I liked the providers at the practice, but moved and established care elsewhere…read more From an admin standpoint, it seems they are going out of their way to make the patient experience difficult. The patient portal was changed a few years ago to something much less usable than the prior portal and now, medical records must be requested from an outside company that takes at least a week to provide records (if they are even provided then, friends have had difficulty with the company insisting records were sent when they were not, and the company has abysmal reviews online) that has no ability to track status of a request, and that doesn't have a phone number on its website (wake told me their was a number there, they couldn't find it either, then gave directions to go through a series of clicks on their own website to get the number, and then finally gave me the number). Had the portal not changed, I would have been able to easily download what I needed. Instead Wake made the decision to go to this new system and I cannot even walk into the office and get records - if I walk in and make a request, I'll have to fill out a form that goes to a third party company to get the records. I was looking at establishing care in Raleigh again but I won't be returning. The providers were good but apparently admin does not care how difficult they make the process of managing the non clinical side of being a patient.

Wake Internal Medicine Consultants does not accept Medicare assignment, so the make you pay at the…read moretime of service, file the claim, and (theoretically) Medicare reimburses you with a check later. I saw my Dr. on April 21 for a mid-year exam, and they made me pay $129.12 at that appointment. But when they filed the insurance claim, they told Medicare and my Blue Cross supplementary insurer to reimburse them. So they collected twice! By July 17, my Medicare and Blue Cross statements showed the disbursement to Wake Internal Medicine Consultants, so I call Medicare and Blue Cross...both of them said the submitted claim indicated that Wake Internal Medicine should receive payment. I then contacted Wake Internal Medicine Consultants and spoke to Emily, who claimed that she looked at the claim and it did not indicate that payment should go to Wake Internal Medicine Consultants. But she agreed to refund what I'd paid at the time of the visit, and said it would be done ASAP. It's now August 1. I've heard nothing, haven't received the check...looks like I'm going to have to take legal measures to set this right. Sad, but after this I'm finding a different primary care practice.

The second was for my new patient physical. She is by far the most comprehensive doctor I have ever seen! She took the time to review my entire medical history, address any/all concerns I had, AND was genuinely interested in who I was as a person. Seriously, when do you ever get that from a doctor??? On top of that, she followed up with me after hours on several issues and took the time to find my prescriptions at the lowest cost possible. Really??? No doctor ever does that. Dr. Inaam J. Schneider does. If you are concerned about ObamaCare and the changes coming or if you are like us and just couldn't afford the new Marketplace pricing, go to Dr. Schneider. Dr. Inaam is knowledgeable, yet humble. In my experience, humility is a rarity in the medical community. Here's how I know this about her: It's really difficult to draw my blood. My veins are small and deep, and I can't tell you how many times I've left a blood draw and had bruises on the insides of both elbows for days. When Dr. Inaam and Maria didn't immediately find a good vein, they didn't poke and poke. They didn't even poke once! They gave me two bottle of water to drink to see whether hydration would help. When it didn't, they sent me to LabCorp where someone who draws blood all day every day quickly tapped a vein and got the blood necessary for my tests. There were many good things about my visit, but that was the thing that sealed the deal and made me sure Dr. Inaam is the right doctor for me.

Convenient to my job in RTP & in Brier Creek. Scheduling was easy; however, I had to schedule something two weeks out. WakeMed has a fantastic website where you can make appointments, message your doctor, review medical history, order refills, & send a private message to your doctor. You're also able to complete forms there, which is what I did for my appointment. Check-in was quick. I waited for about 5 minutes past my scheduled appointment time & the Tamesha, a medical assistant came to get me from the lobby. She was very sweet & friendly & was quick during my "pre-screen/check-in" process. I waited for about 20 minutes for my doctor, which I didn't really like, but they were busy, so I was OK. Dr. Rooker came in & she is bubbly & friendly. I adore her! We chatted like old friends. I really feel comfortable with her & she has good bedside manner. She didn't rush my visit either. I'm really happy with this medical practice.

I've had to go in for unscheduled sick visits on 3 occasions and they were always able to work me in somehow. When I do have an appointment, I almost never have to wait. The nurses have always been personable and helpful. Dr. Hansell is quick and efficient. She is very knowledgeable about different treatment modalities and she seems to want what's best for you. She encourages a healthy lifestyle and would like to have you taking as few meds as possible. I also love that they use MyUNCChart.org. Whenever I have a question, Dr. Hansell or one of her nurses responds very quickly!

Unprofessional front desk employees. They did not document that an appointment was canceled and now…read morethey have made it very difficult to get in to see a doctor. The rule is the doctor has to OK the appointment if you do not cancel. The appointment was cancelled because I went to the office the day of what I thought was the Appointment but it was the wrong day, so I did not see the doctor and I did not reschedule. However they did not document it as such so I am now listed in their system as someone who did not cancel their appointment and now they treat you like a criminal. In addition I received a letter to come in for a flu shot, when I called them To set up an appointment for the Flu shot I was told that I needed to go someplace else to get a flu shot because they do not give the flu shot, however I have a letter requesting that I come in for it. I'm looking for another doctor. They are also screening to see if they want you as a patient
