Another great service call today! I called them today to look at the wiring on my garage door opener. I've had problems closing the door because of the sensors even after adjusting at least 10-20 times. Today the main wiring between my motor and the door got tangled. I called ProStar and was told they were booked for the day, but another tech who was off today could probably come out since he was near me. Yesterday, my fiancé noticed that our garage door was open when he went out to pick up dinner. Thinking we'd forgotten to close it, he hit the Close switch on his way out. Came home, and it was still open. After further investigation, we realize that the door is jammed and bending the frame and also coming off its tracks. :') Called around to see if someone could come by last night. Unfortunately, Brandon couldn't make it out til today, but I appreciate how patient he was with my questions/concerns and that he took the time to walk me through how to get the garage door shut for the night. He swung by this morning with Jordan, and they got everything set to rights. Definitely a pretty penny to get it fixed, but glad that's done. He noted the cause of the issue -- considering our actual garage structure itself is less than 2 years old... lol. Identified the issue as a builder installation problem. (Hooray for Pulte.) Ran us about $189 for an off track issue (this was the starting base for off track doors; I'm guessing more complex work would get charged more $ which makes sense) and additional $ for some other parts that had to be replaced/fixed. Very satisfied with the time he took to explain things. Would def call him up again, and will likely call him out next year for an annual service/maintenance. :) Thanks again for all the help!! read more

I scheduled an appt. for a garage door replacement estimate. A gentleman arrived within the time frame scheduled. I do not know his name as he didn't provide it nor did he offer a business card. Throughout the duration of our meeting his phone was continually dinging him. This was not only distracting for me, but clearly was to him as well as he would stop for a second each time it dinged him and then have to regroup his thoughts. For some reason he was really pushing a solid cedar door rather then the cedar overly I told him I was interested in, but the benefits were just not compelling. He told me it was considerably lighter in weight, which is certainly not the case. As he was leaving I asked when I could expect to receive the estimate and he stated I would have it later that day. I asked if he had my email, which I knew he didn't, but he was in such a hurry to leave and attend to his phone that he just stated if they didn't they would call me to get it. Needless to say, it's now 3 days later and I have not heard a word from them nor received an estimate. The meeting was a complete waste of my time. read more

Our double-wide garage door came off the track, the cable on one side unwound, and some of the rollers had popped out. The door was stuck partially down, so we called Prostar late on a Saturday. The lady said she could have someone out first thing the next morning, and that's just what happened. The technican was polite, professional, and didn't charge extra for coming out on a Sunday. Even though it looked serious to me, the technician said he could fix it fairly quickly. He had it back together and working in about 20 minutes, and he charged me about half of what I was expecting. Performed the work in less than 2 hours, suggested replacing my 15+ YO non-sealed rollers, to which I totally agreed, and got all 10 new sealed, high-quality rollers. He tested it freewheeling several times, and checking the clearances, followed by testing with the GDO. TERRIFIC. I am so happy to be writing this review as their first ever. I requested a quoted to replace my garage spring through Yelp and it went out to 4 companies and ProStar was one of them. I selected them because of how transparent their quote was. I called to schedule and Brandon made it to my house himself in about 45 minutes. Within 30 minutes or so, the job was done, but that's not all... Not only did he repair the spring, but my garage door that used to sound like a runaway train was virtually silent! After he finished the job, he repacked the bearings, lubricated everything and checked the rest of the components and opener to ensure all is working properly. He did this on his own for no additional charge! While doing the work, I learned that Brandon and his two partners were former top technicians at a large garage door company with tons of experience, but they decided to give it ago in starting and running their own company.
