My husband was released from City of Hope on Monday. Coram set us up with apparatus including duo feeding bags, a pump and an IV pole, but no supplements to actually feed my husband. Fortunately the hospital had a small supply to last 2 days. Unfortunately...today is Thursday and we still have not received his formula. He has been living on 2 cartons of supplement rather than the 5.4 he requires. To add insult to injury the CORAM upper echelon has decided he doesn't need the duo bags (water and nutrition)...even though he is totally NPO...he cannot get water any other way than through his j-tube. So no food and no water. It's a pretty scary situation and even more frightening that executives are choosing money over patients and doctor/dietitian's recommendations. Coram is a home infusion company. You may not have a choice as often it is your health insurance company that dictates which company they contract with. However if you live in Massachusetts and you do have a choice steer clear of this company. The nurses are great and I have no complaints there but the branch office in Massachusetts is completely confusing and unpleasant to deal with. The various departments that address authorizations and deal with billing do not give consistent information or one department does not know what the other is doing. Although Coram is a National Company and their marketing emphasizes the advantages of their ability to provide services nation wide you will find the Massachusetts branch will not make it easy. If you have a choice I would recommend avoiding Coram in Norwood MA and go with another company. read more

I have been receiving infusion treatments from Coram before they merged with CVS. Since they have merged they have become HORRIBLE and need to be investigated by the NYS Attorney Generals office. You can never get a supervisor as they claim their is NO SUPERVISOR EVER, AND NO ONE EVER CALLS BACK. So recently when applying for Life Insurance I was denied because the nurse who gives my infusion treatment incorrectly coded my bloodwork to Quest Diagnostics as having Neoplasm liver cancer. I have been calling Coram/CVS and sending messages and NOT ONE person has called me back. I am now seeking legal advice since Coram WILL NOT respond. I also will no longer utilize Coram for my infusion treatments. read more

I had Lincare before and the people were nice but the service was terrible. it has been a complete joy to have Judy from Coram call me every month, my supplies are always on time and I do not have to remember to make my order. Judy is absolutely amazing and makes the process so easy for me and taking care of my mother with ALS having one less thing to worry about is amazing. Highly recommend Coram!! read more

My wife is on a feeding tube suppled by Coram. There are so many things wrong with the service from this company. They don't deliver all of the supples and I have to follow up with them constantly. Their employees don't seem to have any understanding of what it takes to put all the parts together for the feeding tube operation. They are argumentative. I talk to one person and get one answer and then someone else and get a different answer. They do not return phone calls. Do not use this company if there is any other option. read more

My wife was placed on Home iv infusion services with Coram and it has been one disaster after another. IV solutions were contaminated and the iv bags were defective. Left messages multiple times without a return call. Deliveries hours past when they were promised and delivering iv solutions with the iv tubing to deliver the solution. Great opportunity in the south florida area for a quality provider of home infusion services to pick up this business. read more

I am ashamed to tell people that I was a former employee of CVS CORAM in Norwood, MA. Their business practice was horrible. They wrongfully billed their patients' healthcare insurance for wrong billing codes. It is known that CVS CORAM wrongfully billed Medicare. (bostonglobe.com/metro/20...) The patients' would get stuck with their bills. Everyday patients would call and complain about why their bills were so high. Do not let them ripped you off. Go file a complaint with Better Business Bureau. ( bbb.org/boston/business-...) The problem is this workplace is a revolving door for new hires. The new hires are not properly trained to do this job. The management would force the new hires to rush through their training lectures, so they can help out in the workplace and also get a better performance bonus. It is utterly ridiculous that the pharmacist would hide their works and brings the work out at the end of the day, which forces the pharmacy technician to work late. This workplace consist of 98% women, constantly gossiping and causing drama. I wish they would focus on their work instead of gossiping. Stay away from CVS CORAM, NORWOOD,MA. read more

