It is located right off of a lake and is divided into two areas, one for small dogs (less than 35 pounds) and another for big dogs (35 pounds are more. Each area has benches and picnic tables under an awning. They also have water fountains where you can fill your dogs water bowl. In addition to that, there are little doggie obstacles in both areas like an A-frame ramp, and hurdle bars. The park is clean and well maintained. You must have your dog's tags before you are able to use it legally. It is a very nice park and has places to relax and enjoy the lake in the shade while your pooch plays. Currently, the big dog area is closed and only the small dog area is open. They also do not allow pitbulls or dogs under 4 months old This is definitely one of the better dog parks in the area and is worth a visit.

It felt really nice to be able to have a place for the doggies to play and run again. The water fountain inside the big dogs area finally got fixed. I love this park and am so thankful that it's open back to normal now. My dog loves his furry friends that frequently comes to this park too and I love walking around to get some exercise in while he plays. The park staff members that I've encountered through the pandemic so far have been nice, considerate, and helpful. Lately, this staff member has been opening the doors for us, that's so nice! Thank you Tropical Park and Bark Park employees! My dog and I appreciate you all!

It is set…read moreamong four high-rise condominiums, Paraiso Bay, Grand Paraiso, ONE Paraiso, and Paraiso Bayviews in the luxury Paraiso District. The park was created by the development firm Related Group who built the small park for the city in 2019 in exchange for closing NE 31st Street to allow construction of the new district. While it is a City of Miami park, it is maintained by the Paraiso District. There are approximately 7,000 residents living within a 10 minute walk to the park. While this is a park primarily used by area residents anyone is free to use it. Parking for Paraiso Park can be difficult to find but I found a metered spot a couple of blocks down the street. The main draw of this park is the stunning view of Biscayne Bay with a wide brick bay walk. The walkway is part of the Biscayne Line, a 10-mile waterfront promenade connecting Edgewater in the north with downtown Miami in the south. Next to the park and connected by the bay walk is the restaurant Amara at Paraiso, where diners can enjoy outdoor seating with bay breezes. Other park features include a popular dog park, public art, a children's playground with rope climber, benches, water fountain, and an exercise area with three Kompan Fitness Zone machines. I was really impressed by how much half an acre can hold while making the most of the breath taking view of Biscayne Bay.

The fenced in park has benches, bike racks, picnic tables, open area for play and a playground. In 2019 the basketball court was redone with art from D'ana of COVL. Southside Park is primarily used by neighborhood residents to shoot hoops, walk their dogs, or as somewhere to take the kids to play. I really like the large old ficus trees which I am sure have seen their share of Miami history as has the 1905 original Miami High School building which was relocated to the park and restored. As far as parks go though it could definitely use more amenities to benefit the community. Fortunately Southside Park is slated to get a design overhaul by the same firm that designed New York's Highline and which is currently creating the linear Underline Park under the nearby Metrorail. Plans for the improved Southside Park include an enclosed dog run with dedicated areas for small and large dogs, seating areas, water features, public art, playgrounds for different age groups, a new basketball court, space for community programs, and new plants and trees. There are also plans to build the 64-story 1 South Park tower next door to the park. Based on how well the Underline is turning out, I predict good things are in store for Southside Park.

It's a short walk from anywhere in Brickell. There is a convenience store across the street and several other places to grab food, drinks or snacks on your way there as well. Also, Brickell train station is located directly in front of it if you don't live that close. Enjoy!
