I want to be very honest about my experience with the Corley Mill House. I got married on June 15, 2019. I chose this venue because of the inclusiveness of it all and me living out of town. I don't know that I would choose this venue again due to these 5 most important factors for me: Communication Mrs. Sheila was very good at responding back to my emails very quickly! I was able to reach her by phone and setup times to come in. However, on the pricing sheet it stated there were many other items for use. I asked several times in January and February for the list of items. She said it would be finished by the end of February but I never received it. Food I was the most disappointed with the food. I chose an option for a beef brisket carving station which on the menu explicitly states it is carved in front of guests. There was no carving and the small sliders were already put together. I also chose a mac and cheese action chef station in which the menu also states there are many toppings to choose from such as pulled pork, bacon, mushrooms, ,etc. There were no toppings but bacon for the mac and cheese. The beaufort stew skewers were cold and did not seem very fresh. The bartender made my pineapple, rum, and strawberry drinks all wrong. I sent a very specific email stating how these should be made. Instead the ingredients were poured in a pitcher and served from there. Those drinks were to be made when ordered and shaken. Friendliness The entire catering staff that day were very sweet. However, the bartender had a less than pleasant demeanor and not very friendly. I do not feel I had any issues with Sheila or day-of coordinator Nancy as far as friendliness was concerned. Mrs. Sheila was always able to make time to meet me when I wanted to set a quick meeting. Nancy was very pleasant and friendly the day of. Ease of the day I will say that it was a HUGE relief and help to have Nancy directing the rehearsal and the day of the wedding. It is also a huge help because they do help with clean up and getting things to your car. This is a major plus! I rented and paid for 7 hours. 4:30 to 11:30! I did end up cutting the wedding short because many guests had already left and I was feeling tired. I ended and left around 10 or 10:15. I was very disheartened to hear that my family that stayed behind to gather my personal belongings felt rushed to get out of the house. As I was leaving, things were already being cleaned and put away. This should not have happened as I paid for the event to go to 11:30. Cleanliness On the day of my wedding, the card and gift table linen had several crumbs of some sort on which I had to brush off and a small stain. Positives of the venue Good space and beautiful grounds, help with logistics from Nancy during rehearsal and the day of, and they set up everything for you. Needs Improvement FRIENDLINESS from bartender, cleanliness, quality of food and providing exactly what is offered on the menu, taking the time to understand exactly how I wanted things set up, and making my family feel rushed to gather my belongings even though they were still on paid time. read more

I can not speak highly enough about the communication and venue provided by John Banks who is the new owner at the Corley Mill House. We chose this venue for both my daughter and now my son's upcoming wedding based on many things, but John's vision for the future of this venue and the new additions, along with his wonderful personality, made The Corley Mill House the perfect spot for our events. The upgrades completed by John, the location, and the inclusion of many items needed for an event really made planning so easy. I highly recommend a visit to this venue as you make wedding plans. I recently had the opportunity to crash a faux wedding at this gorgeous house and garden and I have a confession. I've never been big on having my own wedding, I've always dreamed of eloping somewhere far far away. After attending this event, I kind of sort of maybe want to have an event here! From the very beginning, I knew this place was going to be memorable. The gardens, the barns, the animals, the house, EVERYTHING about this venue is perfect! I think an event like this really is a great way to showcase your services. The food was AMAZING! If I could I would have them cater dinner at my house every night! Seriously. That. Good! My favorite was the watermelon with pesto :::mind blown::: The music was fun and kept guests on their feet. The cake was creative and unique. If you are looking for a venue to hold an event where your guest can escape reality and have a great time... This is the place! read more

