The guidance and assurance that my coverage provides not only gives me peace of mind with my home, cars but also other valuables. Mr. Sams and his secretary always find the time to answer any questions I may have about my coverage and go above and beyond what any other agent ever has. For instance I was in a small accident and had forgotten to place my new insurance card in my car. It took merely minutes after calling his office not only to have proof of my insurance emailed but also texted to me. That is nothing compared to the answers and explanations I am given whenever I have a question about my policy. I am first to admit I am nearly impossible to impress, however if given the option I would give 10 stars Highly recommended!

I have also had 2 car insurance rate increases in the last 10 months with no tickets and no accidents. I was previously with E-surance after leaving Country Financial the first time after being a customer of theirs for 10 years due to rate increases for no reason. I went back to Country Financial after I bought a home and they are my homeowner's insurance. I went back to get the multi policy discount. My insurance started at 76.00 a month. Then increased to 79.00 a month "due to inflation." Now, I just received my auto payment notice and with no explanation, my monthly rate went up to 99.16. I have emailed Mr. Sams with no response. I will be canceling my insurance and I will be going to another company. Also, when I was trying to put a business plan together for the bank, I reached out to Mr. Sams twice, to get some numbers for business insurance to put in the plan, and no response.

In May, our 36 foot Carver boat, the Fais Do Do, sank. As devastating as it was, we were able to…read morehave a little sense of peace because we had insurance. We had insured the boat with the previous owner's agent, Larry Corbin, out of Washington, IL. He owns Corbin Insurance and sells Erie Insurance. He sold us the same policy that the previous owner had. We bought the boat 8 years ago in June. That October, when it was time to winter the boat, I called Larry to make sure that the coverage that we had, covered us through the winter. I asked if the boat was going to be covered in the parking lot of our marina, even if someone decided to hop aboard and vandalize it. Larry said to me, "Stephanie, you worry too much about that boat. It is covered. It is covered no matter what happens to it." Well, I have come to find out that Larry's definition of "no matter what" and mine are extremely different. Erie Insurance denied the claim. They denied the claim because they can't find out what sank the boat. They hired a surveyor to look at the boat and he came to conclusions about the boat that are completely false. In truth, he doesn't have a clue, but he wanted to make sure that Erie Insurance wasn't going to have to pay. The boat sank the night that we had the horrible rain and windstorm that destroyed the Morton bike trail and also caused the massive landslide to Farmington Road. Well, according to Erie Insurance, they do not cover rain and they do not cover mechanical failure (the bilge pumps not keeping up with the water coming in). I called Larry in a panic because I couldn't believe what they were saying. He told me we were just out of luck. I asked him what they do cover. He told me they only cover the perils listed in our policy (one of which is cyclones - we don't have cyclones in the Northern Hemisphere). So of course, I dug through everything and found my policy. After much research and consulting an attorney, we are screwed. Royally and completely screwed. We have a Named Peril Policy, even though it doesn't explain anything in the policy. The reason for this post is to let everyone know how incredibly scammed you can be by insurance agents and their crap-tastic policies they sell. I carry my insurance producer's license for the funeral home to be able to write preneed policies and I still got scammed. Here's what I want everyone to learn and make sure that you know - a NAMED PERIL POLICY only covers the named perils (ours are - FIRE, LIGHTTENING, CYCLONE, TORNDADO or WINDSTORM, THEFT, VANDALISM, COLISION WHILE WATERBORN, COLISION WHILE BEING TRANSPORTED AND LOSS OF ENTIRE MOTOR OVERBOARD). There is an exclusion part of the policy where one would think they would put exclusions such as, not covering rain or mechanical failure of any kind, but that part is just bullshit. They also don't have to define what a windstorm is or what a fire is. Even though we had a windstorm that night, it apparently doesn't meet their criteria of a windstorm and no one at Erie Insurance can define what they consider a windstorm. Named Peril policies also cover events that will NEVER happen to the property they are insuring, such as, the cyclone part or the motor overboard part. We don't have an outboard motor. All in all, check your policy, especially if you have some shyster agent, who really, if you think about it, doesn't give a shit about you or your property, but only thinks about the commission he will get. So, hats off to you, Mr. Larry Corbin, you got me. You truly screwed me over. You win. I hope you have the life you deserve. I couldn't live with myself if the policies I sold at the funeral home were completely worthless. I just couldn't do it. Oh! And the icing on this shit cake, the boat sank on May 30th, they renewed my policy on June 18th for another year. Really???? Erie Insurance sucks.

Wow, this insurance company is shit! Not only does their online driving program that is supposed…read moreto track your personal driving, also tracks you as the driver on a bus when you are sitting in a passenger seat which dings you more than once each way on the individual trip! Then when you do cash in the rewards you've warned it's all electronic and once you select the option and amount it shows up in your email inbox, then disappears. I have requested my reward be sent to me physically at my home. Let's see if that happens. I've already been told the dings I get when sitting in a passenger seat on a bus I'm not driving, can't be fixed. I would NOT recommend this company to anyone!!!!! I did insurance my entire life and I've never worked for an idiot company like this, all excuses, no resolutions!!!!!! Their prices are too high as well. I will be looking for someone else, and soon! I am sure they will have excuses why they do not have the option to send me my earned rewards as requested to my home. All they have is excuses!!!!!!!
