Ask the Community - Corey Katz

Does anyone know is Corey Katz, Rolfer and TMJ specialist body worker in Los Altos is still practicing? Her website is out of date, scheduling link is gone, and I've received no reply to texts I've sent inquiring about her availability.

Hi Lady P!!! Yes, After a hiatus, I’m back practicing in Menlo Park at Sharon Heights. Call me so we can get you in my new TMJ clinic. Happy 2020! New decade, new you.

I was so dedicated to Corey's TMJ sessions , I think it took me almost a year before I even tried her facial.

AJ's skill is extremely unique and my entire body feels better after his magic. Before an appointment one time my shoulders and neck were quite stiff and after the appointment I immediately felt it was easier to turn my head to check my blindspots while driving home. His ear massages put me to sleep almost immediately in the best way possible. To me, his massages can feel more effective than full body hands-on massages as it truly feels like energy can be released through the specific points he works on and he seems to be very in-tune with what the body needs. My mood is always elevated after an appointment, the worst part is when the appointment is over and my body is wanting more. I discovered him through a former reflexology practitioner in the area who moved away years ago and I am SO glad AJ is available! His style of massage is very hard to find. While traveling in other states I haven't been able to find anyone who matches his skill level in truly understanding how effective reflexology is and how healing it can be. Can't recommend him enough!

I really appreciated their flexibility with me in adjusting my appt time since I was running late and ran into traffic. Would definitely go back again, especially since you can't beat their good deals on their massages. Thank you, Steven! :-) PS: parking lot is in the back down a small street called "Curtner". Drive slower so you don't pass by it like I did and end up parking on the street farther away from the spa.

They're open late, which works for me.. it's basically a no-frills massage you're just there to get your massage not to have a fancy time. I got a 90 minute massage and I can't remember the name of the girl who worked on me.. I always leave a generous tip at these places or what I feel is generous which is usually $25-$30 tip because the total massage bill was $70 for 90 minutes so I left a $25 tip. I would definitely come here again.. however if I had more time to utilize a different type of spa with amenities, etc., I would book there and stay for a while. This is a great place for a great price for a just pop in massage as you can get a same day appointment.

This place is for people who just care about the massage & don't need a fancy place (2) foot massage: lower 1/2 of leg massage is clearly the house specialty (3) very strong "productive" back/shoulder/neck massage: if you want to crush the knots out, decompress an achy spine, & get that blood flowing, the masseuses are strong enough to get some real work done (4) appointments anytime - especially late up to 10pm! (Rare! I can only go after kid's asleep & husband's on kid duty) (5) proper face lotion for face massage - not massage oil on the face! (6) customizable: I don't like hot stones & they let you get the massage without that. You can add cupping. (7) you can go with a group! (8) so much parking - now with an EV charging area too (9) next-door to food, nail salon/waxing, shopping - everything you need. /// FYI!! NO "special massage with special girl" -- I've now overheard this question being asked to the staff on 2 different visits. Review for Watercourse Way Bath House Spa…read more A peaceful oasis in the middle of Palo Alto that works for just about any occasion. This is a long overdue review. I have been to Watercourse Way by myself, with girlfriends, and with boyfriends--and it has been solid every single time. Whether you're looking for quiet alone time, a girls' day, or a relaxing couples experience, this place truly has something for everyone. What makes Watercourse Way special is the privacy and flexibility. The private rooms are beautiful and thoughtfully designed. Each one typically includes a hot tub, cold plunge, shower, and a comfortable resting area with clean towels and linens. It feels like your own little retreat tucked away from the world. They also offer larger rooms that are perfect for sharing with friends--soaking, chatting, and maybe adding a massage to the experience. The massage services are excellent, and you can book them individually, as a couple, or as part of a group visit. The staff makes the whole process easy and welcoming. A few practical notes: * Parking can be a little tricky right near the entrance * I usually park at the Whole Foods on Homer Avenue and walk a block or two--it's simple and feels very safe * The facility is consistently clean, well-maintained, and professionally run * Prices are reasonable for the level of privacy and service you receive What I appreciate most about Watercourse Way is how it encourages you to slow down. It's the kind of place that reminds you to take care of yourself, breathe, and reset. Life is short. Stress is unavoidable. You can't control other people--but you can control how you respond. So go soak. Get a massage. Unwind. Make it part of your routine. You'll leave calmer than when you arrived--and that alone makes it worth it.

Having recently had a great facial experience somewhere else, I was reminded of my disappointing…read moreexperience here last July. I had been neglecting my skin and knew it needed some help, so I booked the custom facial so the esthetician could choose what made sense instead of guessing myself. Once I was trying to relax, in the towel robe and lying down eyes closed to block the bright light, she looked at my skin and proceeded to tell me I needed a different facial because the custom one wouldn't be "enough." It was not really clear to me what the differences were although I asked clarifying questions, but she talked through multiple options and prices even mentioning one had an offer of a free take home product. This was NOT the vibe I was looking for. Now I could have just said no please stick with the original plan, but I was vulnerable... this was the first nice postpartum thing I had done for myself and did want to do what was needed for my skin. However, I ultimately felt like I was being upsold and having to make the decision to spend more money on the spot when I'm sitting there eyes closed trying to relax. It was too much mental load especially since I wasn't familiar with the facial options as a first time customer. The mention of the free product also made me feel like it was a sales pitch. I wasn't familiar with the product, and it wasn't going to play a factor in my facial choice. The facial overall seemed good and I did add on microderm abrasion which I do think make sense for my skin and would have been a simple add on without doing the mental math on the other facial types. At the end, she put on a tinted sunscreen that when I stepped out, made me appear slightly orange like a really poor foundation match so I ended up going home to wipe off my face instead of continuing along my day. All in all, I think they use quality products and know what they're doing. However, my recent facial somewhere else reminded me how this one was simply not a relaxing experience, made me feel put on the spot, and led me to spend more than I had planned without the conviction it made a noticeable difference.