My twelve year old daughter requires enteral formula due to significant swallowing difficulties following a nasty little bout with cancer as an infant. For twelve years, we have been ordering from Apria, who, while not great now seem like sepia-tinted memories of happy days of yore. Coram, who acquired Apria last year, is flourescent lighting and dubstep at 5:45 in the morning: entirely untenable. We order formula monthly. It's how I feed my kid. Pretty basic stuff. Received our April order in the first week of the month. Fed my daughter, much to her delight and continued healthy survival. Tried to order formula in the first week of May. They told me that since I had not ordered formula for the month before, that they needed new authorizations. I laughed, and pointed out their mistake: my daughter had, in point of fact, received formula for the prior month, and had been well fed with same. They insisted that this was impossible, as their computer does not show the order. It is now six weeks later. I have received 24 boxes of formula for this timeframe, or slightly less than a five day supply. I have repeatedly been promised overnight delivery of formula, and have not received it. I have been forced to buy formula out of pocket, and thus know that it costs about $400/month at retail. In reviewing insurance claims, I see that for this $400/month product, they bill insurance at $2986.70. And don't deliver. Worst customer sevice. Unfathomable billing that results in worse healthcare for all of us, and higher insurance premiums. A really despicable enterprise. read more

I have literally been hung up on multiple times by this company when they don't want to listen to my concerns about them not sending out my daughters formula which she needs medically. Run, don't walk as far away and as fast as you can from this company. Worst customer service on ALL levels. It infuriates me to know it is ill patients, requiring food that are at their mercy. I was one of them. they failed to deliver food in a timely manner, after begging and broken promises. Thankfully I only needed their services for 2 weeks since my feeding tube was removed early. Now, 15 months after the fact I receive my bill from them! Of course it is for a 2 month time frame, not 2 weeks! Good luck in getting anyone to help resolve this issue. My 10 week old is 100% reliant on an NG tube for all nutrition. Boston Children's set up her initial supplies with Coram and all arrived at our home. Fast forward to The end of November when I placed our first order. I called to place everything, all was confirmed and when it arrived a lot of items they confirmed were missing. Called again and they swore up and down they didn't have my daughter's scripts for her NG tube and that even if they had the scripts for no sting barrier prep wipes and adhesive remover, they wouldn't fill it because you can buy it over the counter. So I call her GI and have them send everything over again and call to confirm they got it. They tell me we have to wait 48 hours. So we do and they tell us they're sending everything and it will be at our home in 3-5 business days. We get our package and they send us alcohol swabs (not what we need) and adhesive remover. So, back I get on the phone. I sit on hold for a half hour and they tell us they don't have the prescription for her NG tube. So I point out they confirmed everything on 12/3 and it's now 12/18. Finally they find it in the intake department who never submitted it for insurance approval. Some super nice (probably the ONLY competent person at coram) tells me she will rush the approval and get the NG tubes sent out asap. We got 1 NG tube and honestly, I assumed that was all we got, nbd we would be placing our January order soon. I called confirmed everything and then told them I needed more NG tubes because my daughter pulled her last one. They tell me they just sent us 4 on 12/18. I tell them they only sent 1 and they insist they sent 4 and therefore insurance won't cover more for 30 days. I throw a fit and demand to speak to a supervisor. They then tell me that they had two boxes that contained my daughter's 4 NG tubes and that ups never picked up the second box so they're giving us 4 as a courtesy. I point out that charging our insurance for goods or services not received is insurance fraud and they hung up on me. Fast forward two days and again, half her stuff is missing and the things that are missing I call about. They tell me they won't send it because they're "no charge items." I point out that I get the invoice and they charge my insurance for said no charge items every month so they talk to a supervisor and finally agree to send the items. Since we still hadn't received her NG tubes I was mid sentence asking for an update and they literally hung up on me again. Coram is the most incompetent, unethical company I've ever seen in healthcare and everyone should run away and check that what they bill insurance for and what they get is the same. They are guilty of insurance fraud and I will be reporting them to my insurance company. I thank God my daughter doesn't need formula for her NG tube because I'm sure that would add to the nightmare with Coram. It shouldn't take literally 14 hours of phone calls every month to get your child's medical supplies. That is absolutely not acceptable for anyone with the medical need. They're incapable of accepting responsibility for anything and have employees who clearly don't know what they're doing and that is likely not the fault of the employees. read more

