From the first communication to the last, this process was easy and transparent. Mike arrived on time and worked by himself. He was professional, tidy, communicative, and efficient. He replaced both springs on my garage door after one broke. It is common sense to replace both springs at the same time, and I expected to do as much. He then balanced the entire system to ensure his work would last. This review is strictly based on the price quote seeking experience. I had one spring broken and called the office and talked to Michael. 1) He told me it will be $500. I asked him wont you ask me if its a metal or the wood door? He said, for one spring its $500. 2) I then asked him whats the warranty. He said 3 years on parts. Then I asked him, what about on labor? He said, 3 year is for labor and parts. 3) Then I asked him. I have 4 springs with same ages. Should we not replace all 4? He said, we should and for that I should be looking at a close to a thousand dollar. Then I said, give a more accurate estimate. He said, expect $1000 to $1500. 4) I was running low on my patience. Then I asked him, are you observing your behavior and responses that you are not helping me make a decision. Who in their right senses will not see the 50% difference between $1000 to $1500? How can one make a decision with a such wide range? 5) then he said, let me access my system to give yoi more accurate quote. Finally, he said, its a $399 per spring times 4 springs is $1596+tax. No one in the entire DFW is charging arm and a leg for $1596+tax. Other companies do not just multiply per unit spring with the quantity needed to give a price of 4. 6) Forget about availability and schedule after what I experienced. Pathetic service even before doing the business and the prices are outrageous. I wont get anything from this review but I hope the owner takes notice to improve service for future customers. This is one of the most responsive AND affordable companies I have ever done business with. I needed a tune-up on my decades-old garage door (which I have tuned up about every 6 months), but the guy I had previously worked with had a family crisis and is not working at this time (I had had an appointment with him for today but he had to cancel). So I hunted around on Yelp and looked into companies in that field. One of them was Core - and they were the ones who responded to me almost immediately! They quoted a very reasonable price, and they were able to come out today and do the job. (Other companies contacted me later - one said they were booked until Friday - but Core got right on it and came when I needed them, today, and Michael even called me 15 minutes before arriving to let me know he was on his way.) Michael showed me a few potential trouble spots and fixed one that would have caused a big problem if it had been left alone. He did not charge me any extra for doing that.
