I think this must be a family owned place, because at some point, I saw a 13 year old (ish) boy clearing tables and handing out candy at the tables. They mostly have the standard beers and a handful of local offerings. I had the hazy pineapple beer, and it was okay. My husband tried a local IPA, and he liked it. I had the fried shrimp and the housemade potato chips. They make their own chips (good, although unevenly salted) and they come with a delicious french onion dip, just like the stuff I remember from childhood. My husband and I couldn't get enough. The menu is otherwise pretty burger-based, but that's fine for a setting like this. They have a pool table that takes quarters. It is attitude or food because the moment it hits her tongue, and neurotransmitter sends it to the brain and says "OMG! This is the most amazing stuff ever!" (Think of your bag of Doritos that disappears so quickly, even when you're no longer hungry.) it also hides in labels as "natural flavors, spices, seaweed...". Rarely will it ever say monosodium glutamate, because the rule is if I add it I have to put on the label. But if I buy it from you in spices or flavoring, then all I have to put in is "spices or natural flavoring". Our meal was excellent. At Claudia's recommendation we have the aloha burger with chicken instead of beef. Really super tasty and perfectly cooked. The French fries and sweet potato fries were outstanding and perfectly cooked. If it wasn't for the MSG, we would have returned.