The fact this company remains in business is just alarming. They have zero care for the patients they serve. My 67 year old mother was discharged from the nursing home after spending 10 month in various hospitals for a major d/t major GI surgeries and 3 near dealth experiences. She is dependent on her J-Tube to get the nutrition so sustain her life. After being hung up on several times after asking to talk to a manager. Being given the run around by numerous people. They demanded she pay out of pocket because " medicare would not approve it". Her primary care MD and the MD that performed multiple surgeries insist they are manufacturing this information. Needless to say she paid for it and still nothing delivered. Finally after 6 days of being without ANY food a currier service drops the supplies on the front porch. That's it! No dietitian, to printed instruction, no guidance. NOTHING! It is the responsibility if the DME to provide education/training to new patients. There is clearly a reason they do not have a google business page because it would be littered with I'm sure hundreds of other people that have had the same poor experience. The nursing home rehab hospital and her PCP have said they will never send another referral to them again. Get the message CORAM, you are aweful people with aweful management, no oversight, no regard for patient health, no quality management program in place. We are changing providers immediately. read more

HORRIBLE, UNACCEPTABLE, CORRUPT! Okay, let me start of this review by saying this is my first yelp review- I literally signed up in order to write a review of Coram HealthCare/ infusion services because they are a shockingly terrible company that I warn anyone that is considering using their services or even if you already are- I strongly advise you to switch companies! My 73 year old father was diagnosed with stage 4 esophageal cancer almost 2 months ago. Because of how aggressive the cancer is, they surgically put in a feeding tube into his stomach and that is the only way he gets calories in, it is the reason the chemotherapy hasn't killed him- in other words- his formula is very important...That being said, when the hospital discharged him over a month ago after surgery, we did not set up anything with Coram- it was an employee at the hospital who deals with the insurance, etc. So they told us, okay so here we have set you up with Coram infusion services, they will be contacting you to confirm everything for your order(address, etc), and it will be delivered to your house....Well, from the first moment we talked with Coram- it has been nothing short of a nightmare- they gave us the run around and said that we would have to pay initially out of pocket and that after the insurance paper work is dealt with then we would be reimbursed for the first order- which was about $400- at this point we had no reason not to trust them- So we paid for the shipment, oh but when we tried to order the IV pole with them- which obviously would be provided since we are using the gravity bags for the tube feed- the Coram employee says she doesn't know how to order us an IV pole, what???? How could their employees not know how to do this- how are you going to supply the food and gravity bags and no IV pole to hang the bags from- she told us to order one from Amazon- we just said fine despite being a little concerned about the first red flag- no IV poles? So then, we receive our shipment and we try and contact Coram about reimbursement, I was on hold for OVER AN HOUR!!! And they weren't even able to tell me anything about my dads insurance situation- and the employees were incredibly rude...Basically they blamed my dad's doctor's office, which is the Dana Farber Cancer Institute who are extremely professional and are very prompt with everything. Okay so we contact dana farber- tell the program nurse that Coram claims they haven't sent my Dad's Medicare information and doctor's prescriptions, etc, which was already a lie because how could they get the order of formula in the first place- they called us originally after Dana Farber discharged us?! After contacting Dana Farber- They said they had faxed Coram the info multiple times with the information that they were claiming Dana Farber didn't send, and then the program nurse called Coram herself to speak with them (since I called her and told her I was on hold once again for almost an hour?!) She wanted to get this all settled because she was horrified that we paid for the first shipment and that they wouldn't even talk with us or tell us anything- she called me back and said this: "after dealing with them- I have one piece of advice, switch companies, I have never dealt with a company like this" apparently they wouldn't take accountability for anything they did and told her that they had no answers and that a supervisor would call her back within 2 business days, wtf- how is this company still a company...well I was so relieved when she said that because then she told me "do not talk to them, don't answer any questions if they call you"...she said they might try and call at some point when they realize Dana Farber would no longer send my dad's formula prescriptions into them...well that was almost 2 weeks ago, and Dana Farber was absolutely amazing and found another company and we didn't even have to talk to them, we got a new shipment of supplies and food within 3 business days (100% paid for by insurance)and now my dad has his new month's supply. So I'm thinking all of this is over- until guess who called this morning and claimed Dana Farber called in a new prescription for my father to be filled- goddamn Coram! Here's the best part- showing what crooks they are- they say that they need a credit card to charge- Hahahaha!!! Dana Farber NEVER sent anything in- I even called Dana Farber to double check and once again they were horrified and said that they never sent in a new prescription and that Coram LIED and just wanted to charge my dad for another non-reimbursed shipment of supplies, never again! I know this review was very long but I had to explain everything just to show what kind of crooks and liars they are.....we have switched to companion health services and they have been absolutely amazing- good luck everyone read more

