I had a great experience for my first few visits. The staff are friendly and welcoming as they check you in and get you situated. The rooms are spacious for a good amount of people to fit. If it's your first time, the studio can be confusing to find. You can park at the very back of the Plaza De Oro Shopping Center parking lot, walk towards the shopping center, make your way up the stairs and Corepower is right at the top of the stairs! read more

There was a cockroach crawling on the floor I had to move my mat mid-class because I was terrified (it's my phobia). Also, the class they said heat intensity was high for C2, but it was not at all ,I took two C2 classes and did not sweat Maybe it's just this location, but I've heard great things about Core Power. Gabriella D. at Encino is incredible! Whether it's Sculpt or Yoga, she delivers an intense, challenging workout every time. She'll help push you to your edge, if you want that to happen. She's hands down one of the toughest instructors at CorePower--but also one of the most caring. She genuinely prioritizes your safety and is committed to helping you grow stronger with every class. Highly recommend her. If you like heated exercise, then Corepower is a good place to sign up. They have yoga, sculpt (mixes cardio, light weights and yoga) and recently added a weight/strength training class (Strength X). If you're new to weights, the Strength X is a good introduction, but not for experienced weight lifters I think. read more

First time trying a core power in Los Angeles. This location is a little hard to find in the shopping center I was wandering around looking for it as I didn't park in the back if you park in the back it's easier to find up the stairs . The studio itself is nice it could be cleaner in the locker rooms the lockers had dust in them and super wet carpets. The class its self was nice I did a yoga sculpt the instructor was friendly and I liked the big windows . My only complaint is I wish the instructor gave more time to ease into the poses at the start. I wasn't able to settle and get my body ready for the poses or get the right forms because it was like a second in each pose. I understand the fast flow later in the class but when we are just starting our flow going super fast isn't ideal for your body to get the forms down. I will return again when I visit LA. Plan on checking the one in Sherman oaks to see which is better in the valley :) read more

Leaving 3 stars because the staff is very professional and always kind to everyone that comes in and because this USED to be my favorite studio. Corepower Encino was the first group exercise classes I attended and absolutely loved. When I began coming 2 years ago, it was one of the cleanest most serene places for me. However, in the last year, that cleanliness has declined. The floor used to be thoroughly and obviously mopped after each class. The aromas smelled clean and you were at peace knowing that cleanliness and sanitation were a priority. The last few times I went, the floors were not as clean, I would find bugs (dead and alive), and the pleasant aroma in the studio as a whole was gone. The last time I went, I found a bug crawling onto my mat during the workout. I quickly went to grab a tissue from outside and killed it. I would like to add that the instructor and the staff took it very seriously and profusely apologized. They handled the situation well and it's not their fault. However, this has completely detracted me from coming back to the studio. My hope with this review is that attention will be put back onto the cleanliness of the studio like it used to be before. We trust the places we go to work out in to protect us and making sure to properly clean in between classes is a major way to do so. read more

Sarra's yoga sculpt class was the best workout class I have ever taken. It was the hardest thing i have ever done in my entire life but in the BEST way possible. Sarra is absolutely the best from her calm yet uplifting and fun voice to her amazing playlist and workout. I could not have had a better experience thanks to her. I recently witnessed an issue with PRIY N., who is an instructor. Our group walked in and checked in, and one of the people in our group had ClassPass, but ClassPass was not allowing them to sign in. PRIY tried to claim that it was not allowing her to sign in because the window to sign in was closed. However, the person in my group was trying to sign in on ClassPass since around 11 AM to 11:30 AM only to find that the option was grayed out. Upon arriving at the studio, my friend approached PRIY N. to address the situation. Unfortunately, she only offered her a 20% discount, which still amounted to $28 for the class. I didn't think the offer was fair. It was not even the customer's fault. Therefore, I do think a better solution should have been given. My friend turned to me and said that she thought that was unethical practices to charge the much and not offer something better, and that's when PRIY flew off the handle and interrupted, beginning to yell or what she claims to not be screaming, but she was definitely raising her voice emotionally charged and verbally attacking my friend. It is worth noting that she is a yoga instructor, yet her behavior was far from calm. I clearly see she felt she was being unethical or she wouldn't have gotten so defensive. In any event, I find her behavior very inappropriate. Despite her denial, she continued to raise her voice. I strongly advise avoiding this studio and the class taught by PRIY N. A yoga instructor who lacks the embodiment of the purpose of yoga should not be teaching or near a yoga studio. You should not be abusive to customers. She should be let go for letting her reactive behavior get the best of her. I do have to say that I have take more frequently at other yoga places in the area that have had better competitive prices, and friendlier staff. read more

