I had been an out-of-town member a while back, since I live 500 miles away. I loved the idea that there was at least one all-male club left where, on one floor and in one common area, I could take a shower, use the steam room and the sauna, and take a swim, without needing a swimsuit. Meanwhile, the facilities have been somewhat renovated, altho they are still a bit clunky. Sadly, swimsuits are now required, although the club is still all-male. If there is no more communal nudity (there were, of course, fewer men present due to COVID, but they all seemed VERY nervous about being naked), why not make the place coed? It also is much more expensive than LA Fitness, for example, with not as many amenities available, so what's the point? So, if you live in Cincinnati, like to spend extra money (admittedly, gym wear is laundered, and each man has his own locker), I guess that this is good. Otherwise, try a chain gym.

I guess "Anytime Fitness" sort of started this trend, but this new wave of lifting gyms definitely refined their concept. Everything about dropping in to RTS was super easy. I sent a quick email to the owner telling them what I wanted to do, and I soon received a link with a waiver and payment instructions. After signing and paying the reasonable drop-in fee, I was sent a code that was good for 24 hours. I actually initially (accidentally) asked for the wrong date, and I called the same morning to get it changed. The owner was super prompt, and changed my date to that day within 10 minutes. When I got to the gym, the codes all worked and I was working out in no time. All in all, I was very happy with the process, it was super easy and and owner provides great customer service. The gym itself is great. They have pretty much everything you need for powerlifting and oly lifting. Their barbell selection is particularly good. There's also a lot of equipment, so even though there were five other athletes working out when I was, I never had to wait for anything. The bathroom was a bit small and was out of TP when I was there, but it's a common bathroom for the whole building, so I don't really blame the gym for this. There's a bus from Downtown Cincy that drops off right in front.

Everyone here seemed courteous but they where here to lift, fully equipped with Hammer Strength equipment, and plenty of power racks and deadlifting stations. Small gym but well equipped and Not crowded. The free benches need some love but the are serviceable. This is a great no frills serious gym no infused waters, but a great stereo with plenty of metal to go around.

We don't tend to use the shower facilities or steam/sauna areas, but the exercise machines are well-maintained and it's not over-crowded. Plenty of towels for working out. I even left my earbuds on a treadmill once, and they were turned into the desk and I got them back :). One thing that I wish they would consider...the ambient temp in the exercise area is way too high. I have to bring my own portable fan to use on the treadmill. I'm wondering whether the temperature is according to ACSM guidelines....

Great gym! I do…read morepersonal training twice a week. I was in a bad automobile accident a few months ago. Unfortunately I was hit by a drunk driver. I recently finished physical therapy. And was given the ok to start working out again. Despite my injuries. My personal trainer Alyssa is fantastic. Knowledgeable and so helpful. Great personality. A goal of a workout is for one to be challenged. I can count on her to do just that. She is helping me regain my strength and confidence. Cannot thank her enough!

Gym is about 5 mins away from my house and I decided to join. I just found out they are canceling my membership because my bf got in argument with a man over equipment. And I had nothing to do with , matter of fact I was in a different part of the gym minding my business. Man that took his spot was super rude ,instead of saying that he is still using equipment he acted entitled and sat on top of it before letting my bf know he was still using it. He was working out on 2 diff.machines far from each other Obviously someone will take your spot if you're not there and all you got to do is ask. Since it turned out into verbal argument his brother was there too and my bf came up to his brother to apologize and explain the situation of why he was mad. To which his brother cut him off and said " I don't give a fucking fuck , you know what, Fuck you! " Owner Curt calls my bf a day later and tells my bf it's all good as long as there is no further arguments he is ok , and to stay away from each other he just wanted to reach out and hear his part of the story . I trekked to this downtown institution to work on some personal development through a diversity training. We used one of the main meeting spaces, which is beautifully appointed with antique features from when this building was originally built, including lavish moldings, an impressive fireplace with stone carvings and Rookwood fountains. The staircase leading to the second floor leads to an area draped with beautiful quilts made by textile artists who wanted to memorialize Esme Kenney, a young girl who was brutally raped and killed while she jogged near Winton Woods in 2009. The YWCA does a good bit of work to honor women, offer them personal and professional development, as well as offer them a space to work out and strive for good health.
