My husband and I've been going to Dr Foster for many years. He never, every disappoints. He spends the time with you to find out what is going on. He will research many different things before just giving you a RX. He remembers what is going on with you so he can build a history. He calls me at home if he has something to ask or to answer a question. I can't say enough about his level of care and making me feel like he has my back. He isn't the type of doctor that just throws pills at you. I often get the feeling he tries not to give me anything if it isn't necessary and he likes to keep the dosage as low as possible. and I really appreciate that. He will check in to see how the medication is doing and adjust as needed. He even works with other doctors you are seeing to make sure he has an eye on your overall health. Yes, over the years there have been some hiccups with rude staff. Especially at the front, but I have seen that get better. His nurses now are super nice and the lady that always draws the blood is a pleasure! My children have been bouncing back and forth between doctors that don't care to really understand what is going on with them. I decided to transfer them to Dr Foster and I am so glad I did. What a difference even in their yearly physicals. I am confident that they will be taken care of and that means more to me than anything in the world to me. Knowing they now have a primary care doctor that cares about their health and will spend the time to work with their other doctors and make sure they are on the right meds and adjust when needed makes all of the difference in the world. I have been a patient at WPC for approx. 20 years. Dr Foster is a great Dr. and very personable. My complaint is based on the interaction I had with his nurse on 2/2/24. I was reduced to tears by the time Dr. Foster entered the exam room. I had skipped a physical due to not having health insurance but I had this visit scheduled because I knew it was important at my age to have a annual physical. From the moment that the nurse called me back she was adamant and condescending in every way that she could be. First she belittled me for not coming in for my missed physical the previous year and then she proceeded to inform me of all the services that I needed to catch up on Pap Smear, Tetanus Shot, EKG, etc. If I had not known better I would have thought that she was getting a percentage to up sale services. All of this while I was reminding her that I was paying for all services and everything out of pocket. She blasted me and accused me of bouncing around because I went to CVS Minute Clinic to get tested for Covid, which was a positive result. I finally told her to drop it but by then the damage had been done. I have never been treated with such disrespect and shear rudeness as I was with this nurse. In my opinion she should be working as a nurse in a prison or a mental facility, I think she would be a better fit there. I think she was totally out of line to suggest I needed extra services when the Dr. should be the deciding decision maker on this. Seriously contemplating a switch with my Primary Care Physician. read more

Doctors are good and helpful, but front desk experience pretty inconsistent to downright unhelpful. Bernadette especially seems unwilling to help patients find solutions to their problems, adding to the stress of seeking medical help or referrals. Coming from East Boston Neighborhood Health Center, I am convinced that the quality of care is better in centers where it is not only the doctors caring for the patiences, but every single person you encounter in the clinic. Time and again, I have had positive experiences there, getting help for my needs- but at this local family practice in the rich town of Belmont, shockingly low level of care from the front staff. Doctors- get wise and help your staff understand that they are the FIRST interface with the public. read more

Dr. Foster is amazing! He kept a close watch on my hypothyroidism and when my labs changed, he had me go through a bunch of diagnostic tests. Turns out I had thyroid cancer that spread to my lymph nodes. Instead of just changing my meds in the beginning, he took the time to thoroughly investigate what was happening. I can never thank him enough! In general, I have never had any issues with wait time. In my opinion, I would rather wait knowing that I will have plenty of time with the doctor myself and not feel rushed. The fact that he takes the time to listen to you is worth any wait time to me! I've gotten several calls from Dr. Foster himself after hours, so you know he is going above and beyond for his patients. read more

I love Dr. Zhang. She is very sweet, attentive and listens, is very patient and always spends adequate time with me making sure everything is covered / I have what I need. Her nurse is very nice as well and there is a laboratory onsite with a superb phlebotomist. She is friendly and very good at drawing blood and is the only one that runs the small but adequate lab. The only downside to this place is that the building is older and therefore, the facility isn't new and seems "outdated". So if you are looking for a new / "state-of-the-art" facility, this isn't it. read more

I have been a patient of this practice for many years and have never been disappiontted. I used to work in health care and this practice is as good as it gets. Dr. Zhang is super and caring. I have recieved test results from her late at night when no one should still be working. Her dedication to her patients is over the top. read more

Dr. Foster is THE best doctor I have ever been to. He is very thorough in everything he does. He is the first doctor who called me after hours (on a Saturday night), to tell me my results from a test that was ran Friday. I have anxiety and he called to make sure I got the results so I wouldn't be freaking out. The staff is very nice and helpful. The nurses put you at ease right away. I've never waited for more than 15 minutes. My husband and I have been seeing Dr.Foster for around 9 years and have no plans to find any other doctor. We couldn't be happier or more satisfied with the care we receive. LOVE! read more

Dr. Zhang is amazing!! She is very sweet and pays attention to the details. She is also very succinct and full of experience. The wait time was short and the rest of the staff was also caring. I feel so lucky to have Dr. Richard. I found him about 7 years ago and new I would not want to go to another doctor ever! Even when I didn't have health insurance he did his best for me not to have to pay too much for medicines. He takes as much time as you need and he listens (not just hears). He really cares and I appreciate him and his nurse. The office staff are pretty good - I haven't been upset by them for over a year now. However, once I called with an emergency and asked if the doctor could see me within the next hour or two and the woman laughed and said no. When I told Dr. Richard at my next appointment what happened and that I had gone to an Urgent Care - he got red in the face and told me if I had anything like that happen again, to make them put him on the phone. But that is the 1 and only bad thing that ever happened in the 7 years I've gone there. read more

Doctor Foster is great but his staff is just horrible. After 15 years of mean nurses and incompetent office staff the straw that broke my back was when I was refused service when I tried to schedule a follow up for a blow to the head that resulted in a concussion. read more