I was able to take Ryan C candle light class ! It's not the first time Ryan C subs for an instructor and he does better at making sure new students and advanced are doing the correct forms for the different postures.I've been a member for two years and many times the classes are packed not allowing instructors to correct forms or the instructor isn't paying attention to new students or just the form .Ryan was able to flow through the class gracefully and connect with all the different levels while still making adjustments (which WE NEED) PLEASE GIVE RYAN a Class at any valley studio Sherman oaks ,Encino or studio. CORE POWER YOGO needs proactive and effective leadership (plus great music) His Classs is BY FAR the BEST and will have you Traveling all over ur Mat. Please fix the water .. The environment promotes what is essentially whitewashed performance yoga- the Lululemon branding alone signals elitism, exclusion, tone-deafness, zionism, and corporate racism. As far as music- while better than Hot8's offensively bad soundtrack it's still misaligned with the biological and energetic purpose of actual yoga. why not play frequencies aligned with the nervous system or vagus nerve activation instead of trendy nonsensical emotional manipulation loops? what's most disturbing is the instructors themselves. nearly all of them perform predictive, false-healing scripts that feel deeply surveillance-coded and any time my energy shifts, discomfort rises, or pain surfaces (physically or mentally), they somehow respond with lines that feel too eerily tailored to be a coincidence-as if they're trained to amplify psychic fracture rather than reduce it. it would be much better if instructors could just give posing instruction and no extra nonsensical chatter about ascension and heal your inner child/open your heart type scripts as it makes the experience terrible. if you want to keep anomaly-coded people in your studios (the ones who don't buy your aesthetic performance), let your instructors give silent, clear, biomechanical instruction and nothing more. no Zionist-coded healing loops disguised as yoga. read more

Unfortunately, I must leave this review because I was very disappointed with this place. I signed up for my first class hoping someone would offer me a little tour of the studio to explain how everything works, but no one bothered to show me around. They offered me a "free mat" since I was a first-timer. When I asked if they had a mat towel, they did not. I began the practice, and after 10 minutes on the mat, I could not stay any longer due to the smelly and filthy mat they provided. I would never go back. read more

After a lousy surfing session in June 2023 I decided to recommit to Yoga and went right over to CPY in Encino and signed up. It was easily one of the best decisions I made that year. Little by little I noticed improvements in the water and steady progression in my overall fitness and flexibility. What I really appreciate with CPY is the variety of yoga classes offered. One of the most challenging for me is Yoga Sculpt as it combines a dynamic blend of asanas, strength training & cardio. One of my favorite instructors is Gabriella for passion, intensity and keen interest in seeing her students practice quality yoga with emphasis on form and execution. Sarra unfortunately left a bitter taste for me... don't get me wrong, the class was good but I had a problem with the way she spoke to me. class had ended (I checked the time on my phone) and she specifically made it a point to come tell me in front of everyone how what I did is not okay- getting up during shivasana (even though class was technically over) as well as using my phone (which I took out for a second when she told me I had to get back on my mat, and I swear the class had ended... it went over 3 minutes so I should've just gotten up and left since that's what I had to do. I listened and went back on my mat but I'm writing this review bc there is a way to talk to students. No need to give attitude and kind of embarrass me in front of everyone coming out of class. Won't be coming back to this studio bc yoga is supposed to mitigate stress not add to it. Honestly, I didn't argue back too much so that she felt in power but it was rude and unnecessary. read more

Hot yoga is somehow both athletically challenging and relaxing. I leave feeling calm and meditative, and combined with other types of exercise like running and boxing it helps tone in a way working out without heat and humidity doesn't. CorePower isn't overtly spiritual, so if you're looking for a lengthy meditation in shavasana, chanting or pranayama you may want to go elsewhere, but for vinyasa flow and lots of heat it's your place! read more

Not sure what the good reviews are about here. I'm thinking many of these members haven't visited other CorePower locations in comparison. I've been to about four different locations in Orange County, and this one completely disappointed me. First off, not offering locks to customers is completely against the CorePower business model. This is the first location I've been to that didn't have locks at the front. Was not about to leave my stuff out in the open for people to take. Now onto the sculpt class: I've taken quite a few YS classes and they are my absolute favorite. I understand that YS is an intense and fast paced workout, but the class I took this morning felt completely rushed. The instructor also missed a few beats and led us through an incorrect flow. I still got a good workout, but the class was sloppy overall. In terms of the size of the room, it was tiny! They allowed way too many people into this class and quite frankly I think it was a safety hazard. Tiny room, squished mats & people, and a 95 degree room. I definitely think they need to enforce a cap on how many people are allowed in the room for each class. I saw about 6 people struggling to find space and the instructor gave directions for people to move closer together when they were already too close for comfort. This studio is small and just not my favorite. I definitely think there's room for improvement and I hope the manager reads this and takes some things into consideration. read more

