This is such a fun spot to enjoy a karaoke night with friends! I went here for the first time last month (I've lived in Lakewood for 8 years!) I didn't think I'd like it but I was wrong. I went here for a birthday karaoke party with coworkers and we had a blast! It was packed but the wait was never too long to sing or get a drink. They have some of my favorite local craft beers which I appreciated. They also have a little food menu. They have "Mexican" food. I had a quesadilla for $8- great price and it was delicious. I enjoy coming down to Corky's for some drinks and karaoke with friends every now and then. It has a cool and supportive vibe for everyone who wants to sing. The karaoke song list is also extensive and you can usually find the song you want to sing. The place is divey and barely offers any food, so don't plan on having dinner with your karaoke here. Also, a few times I have gone, there has been at least one technical issue or two that has interrupted the flow of songs. Additionally, they "require" a legal Ohio ID to enter, which scared me from coming back when I had an out-of-state license. I really don't understand when bars have that rule. The drinks are okay, but you get free refills on sodas which is what I usually get anyway! The bartenders are efficient and friendly and the crowd at Corky's are usually filled with groups of friends looking to have a good time together. There are a handful of people that sing all night by going with a few other people and making requests under different names. Being out of towners in search of Monday night karaoke, our options were limited. They said on the phone that they started taking names at 7:00 and started karaoke between 7:30 and 8:00. We got there at 8:15, no karaoke. They said they only had 3 names on list, as soon as they got 4 would start. One hour 15 minutes later, after 15+ people came in, finally started. With a list of 10! Only the list was not followed by the KJ, the local regulars seemed to have "priority" and sang 3-4 times to our two. So be prepared for that. The bartenders were pleasant but inattentive. The crowd was younger and diverse and may have been service industry folks. Might go back, probably not. read more

Was having a great night watching everyone sing, until a white man singing told "the colored table" to stop judging him, which didn't stop there. This place is actually pretty cool but if you're looking for food selection you won't find it here. Tacos only ! If you love karaoke you will really not like their approach. Every one knows that singers are put on the list first come first served. NOT HERE ! You arrive at eight. Put in your allotted 5 songs. They don't start on time ever. Often more than an hour late. You sing your first song and then sit for ever because they allow late comers to jump to the front of the line. Every time someone new wanders in they shove you further down the list. It is simply BULL SHIT ! Customers who arrive on time and sit spending money are just ignored while the last to arrive jump the line. If you like to sing don't come here. Really great bar with drinks specials and karaoke (every night)! Had so much fun coming here for the first time this past weekend. The service was really good and I loved how big the space was. My absolute favorite part of the bar was the old school bowling machine in the back. This game is sooo much fun! They also have pool and a pin ball machine. Having games at the bar is a plus! Went there yesterday to celebrate my Birthday. After a few years of not going there. I felt it be the perfect place, since I wanted to celebrate by doing karaoke. Boy has alot changed. I wish the DJ/ karaoke coordinator aka guy with long dark hair purposely skipped our names which we waited hours for our turn. WE ADDED UP LEAVING WITH ANY OF US SINGING. I HAD TO ASK FOR HIM TO PUT ME BACK ON THE LIST SINCE HE MARKED ME AS "NOT HERE" ( I WAS VERY MUCH THERE) It seems his regulars was more important to him. I'm never going back there since me and guest didn't fit the part. This behavior at Cory's karaoke makes it hard for people that don't go there regularly to get good service. Boooo to you Corky's. Do better. Treat your new customers better. Treat your customers better that are not regulars. Racism against African American live there for sure...bit our service is doesn't. I visited from out of town and wound up at Corky's for karaoke night with some friends. The entire vibe is casual and relaxed. People sing along and offer encouragement. It's not a fancy bar by any means. Just crowds singing while half drunk. I had a "Hello Kitty" drink here, and it was the best drink ever! I called tonight to ask for the recipe, and the guy who answered the phone was so kind. Such an awesome dive bar! The atmosphere is like any dive bar-low light, kitschy decor, neon lights, and a big bar. There are mostly high tops with stools, with a few booths in the back. There are some arcade style games and TVs around. They have karaoke every night starting at 7, which is what brought me there. The reason I'll return was the great deal on drinks! We got a bunch of drinks and shots and only ended up paying $28 (before tip). I used to go over to Eastland Inn in Berea, but it's too small! I'm so glad that I finally checked out Corky's because it will replace (and exceed) Eastland Inn! Also, we were there on a weeknight, and they weren't doing food, but the bartender said we could get food delivered if we wanted...we did, which definitely made our night better! read more

Ah, Corky's.... It seems like most cities in the U.S. have more karaoke hosts than regular DJs, but for some reason this area lacks many seven night a week karaoke spots. Corky's Place is one of the two or three options around, and it would be a decent choice even somewhere saturated with karaoke options. There isn't anything particularly unusual about Corky's but it gets a lot of things right. Corky's has a great selection of songs (accessible via one of three iPads in the back), the sound is better than one might expect for a dive, and staff is generally friendly and engaging. The regular karaoke host (Brandon?) manages the show well and isn't one to steal the show with long-winded jokes or excess singing of his own, like many hosts tend to do. It also doesn't hurt that the layout and possibly too friendly patrons of Corky's remind me of The Beacon Pub, one of my favorite karaoke spots in Seattle that shut down a few years ago: http://www.yelp.com/biz/the-beacon-pub-seattle The only downsides to Corky's are the lack of food and a pesky $.50 fee for using credit cards. Corky's has a kitchen and advertises pizza, but I think I have only seen the kitchen open once (but that could be coincidental based on when I go.) As far as the credit card fee, it doesn't get charged enough for me to remember that such a fee exists, so it ends up being an unpleasant surprise when it happens. Without the fee (or some kind of a warning) I would probably rate Corky's as five stars. Otherwise, Corky's is great and I will keep coming back. If you like to sing, arrive early on the weekend as the rotation fills up fast and you could be in for a long wait. read more

Have a rough day at work? This place may be your saving grace! This may be the only bar left that does a POWER HOUR!! From 6-7 on weekdays, they have $1 wells, domestic drafts and FIREBALL (yes....seriously only $1 for fireball). I usually go for the shots of Fireball alone! Their only rule is that you must finish what you have before they pour you another, and let me tell you by 7pm you'll be glad they have that in place ( I know I'm usually feeling pretty buzzed to say the least by then). It's definitely a hole in the wall with it's own regulars, but who's to say there's anything wrong with that? They have Keno, endless salty popcorn, yum! On Tuesdays it's also $2 whiskey night, which includes my personal favorite, Jameson! Cheapest price you'll see some of your favorite whiskeys anywhere! Karaoke every night of the week for all the singers out there. I've had multiple power hour bartenders and they're all awesome and very down to earth! They make you very welcome and very at home. I have not been out for a fun night in over a year. I was really impressed with how seriously the staff took the covid restrictions and were constantly reminding patrons to follow guidelines. For karaoke, the patrons had to wear masks every second they were singing and the microphones and wires were cleaned with antiseptic wipes after each person sang. Reminders were announced over head very frequently and the door staff turned away many patrons as it would have exceeded allowed capacity. They were kind and efficient through it all.