We couldn't have been more pleased: the venue is outstanding, and the Corley Mill House team worked tirelessly to make it all come together. They were utterly professional and excellent in every way, from the earliest planning stages to long after the last guests departed. We cannot recommend them highly enough. Attended a wedding there recently. The place was beautiful. The staff clearly was committed to keeping everything running smoothly. The food was THE BEAT WEDDING FOOD I have ever tasted. It is such a beautiful historic place. With an occasional rain drop Pam was prepared with everything needed to keep the wedding party and guests dry and happy. Highly recommend it! My husband and I had our wedding there last year. It was utterly a disappointment! Will never recommend. Horrible experienced. We paid around $11,000 just for venue and food (more than 75% of it was just on food). $400 of that went to pay for a professional bartender. On the day of my wedding the owner daughter, Stephanie was the bartender. The tacky part was she put a tip jar out for my wedding(gratuity was already included in the contract). Greedy...They did not provide us enough food. I also brought in some extra food. since most of my guests were Vietnamese. Also paid palmetto rentals for extra plates and etc...since it was a buffet styled. The day of my wedding my guests was told that they could have only one plate. Extra plates was not put out. Terrible ! The only thing nice about this place is their venue and garden. Other than that it's nothing good. Stephanie was very unprofessional. Please beware of all of their hidden costs, they will nickel and dime you ,so do your research. There are so many other wonderful places out there to have your wedding, and you'll not be robbed like we did on the most important day of your life. I really have to truck it out to Lexington more if they have gorgeous venues like Corley Mill House & Garden! I recently attended My Faux Wedding at Corley Mill House & Garden and had a wonderful time. The space is absolutely beautiful! We were greeted with a drink and moseyed past some adorable alpacas (don't try to take a selfie with that brown one or it will sneeze in your hair and then look all pleased with itself in said selfie) to get to the back part of the property where Scott Hall catering had set up a wonderful spread of light bites. Everything was delicious, welcoming and lovely. Ed's Bartending was there as well to provide drinks. We then took a stroll to the front of the property (where Celebrations had popped up a gorgeous tent) for the ceremony. We grabbed a glass of champagne and took a seat facing the front of the house. The ceremony was lovely and then we headed over to the garden (complete with adorable porch, benches, and gazebo) for the wine bar and some cake. You had me at wine bar. The cake was exquisite too though! It was a replica of Corley Mill House crafted by Iz Good Bakery. And guess what... iz gooooooood! Noms. Delicious. We then went inside Corley Mill House for more food, dancing (jams provided by Party Time DJs' Dave Gilbert), and fun! After attending this event I could see hosting an event in this venue. There are a number of options for locations (various outside spots, Corley Mill House, garden area), high quality catering services, and attentive staff. I'd highly recommend checking it out... just watch your back around that alpaca! read more

My daughter had her wedding here on April 10, 2011. I must say that this venue believes that the customer is always wrong. We had trouble with the slideshow that we had prepaid for a "professional" technician to be present. To top this off the delicious food which was well presented, however, was served at a lukewarm temperature - surprising for such an established catering company - I was so embarrassed - only to be told it was "our fault" since we had taken up time dancing prior to the dinner being served. Who would think that keeping food warm in an established catering company would find this a complicated matter? When we wrote a letter after the wedding we were not even sent an apology or an explanation as to what their reasoning behind this was. I also later learned that liquor that had to be brought to Corley Mill on the Friday before the wedding had caused some misunderstanding at the time of the cocktail hour - they somehow had misplaced a second box of liquor! What an unprofessional business these people are running. Hopefully my guests did not suffer from the lukewarm food but my husband and I who put a lot of money into this venue were not too pleased with this outcome. I did not have my wedding here... thank god!! I attended a wedding here in November 2019. During the Reception, my car and two others were broken into! My purse was stolen (over $600 worth of glasses, medications, etc....). Sheila, the owner came out to check on everything that evening... brushed it off by saying, "this has never happened in 22 years". Ok.... but it has happened now! I left a vmail each day to have her call me to discuss assistance on Deductibles and recouping lost items value... FOUR days later, she called me back, only to once again state this has never happened! I do not see the relevance in this statement!! YOU are the owner, this is YOUR business, you ARE responsible for your guest... She stated she will contact her attorney because she knows she is not liable... It's ashame! My son's rehearsal dinner at Corley Mill was everything we had hoped it would be and more! Stephanie was most accommodating with any request I had. This venue was absolutely perfect for our daughter's wedding! Our guests are still raving about the amazing food which is prepared onsite by their in house catering! They provided us with so many options for arrangements, menus, and guided us through the planning of this once in a lifetime event. We are so happy that we chose The Corley Mill House! Having the convenience of the catering, set up, clean up, and ceremony all at one beautiful location made this a no brainier. They also have a large storage cooler which enabled us to have our beverages delivered and stored ...one less thing to deal with. We couldn't be more pleased with this venue! It's perfect! read more
