Found this place a few holiday trips ago when traveling to visit family in Montgomery (or, as the kids never call it, "M-Trey" - although I really try to get them to, but those darned kids...and their PESKY DOG....! but i digress!). Place is a treat: indoor and outdoor seating, plenty of parking, spot is behind the mall facing a decent sized copse of trees vs the highway. Highly reco the Pork Belly Biscuits: they saved my life in the war. The big ole WW2. Dos. Yup. I put my life in the line for my country. In Call of Duty, that it. Damned Nazis. You know who hated Pork Belly Biscuits? Yup: Nazis. That's what I fought for and darned if my irrelevant digital sacrifice wasn't in vain because: these gosh darned Pork Belly Biscuits are a message from Jor-El himself! Have been here four times on 2 trips. Loved the Shrimp and Grits and Bread Pudding as well. My cousin loved the Burger, but she doesn't know what she's talking about half of the time, but my food was good so--like a broken clock--this may be one of those times that she was right. Don't tell her I said that, though: her head will get bigger than it already is. You know what else annoys me about my cousin...? She can never stay on the subject of anything. Like you're writing a review: no one wants to hear about the video game youre playing, duh...! Oh, wait, that's me. Anyone, place is solid: highly recommend! 10 ladies came in to celebrate my birthday and another lady on 28 March 2025 @ 1130. We all ordered and ate. Several did complain that the salads were not good. But at any rate I ordered a lamb chop dinner to go for my spouse. The waitress stated it would ready when we all finished eating. We all left about 1:30. The waitress gave me the lamb chop meal In a bag. When I got home, in Wetumpka, AL my spouse opened the plate and the lamb chops were raw, they had not been cooked and the vegetables that came with it was a teaspoon and dry. My spouse and I visited again on 31 March 2025 @ 2:00 and spoke with the General Manager, Amanda about the raw lamb chops. She apologized and stated she would speak to the cook about it. That was it. Flat out AMAZING.. This restaurant gave my family life. From the food to the servers to the atmosphere to the last bite. It was a great experience. My husband loves the Chicken and Waffles so much, he ordered a second plate. The kids enjoyed the chocolate chip pancakes, but nothing could compare to the Shrimp and Grits. It was so good I bite my spoon. Also our server, he was a character, he had a beautiful spirit and brought positive attitude to the table, just great to be around. Can't wait to go back. read more

From walking in the door through the end of my service Shelby definitely had the southern hospitality I was looking for! I ordered the Sweet 75 to start off and it was just as bubbly as I wanted it! For dinner eats I ordered the Bacon Jam Cleaver Chicken Sandwich without the bun and a lettuce wrap with the Old Bay Fries! Well the fries were perfectly seasoned, the chicken was juicy and the bacon jam wow, you have to try it! I sat on the patio, while they had music playing which I loved the only downside is the publix next door was receiving a shipment so it was kinda noisy. But don't let that change your mind on choosing a family owned restaurant that has great service (which is hard to find post COVID) and good eats!! read more

Good menu, multiple interesting choices. My wife had a basic burger with Old Bay fries. I had the ribeye steak sandwich with sautéed green beans. The green beans were tasty. My wife enjoyed her burger and fries. I rarely criticize but in this case I have to say my medium rare steak sandwich was well done. It was tasty but not rare or tender. Beyond that everything was fine. The servers were very attentive and helpful. The ambience was casual but clean. I think it was kind of an upscale combination bistro and sports bar. Maybe better put as bistro cafe ambience with several TV's tuned to ESPN. We tried the desert of white chocolate bread pudding. It was quite good. It was also a little overdone in my opinion. My wife liked the crunchy top. It was unlike any bread pudding I have ever eaten. It was more like cake or cinnamon roll. I probably would give them another try. read more

Food was, at best, OK. Who still butterflies a perfectly good filet (and then overcooks it)? Service could have been better. Ambiance is nice. Very expensive for the quality. Many parts (especially asparagus) were not restaurant grade (there is a Publix next door?). For such a small and intimate setting it could have been a lot better. read more

