If you haven't been to the sports bar at Cordova lanes to watch the sunset off the chill patio beneath the light of the neon moon you don't know what you're missing. Thursday they are open till midnight. Friday & Saturday till 1:00am. They have a full bar, there is plenty cold beers & beers on tap. The bartenders make a fabulous Don Julio margarita also. It's a family run business, it has been there since 1979, run by the same lovely family for over 40 years now. They also have karaoke night, darts, video games, pinball, a jukebox with great country music & the cutest little old school diner inside it that makes yummy American food. You can get a burger, club sammy, philly cheese & fries etc., totally awesome. I'm not big into bowling so I can't comment too much on that. I don't know how to bowl, I only know how to order margaritas.. Last time I went bowling I pulled a muscle in my derriere, lost my ability to walk & even sit down for 2 days. Strike! Good times. This has to be the worse bowling alley I have ever been to. 1. They charge by the game - not by the hour. It was only two of us bowling. 1.5 hours cost us $60! We had no idea it racked up this way. It's a scam. 2. The shoes are old and falling apart. 3. The food is gross. The worker doesn't wear gloves making peoples food. The food came out burnt. 4. They had late night bowling but the bar closed for it. Make it make sense! 5. The speakers don't hardly work. And they don't dim the lights for a true cosmic bowling experience. We were in to for a short vacation and it was our saving grace during a storm. Only thing I wish happened was that the bar was open earlier. The concession counter was open and great with free refills. The lanes are cheap and it seems like the local club spot. Definitely recommend. read more

I held my daughter's birthday here and we had a range of kids with us. The bowling and the company made it fun. However, the kitchen staff were very friendly but asked over and over for us to close our tab before we left for the 2 hours we were there. If they would have said pay now that would have been fine but they didn't. They sent the food over to our table and told a guest of the party that we had to close our tab before we left. Then they brought more pizza over and said don't forget you have a tab. They brought another pizza and said you have a tab at the kitchen. I asked when I need to pay it, and I was told before we leave the bowling alley. So we went on bowling and having fun with my family and doing the birthday party activities and they still sent people over to remind us about the tab when we were only an hour into our party. We sang happy birthday to my daughter and someone came over and asked us to pay the tab before the next shift change. I asked when that was and she said around 4 which was when the party would be over. I went ahead and paid but they could be more up front and tell us to pay now and I would have paid it all just so they wouldn't bother our guests with payment. That was really annoying and made me not want to have a party there again. read more

In town on an extended business trip, I decided to join a league a sub. This place is little hidden back behind another building and trees. There is a sign to look for by the entrance. This not a big facility, but it is adequate. The pro shop is typical, but hours are limited. Like most alleys, there are some video games, a snack bar, and a temporary bar. It looks like they are still in the process of doing repairs caused by Hurricane Sally. The lanes themself are typical. But they seem constantly dry on average in my experience. Now the thing that really grabbed my attention was how sticky the approaches were. I stopped in early a couple times and saw them oiling the lanes. But they didn't buff or even sweep the approaches. I don't think they were sticky because someone spilled anything in the area...most likely stuff coming off bowlers shoes. The ball returns work without a problem and do does the computer scoring. They've got some really good bowling prices for off peak periods. Huge parking lot. read more

Paid for 12 games, only played 3 and in the middle of the fourth game, they cut us off and when we went up to the desk, we were treated horrible and we're told they couldn't do anything for us. During the busier times (when there's a deal going on), the staff can be quite short and not helpful. When you come during a time when it is regularly priced, the service is more friendly and accommodating. Great for groups. There's plenty of space for groups in the lanes. Have always came to Cordova lanes over Deluna lanes just because of the cleanliness. But tonight however, I and 2 of my friends get to the alley to bowl and we are told we have to wait because it was some penny a pin night. Place our name on the waiting list and sat at a table waiting for about 30-40 min while other groups were called for their lanes. A larger group that came in WELL AFTER us and put their name on the list AFTER US was then called for their lane. I go up to ask how many more until my name was called and they told me I was next but that they could only open 12 of the 24 lanes because of COVID(which is bs in my opinion). As larger groups got to bowl side by side one another we were told they were doing the best they could with what they had. I recently called Cordova Lanes 4 times over the span of a week to book an outing, where I was told I could not reserve lanes. I called again to speak with Tim and the worker at the front desk (elder lady) seemed short and kept me on hold for 32 min. I decided to drive there while on hold and was assisted. It seemed as if she just left me on hold intentionally and I was able to speak with Tim right away. I informed him I had been on hold and wanted to bowl with others if possible. Tim informed me there was a four-lane reservation after being told a week prior that I could not. The whole process was confusing and relayed horrible customer service. I will not be bringing any business to this establishment. I highly recommend Strikerz Bowling lanes!!!!!!!! If I could give negative stars for a rating, I would!!! read more

