Shred415 is an amazing new gym here in Cincinnati! The owners are so nice, Bassey and Jess have formed an awesome group of trainers. The workout is broken up into 4, 15 minute blocks. Two on the wood way treadmills (which is like running on a cloud, it has almost no impact on my knees), and then two on the floor doing various HIIT style exercises. It's a lot of fun, and they have childcare

Locker room - Ladies, it's fully stocked for us, even extra hair ties! Who has hair ties! I love it!

I'm a huge fan of the CONTROL class it's an insane workout and I left feeling like I got my butt kicked in the best possible way. The studio is also very cool, and I love that they have heated classes as well. I don't live in Cincinnati anymore, but EVERY TIME I'm in town I make sure to make stopping in a priority!

I have been an SOSer for 5 years now. Which makes it shocking that I'm just now getting around to…read morewriting review, especially since I'm such a mega-fan! I first heard about SOS from a few folks when I worked at L Brands. They had a few loyal customers with whom I worked. To be honest, I was a little intimidated when I'd see these folks post about their workouts on social media. I had thought about trying it circa 2017, but was too intimidated (my loss!). But in 2019, I ended up with a stress fracture while marathon training. I was able to barely finish my training for the NYC Marathon, which I did successfully complete in November 2019. But at that point, it was evident that I couldn't just keep running marathons without incorporating strength training into my routine. So in Christmas Week 2019, I started with the 7 class starter pack just to try it out. I even joined Team Tread (their half & full marathon training program)in their Columbus location in January to start training for the Nashville Half in April 2020. Unfortunately for me, my SOS morning routines were abruptly halted in March 2020. But luckily, my team tread registration got me into the "digital studio" which I had no idea what it was at the time. I very quickly uncovered that it's all the same studio instructors and they have recorded classes with new uploads almost daily as well as a huge library of online classes (which as you can imagine has only grown in the past 5 years). I did what everyone else was doing and immediately ordered as many dumbbells, resistance bands, and other equipment to build up a "home SOS studio" and my equipment has been growing ever since. I moved to Arizona in summer 2021, and have continued to be a dedicated Digital Studio user and advocate. Whenever I come home to Ohio (whether Cbus or Cincy), I get giddy at the thought of going to classes in person and it's a treat to choose which classes I'll take and with which instructors. I can honestly say SOS Digital Studio has helped me get in the best shape of my life. I feel like I personally know all of the trainers (I don't have social media anymore, but when I did, I followed all of them, so again, felt like I kew them personally). When I was in Hawaii for my wedding, SO many people were asking me about my arms and complimenting me. I kept trying to tell them about the DS and how special SOS is. I will always be a dedicated and loyal fan. It's become such a part of my routine that I'm on Christmas Break now with my husband in Kansas (where he's from) and I've brought my ankle weights, light weights and loop bands just so I can get some classes in. Thank you, Gretchen and team for helping me be the best version of myself every day! Can't imagine what I'd do without the DS and my SOS training crew! (Only word of advice to newbies- the System DOES work! Don't skip out on any classes. As you can imagine, being a marathon runner, I favored all of the cardio classes. But it wasn't until I really started incorporating High & Tight as I prepared for my wedding that I noticed the chiseled arms that I'd always wanted. It's a well-rounded program that works wonders as long as you incorporate ALL of the classes). Particularly about the Cincy location, I love the rooms they have (1 dedicated to The Course, 1 for Ebb and High & Tight and another for In The Mix and Control). You can tell it was built after the Columbus locations! I also have only been here about 7 times total (since I'm more from the Columbus area). But both instructors Tyler and Emma have remembered me. Emma is for sure my favorite instructor. I was super spoiled this past Thanksgiving and had her for three straight days of classes! Oh how I wished I lived closer!

You can either do personal training sessions or classes. This is not a gym where you go workout by yourself when you want. I went to a circuit class that lasted 60 minutes including stretching at the beginning and the end. The first half is 8 stages of exercises focused on weight training. You do each exercise and then repeat the round for a total of three times. Each stage is 40 seconds on, 20 seconds rest. With a break after each round. The next half is very similar but with cardio, 20 seconds on 10 seconds rest. Man could I feel the burn at the end! After the class was over, Josh our instructor (who I also found out is the owner), stayed to take his time and answer so many questions for us and show us some extra tips. He went the extra mile and took his own time at no cost to us to help out and make sure we had a good experience. This is definitely a place to go if you're looking for results. These people will help get you there. Your first class is free, and they even have a great introductory rate for your first 3 personal training classes! (I'll be signing up for those)!

Today marks my first class and I was nervous I wouldn't be prepared, as I haven't worked out in a few weeks. The employees (including my cousin) made everyone feel comfortable and at home! The instructor helped us through our hour long workout to make sure we had correct form, etc. Orangetheory is a combination of treadmill, rowing machine, and floor containing weights, TRX, etc. In our strength class today, we were on the treadmill for 27 and rowing/floor the remainder of the time. My abs and obliques right now hurt when I bend over, in a good way though, you know "hurt so good"... yeah, in that way. Ryan was our trainer last night and he did an excellent job of keeping the energy up and the motivation going. He really made me feel like I did have 20 more seconds in me, I could really make it through! He did fail to mention though that you might feel like you can't take a deep breath in for the next day and a half, but don't worry, that's just weakness leaving the body. The trainers were awesome and super motivating, I really enjoyed when Ryan would say motivating things throughout the workout "be comfortable being uncomfortable" was something I really listened to! It was about 45 min-1 hour and we did what was called Tabatta and worked our core, we were moving the entire time! We split into smaller groups to transition through different stations / used different equipment - we did 30 seconds of an exercise, and then 10 minutes holding a position, which was hard but I liked the variety of things that we did. The music I listened to was great, and the atmosphere was very high energy! Also, I really like the before and after pictures on the wall of people doing these classes/program that have lost weight - it's super motivating! By the way - On Saturdays they do a class (free I believe?) and they also have a 14 day trial that you can do if you're unsure about joining!
