordering on line, is that you do not know the "scale." Is it too big for the space? Too small? And, you really do not save anything as Fan & Lighting World's pricing was very competitive and for some fixtures, even less than I could get on line. More important, when you are ordering on line for an entire home, it is impossible to get all your selections from one company. We would have had to open accounts with multiple retailers; whereas Fan & Lighting World had access to all of our selections so it really was a one stop shop. Finally, having Bill & Emerson's assistance with selections was/is invaluable. Beautiful choices and everything went very well together. That is no easy task when today's fixtures are so diverse re finishes, colors etc.! Kuddos' to Fan & Lighting World! read more

Prices were fine, But standing behind the products they sell made me feel like I was the customer who was never right. I even had the installer who they recommend to look at one of my fans and his comment was that it wasnt a good fan and the manufacturer was far from the best. he also said that it might possibly work better on a shorter downrod. Needless to say this is not the application which we bought it for. I purchased 3 other fans from them from a different manufacturer and they are fine. This establishment looked at me like I had 3 heads when I complained that the fan was loud and wobbly. Any larger retailer would have taken the fan back no questions asked. here is a case when you try to give the local guy the business and I got the biz in the end. We had other mistakes and they took onus for nothing. read more

Up until last week, I would have agreed with the glowing reviews posted. My first experience (several months ago) was wonderful--friendly, helpful people. Yesterday, I took another lamp in to be fixed. The woman behind the desk greeted me warmly, but the man who repaired the lamp was very gruff. He told me to wait while he completed the repair. When he returned with the lamp, I told him the socket was crooked. He said it would be fine once I added a piece that I had left at home. When I added that piece, the lamp was still crooked and did not work. I returned with the lamp and the extra part. The man didn't even speak to me. He took the lamp, huffed and went to his work bench. He then brought it out to me. Meanwhile, I asked the man who helped me last time if this man was new because this experience was SO different than the positive one I had last time. As I lifted the lamp, the man who repaired it told me to be careful not to hit one of his fans. The nicer man offered to carry the lamp to my car. I now have the lamp home, and it is still crooked! I can't believe how unpleasant (and unproductive) this experience has been compared the absolutely fantastic experience I had before. I will have to take the lamp somewhere else to be fixed or just buy a new lamp. I will lose the money I paid for this repair rather than return to this store. read more