Update: if you just come for the white chocolate bread pudding I wouldn't blame you!! It's so good! I've had it three times so far and it's always spectacular! I honestly used to think I hated bread pudding, but my husband convinced me to share and I totally ate most of it. It's so decadent, sweet, velvety, and the mixture of hot bread pudding with the cold ice cream! Just take me now Lord. I was just thinking about it today! I'm going to treat myself to one. I dined here with a co-worker while in town for business. I went with the Lobster and Crab Macaroni & Cheese after seeing several reviews mentioning it and upon recommendation from the server. It was very good and I felt both proteins were well represented. My Co-worker chose the Filet with Brussels Sprouts and Mac & Cheese. This place is a hidden gem that I didn't know existed. It has a pub like ambiance . We ordered drinks, cheese board & fried green tomatoes for appetizers, bother were delicious. The four of us ordered different entrees, salmon, filet , steak sandwich and cowboy burger and they were all delicious. We topped the dinner off with creme' brulee. Our FIRST dine in restaurant post "rona" reopening. Cork and Cleaver is an easy detour from the Interstate when traveling and trying to get a good meal. On our first visit on a Sunday mid afternoon, Hunter gave us great service. I had the shrimp tacos which had some of the most delicious fried shrimp I've had in a long time and Schweety loved his burger with fries. Fresh ice tea round off the meal and we were on the road again. Wednesday afternoon we were headed the other way and decided to stop again since we had such a great experience the first time. This time we called in our order and it was ready within minutes of us arriving at the restaurant. Another burger for Schweety, this time the Sunrise Burger with and egg. Another hit! I had the lunch size Wedge salad. Lots of blue cheese, bacon and cherry tomatoes on just the right amount of romaine (not iceberg which was OK with me) Adam was our server this time and he was also quick and efficient! Went here today by chance my regular restaurant MTP wasn't open till 4pm. Came up to the patio about 5 tables pulled together look liked they just left food glasses silverware garbage was everywhere on that table. Went in the place was packed at least four tables had not been cleaned off same as outside. Got a seat seen another table full of garbage on it it's not getting better menu was nothing to talk.about I ordered the hatch potatoes and a bowl of grits (stone ground) the potatoes were lukewarm not heat on them the grits 2 stars the guda cheese saved them not hot also. $10 for appetizers my tab was $11 plus tipped got up to leave the table I saw was just getting cleaned up shook my head waited for car to come the tables outside still hadn't been cleaned up so sad. Won't be back here ever again the worst of the worst eat at Krystals much better my grandkids love them. Luckily I was by myself this place has clean up it's act it's dark and gloomy in there fresh paint would do and new tables and get rid of those tv's in the dining area. read more

Our server came to us a total of 4 times and it would be 30 minutes between each visit, so if we had questions or wanted to order, we had to wait way too long. There weren't many people at the restaurant and the atmosphere was pleasant other than the staff yelling at each other and slamming food trays. read more

Amazing shrimp and pork tacos. Really the best shrimp tacos I have ever had. Great service and a delicious cocktail.

We rolled into Montgomery on a Friday afternoon looking for some good food, and boy we found it! The first two places we tried were closed, but Yelp highly recommended this place so we took a chance. It was well after lunch hour on a Friday, and we practically had the place to ourselves, along with the four very well dressed ladies having a girls' lunch near us. Our server was the manager, I reckon, and he did an excellent job of helping us through the afternoon. What to order? The fried green tomatoes with crawfish remoulade. Don't leave without ordering this. With a side of grits, this would make a perfect entree, but on a Friday afternoon it was offered as an appetizer. The tomatoes were crispy (and while they were not entirely green, they weren't mushy like fried pink tomatoes can get), and the crawfish remoulade was just spicy enough. The shrimp and grits was also revelatory, because the chef uses gouda cheese instead of cheddar cheese in the grits. The gouda brings a rich, unctuousness to the grits but doesn't overwhelm like a cheddar would. The restaurant's location in a strip mall doesn't really help; it's a bit hard to find, but it is worth it. I don't live anywhere near Montgomery, so I probably won't have the chance to eat there again, which is a shame. This was our favorite meal on our 10-day road trip from San Antonio to Atlanta. If you're in the area, seek it out and enjoy some haute country cuisine. read more

Ok, I couldn't stay away and came back alone for a little solo brunch. This time I tried the Hemingway Benedict and drank the strawberry Basil lemonade drink. My food was so tasty and the drink was great. I sat at the bar near the kitchen. It was a really busy time but I observed the staff working as quickly as they could and communicating well with one another. I ended up running into some friends for lunch and we ate here again. I had salmon and Caesar salad. This is the first time anyone ever asked me how I wanted my salmon cooked and I decided to go with medium because I wasn't sure, to be honest. When I'm traveling I always try to go to places 4 stars and over. So maybe I just expect more when they are rated that highly. There was entirely too many people working compared to the people dining. I felt like I was being watch while I ate. Banter between employees was funny at first but then because a bit much. I don't want to hear about how customers are wrong and sent their food back when it was correct. I had a salad with salmon. The chef asked how I wanted it cook and I said cooked through. He said he was glad he asked because he was going to serve it wrong. Which is fine.. but just felt unnecessary. Food was good, nothing spectacular. Really disappointing to witness a restaurant manager berate an elderly lady who had legitimate complaints about poor service, errors on the bill, and the server giving her credit card back to another customer which she then had to go table to table to locate herself. There is no excuse for the way this customer was treated. The service at our table was also lacking. Slow, wrong orders, one order never even came out... to be clear one of our party didn't get his food, ever. I can empathize with the woman who expressed her discontent, she was justified.