This review is about the women's restroom lounge facilities at Encino location only. There is a stench coming from the showers and/or drain in the womens shower area. There is also only one working sink for the past few months. I am a transplant from the Westlake Village studio and the disparity of care and cleanliness of the womens restroom and lounge area is beyond disappointing. The showers and floors should be cleaned several times a day and it sure does not smell or look like that is happening. The owner of this studio needs to visit their studio and if they care, make some serious changes to their protocols. Unfortunately the facilities are not being cared for as they should. read more

I enjoyed the classes and instructors, but dealing with their customer service to try to resolve a billing issue reminded me that I wasn't dealing with a customer centered business, but rather a big out of state corporation that prioritizes their money over customer satisfaction. I typically go to CorePower in Brentwood and Marina and have had amazing experiences with the instructors. I decided to try this location since it's close to my new job. Ironically, the Sculpt instructor, Bennett, suggested the intention of "recovery" and then proceeded to be very rude to the students throughout class. She yelled at us at the beginning of the class for not listening because a couple of students including myself didn't get a 2nd set of heavy weights. I told her I was out of shape and just planned on using light weights and she told me she didn't care and demanded I go get them. She yelled at our class multiple times for looking too tired and yelled at me twice for "looking angry." She also called people out for leaving the class to take breaks. I do not go to a yoga studio to be bullied and yelled at. Super disappointing. read more

I've been doing yoga for over a decade now and I do take other HPF classes with other teachers and they are all great but the best part of my week is Jillian's class. This place really disappointed me. This was the studio that made me fall in love with yoga, particularly hot yoga, a couple years ago where I became a black tag member and was taking classes 5x or more a week. I was obsessed and loved this place so much. A few months ago I had to freeze my account because I have a newborn. I actually even continued it for about a month or two while my husband was able to take care of our baby and we would take turns taking classes and but we noticed this place is a joke now. Anyone can be a yoga instructor here now. Seriously, this place was great when they had instructors like the old manager, Stevie, Gabes, Kristyn, Matt, and a few others who knew yoga and who knew how to make you feel awesome after every class. Unfortunately none of them teach here anymore and moved on to better CPY studios and now all the new instructors here just had the money to pay for teacher training and say they're a yoga teacher. They all talk about their drama so loud at the front desk and gossip A LOT! Anyway, that isn't even the reason why I give this place one star and decided I'm done with the place. I was still fine with it all until today's experience. I came in to the studio today with my husband and my newborn. (So it's been since the end of November we last came) I have a Groupon my mom got me that I never ended up redeeming because I already had a Groupon used on my account before and both my husband and I ended up being Black Tag members instead. I had already talked to a manager about it a few months back and she had told me since I was a Black Tag member I could go ahead and use it on retail instead. I didn't find anything my size that I liked that day so I told her I would just save it and it was fine because the value never expires anyway. So today I came in to both redeem this Groupon and then unfreeze our accounts but didn't end up doing either one. The studio manager is now a woman named Natalie. My husband and I came in with our newborn and looking at retail. She's never seen me before and she watched me like a HAWK! My husband saw her give me these dirty looks and whispering to the other woman at the front desk to watch out incase I was going to steal anything while I was checking out the yoga pants. Really??? Steal anything in the studio? Im right in front of their face! Literally the retail is right in front of the front desk. How can I steal anything??? They would have to be completely blind or something for me to steal anything right in front of their face! My name is even in their system. Even worse, Im with my newborn baby!! Why would I commit a crime like that? Are you kidding me?! Ridiculous! So sad to have to say goodbye like this because I really did love CPY Encino too with their easy parking and great locker room but this place is just a joke now. I don't know who these new people think they are but they don't act like yogis at all. They are just doing yoga because it's "in" and they let anyone train and become an instructor now. All studios offer free classes once in a while with teachers in training and the last time I took one, all of them were constantly messing up. So bad. Now I have a Groupon I can't even redeem so hopefully Groupon can do something about it after I tell them what happened. For those who are interested in CPY, I recommend going to locations like Sherman Oaks, Pasadena, Santa Monica, Irvine (both studios) and Studio City. They know what they're doing and they will give you the great vibes you're looking for. No wonder all the great yogis here left. read more