$2 Tuesdays is a useless promotion when you have league that same night and only allow two lanes for other bowlers. What is the point of having the promotion start at 6pm if people can't take advantage of it until 9pm?! What kind of sense does that make. Health inspector needs to check them out. Do not order food from them. They use bare hands. Get the container for your condiments like ketchup, honey mustard whatever and then put it against your food. They touch the straw that (that's unwrapped itself) with their hands. They handle the menus in between without washing hands (which all customers who are bowling and doing whatever else). We were going to order food until I saw this. We just left instead. They charge weird too. All bowling alleys I've ever been to charge you for your shoes and however.many hours you want up front. They don't. They charge for your shoes up front then charge for hours after. Just a weird way to do it in my opinion. This left us apparently leaving 15 mins into an extra hour of bowling and being charged for it. read more

Shooters, the bar inside Cordova Lanes, is curiously not busy. I've never understood why more people don't hang out there. For the most part, it is quiet, except when krapoake is happening. It's safe, non-smoky, and comfortable. There are pool tables, dart boards, a jukebox, horseshoe pits out back off of the covered deck, and the bathrooms are clean (enough). You can get food, bowl, play a pinball machine, scratch a lottery ticket, or just loiter. Lots of TVs to watch sports. So, I don't get it. It is perfectly situated next to Cordova Mall on Airport Blvd., so it is smack dab in the middle of a broad swathe of people in exactly the proper demographic that would seemingly enjoy an evening in such an atmosphere. It isn't a favorite hangout for punks, thugs, or other ne'er-do-wells. I was in a couple of weeks ago and pitchers were still $6.25, which is a frackin' bargain these days. I have no idea how much mixed drinks cost, though. It ain't a fern bar, so I'd wager that they're less expensive than any on Palafox downtown, but more than Sir Richard's and the Azalea. You should give it a try...might like it, might not, but I'd like some more company when I pop in there to drink a couple of beers. read more

We arrived here around 10:15 pm and an older gentleman informed us would only have time for one game when online it says they close at midnight. My boyfriend told him online it said midnight and he said it was too slow to stay open. We rented shoes and got our lane and our two friends joined making us a group of four we bowled our game and with one frame left on the very last person the concession lady came to inform us they were closing at eleven and we only had one minute left until they close. My group informed her the gentleman said we had enough time for one game and that we only had one person left to finish the game. She was rude and they should change their google time. read more

I would NOT recommend this place to anyone due to poor customer service plus it is super pricey! My overall experience was just horrible. I pull in the parking lot around 11 am and I see a sign over the door about welcoming tournament bowlers so I immediately thought to call to make sure there wasn't a bowling tournament going on. I call and a lady named Peggy (as I believe was her name or something close to that) answers and she is very rude and short with me over the phone and before i can even say thank you over the phone to her answering my question she hangs up on me. So we go inside and i don't even get a hello or anything from the front desk lady. I buy my shoes and we get lane 1. As I'm walking towards our lane i see that there is a family in the lane right next to us and they have their stuff all spread out in our section. The family was having a good time so instead of interrupting them i go back up to the desk and says exactly " hey i was wondering if we can move to lane 7 or any other lane since they are so spread out but if not thats okay ". The lady groans and explains to me the problems of moving me to lane 7 such as if a party came in and needed to lanes that one would be taken. While all of this was going on there were maybe 3 other families in the bowling alley and couple pro bowlers bowling but tons of lanes open. She then says " its fine whatever ". We get our balls, put our shoes on, and start our first game. After the first game one of the girls i took decided she didnt need the bumper guards up so i go back up to the lady and asks if they can be taken down. At this point it was only my family and one other family bowling in the whole alley. She groans and takes them down. Well another game goes by and she decides she wants them back up and in my head i was thinking no just leave them down but she wanted them back up so she goes up there and waits for the lady to finish her conversation with another worker and asks politely if they can be added back up. She groans once again. Fast forward to when we were leaving i walk up and she immediately tells me the total. I didn't have my wallet out yet when she told me the total and when i did pull it out i kindly asked if they offered any college student discount with it being close to a college and me being a college student and she gets very defensive about it and rolls her eyes at me. I then pulled out two cards i had for a free game of bowling that i had and she looks at me and grabs the cards and says "well good thing i haven't rang you up yet ". I pay her and i don't even get a "goodbye" or "have a nice day" like any other place would say but whatever. I have been here multiple times before and i have always had problems with the customer service people. Other bowling alleys will be getting my business in the future and i will never recommend this place!!! read more

First time doing the Moonlight Bowl and it will be the last. There are at least 2 signs in the establishment and a post online that advertise the $25 for 2 and a half hour special. After only 2 hours, we were cut off. The front desk woman was too busy socializing to address the issue and I was told "I'm sorry, all I do is push a button." Staff should be trained to do something other than push buttons. My friends and I had to cut our evening plans short despite having paid for the full two and a half hours. Now I understand why the place was empty on a Friday night. I didn't realize it was wrong to expect what you pay for, but clearly Cordova Lanes thinks otherwise. If your signs are wrong, take them down so that customers can expect what they pay for. If they're right, please take the time to make sure your staff is competent enough to resolve problems before you leave them without management. I didn't ask to speak to a manager, but I would hope that there wasn't one there because she didn't seek out additional help to solve the problem. I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case though. Upon entry, we noticed 12 free lanes, however as we walked up to the man behind the counter, before we could even get there he rudely exclaimed, "Got no lanes." No greeting, no smile, no explanation why, and absolutely no trace of a polite bone in his body.
