Let me start off by saying I typically visit Roche Brothers for items I cannot get at Whole Foods…read moreor Trader Joe's - so mostly for snacks or specialty items like a Duncan Hines boxed cake - strawberry is my fave! Been coming here for years, as everyone else has pointed out, it's conveniently located in DTX. When you walk in, you can buy prepared foods and sit down in a cafe, the main grocery store is in the basement. They have an excellent cheese section, snack section - so many different chips and crackers to choose from, and a fairly decent boxed cake section. They also have a lot of frozen items and other dairy products. I have purchased produce here but not very often. It wouldn't be my first choice - they don't have too great of a selection and it seems more expensive than WFs. They have a decent sized alcohol section but it's blocked off and you have to purchase alcohol in that section - no biggie tho. They have a variety of local beer and cider, which is nice. Near the checkout, they have the prepared foods, bakery, and meat counters. The items from the bakery case look decent but I have not tried them. The checkout line can be long sometimes but usually goes pretty fast. All in all, this a convenient location with lots of items to choose from. I'll def be back!

Sometimes when I take the T I will go in and shop or pick up a dessert to eat at the window area…read morecause the Dessert Section is amazing! So today 5/20 I was shopping and saw a large posted sign which I took a photo of and what caught my eye was, save 2 Dollars on 5.99 which I thought was great! I read the posted ad and says it's thru 5/21 well I was there 5/20 so I went to pay and that's when a whole can of worms opened up! They kept saying it's for SATURDAY AND SUNDAY WELL, the 5:21 ends on Thursday! THEN WHY KEEP THE SIGN POSTED. To me the sale was still on for 24 hours but not Saturday and Sunday! I wasted 30 minutes and spoke to three different higher ups and they still say it's not on Sale. Think about it why why why keep a sign up customer buying it paying for a price that says $3.99 but get home and was charged $5.99! The sign should have been NOT POSTED EVENTUALLY A MALE EMPLOYEE WITH A BLUR TOP SAYS HE WILL honor the $3,99 But kept insisting its 5.99 then left the sign up! I paid the 3.99 and decided to show the ignorance and misleading Ad that had caused me to waste time and explain even though it's not Saturday or Sunday it's posted till 5/21. End of Story! The LAST SUNDAY THAT THIS WAS VALID WAS 5/17 then the store Manager on Monday should have removed that Sale sign from unsuspecting Customers!

Walking in this place, that's definitely had the Italian vibe from the homemade food they had from the pasta salads to their lasagna and meatballs, and etc., along with their Italian cheeses on the far side of the store along with the Italian cakes. The staff was polite and very helpful. My main focus is trying out there Italian sub. I gotta say it was absolutely the best in the bread they use was really soft and delicious and different than the other breads that I've had out of the north end on an Italian sub. I'll definitely be back there to grab some more homemade food there. I have prepared in their glass coolers along with their cheese, but if you're in the area, I highly recommend stopping by and checking out this place and grabbing yourself one of their sandwiches as they had a lot to pick from.