This company is horrible. They discharged me without my Doctors permission. Went six months without my infusion. Finally got a different company. Now receiving bills from 2016. Many calls to billing dept. I have a secondary insurance in which all they need is an explanation of benefits from coram. I gave them my permission to send the info many times. They refused. Now they want to send this to a collection service. I will be contacting the BBB. This is horrible for a senior citizen. read more

Worst company in medical practice. I sent an order in for a tube feeding dependent patient 2 months ago, Coram kept sending me denials that they had submitted the order to medicare and come to find out, after multiple medical records, phone calls and emails, they never submitted the data to medicare, some idiot dietitian made a decision above and beyond my medical expertise that the patient did not qualify for tube feedings. I am so angry with this company for wasting my time and my patient's time and money. Any way I can spread the word to ruin them is great. I have also reported a complaint to medicare and I will be writing a letter to my community about how other providers should avoid sending their patients to this company to avoid delay in care. Its a frightening world when a dietitian is practicing medicine with out a license. read more

Coram has caused me a lot of stress & have been the worst. I have 5-6 infusions a day and require specific supplies for those as well as for my central port. They are extremely rude on the phone, they deliver the medicine past midnight even when I have called and told them to deliver it earlier so I don't miss any infusions, they don't send the right supplies even when I call and specifically tell them what to send, they have FORGOTTEN to send my medicine sometimes, and they have delivered someone else's medicine to my house TWICE. I am very sick but try to be proactive in calling to make sure they are delivering my medicine, & sending the right supplies, which I shouldn't have to do especially after having them do this every week since January. Even though I'm proactive they still don't send the correct supplies, and they forget my medicine or deliver it extremely late so I miss dosages. At this point it doesn't matter if I call because I plan on them messing it up either way. Too much UNNECESSARY stress for someone who has such little energy and is not feeling well!!! read more

Please think carefully before using Corum Infusion Services. My physician prescribed that I use the Corum services in 2015 for an acute medical condition. After the treatments were started, I found that 1) Medicare did not accept this, so I was on the hook for the entire payment of thousands of dollars for an IV antibiotic treatment needed for a severe bacterial infection in my hand and 2) although I was told in February 2016 that I was all caught up on everything that I owed the company, about a year later, in mid-February 2017, I got another bill for $886.31. That was over a year-and-a-half after the supplies were supposedly delivered on 9/3/2015 and 9/13/2015. It's the first time that I received any bill for those two delivery dates. Even their invoice that was sent to me in early March 2016 did not show those two delivery dates. Why not? Corum first blamed Medicare for denying the claim too late but Medicare strongly disputed that because they electronically send claims (denial/approvals) within one week to the company. I have spent so much time, since receiving that last bill (statement date was 2/2/2017 and received about a week later) trying to get this cleared up. The local HICAP coordinator in my region suggested that Corum should just write off this last bill because of its extreme late date in billing me. However, I am anxious to get this resolved (and do not want to have my credit rating hurt) and asked that Corum provide me "written documentation" either by email or though postal mail that this is, indeed, the last bill and not another dime is owed to them by me. And, I told the Corum supervisor that once I receive this documentation, I will make that payment but not before then. By the way, good luck getting a hold of anyone in the U.S. to get this resolved. All payment disputes seem to be handled out of India where they may or may not have much discretionary ability to resolve such matters. At this point in time, this still has not been resolved. As did Maura S, this is my first Yelp review as well. When these services can easily end up costing thousands of dollars to someone, I believe that one should only deal with reputable companies. I have been receiving Hizentra at home treatments for over ten years. I was forced to switch to Coram after a health insurance change and I continued to receive treatments from this company for about 2 years. In my experience the employees are very sloppy with details and are generally unprofessional. I had a extremely unpleasant experience working with this company and I would advise avoiding them if there is any alternative. read more
