I really like this place. It's a great market where you can find just about everything you need. My favorite part is the deli, where you can order fresh hot or cold sandwiches. I've never had a bad sandwich from there. I've tried the chopped cheese, steak and cheese, and buffalo chicken sandwiches. I've really enjoyed the chopped cheese and steak and cheese and can say that are favorites for me. I also like grabbing one of their cold-cut sandwiches to take to the beach as an easy snack. I haven't tried anything from the salad or hot bar yet, but it always looks really good. It gets pretty busy, so I'm guessing it's popular for a reason. I also buy my meat and fish there because everything always looks fresh and the quality has been great. The produce I've picked up has always been fresh too. Don't forget their garden section with a great selection for seasonal favorites. It's clean and very organized, so easy to find what you need. The only reason it's only four stars is because they sell a bunch of seedless grapes, which I hate. I want my grapes with seeds in them. They have a garden in front to purchase fresh flowers, and you walk in to the ever-popular salad bar. This place is PACKED at lunchtime, everyone comes here for lunch. In the summertime, they have an ice cream place attached next door. They have tons of fresh fruits, a deli, and cooked foods bar, such as calzones, and a ton of other groceries. I've only ordered from the salad bar + fruits, but it's a great deal! Groceries can be more expensive in the city, and I think they try to make healthy food as affordable as possible. I always get a $10-15 salad (2-3 lb) with everything I could ever want on it. They have plenty of fruit in the salad bar, but better deals when you buy them from the grocery section. They also have fresh oven-roasted chicken and turkey for the salads if you prefer meat. The only way they could get better is if they had smoothies! This place was a catalyst for my own health journey, and I ended up losing 130 lbs, which started by coming here. So although I did the work myself, I am grateful that I was inspired by that first day my friends brought me here. read more

Ordered a sandwich today. Asked for an Italian w/ extra hots, tomato and onion only. I could tell this was going to be wrong. He didn't even look at me and looking all around until he found someone to say hello to. A nice young man asked me if I needed help and I said the guy next to you is supposed to be making my sandwich but I not sure. Well my instincts were correct. It had pickles and lettuce on it. Lambert's is one of the only places left where employees care about the place and the customers. It's not your average post pandemic place with everyone doing the bare minimum, resulting in feeling lucky that you received decent service and your order was almost right. The people at Lambert's are hardworking and respectful. It shows in all of their food and the overall experience. I feel like going above and beyond never went out of style there and for that, they deserve to be acknowledged and they definitely deserve five stars. I just had an issue with my Uber Eats driver finding out that a DoorDash driver accidentally took my order with the order the DoorDash driver was there to pick up. I love how attentive the guys are behind the counter. They're really friendly. They take their time giving you what you need and they actually know quite a bit about the stuff. The best steak I ever made was purchased here. They also have a huge salad bar which I want to try some day. Very entry parking but on weekend very busy. They have carts if you are buying a bunch of things and believe me you might go in for a couple things but you will buy a couple of bagfuls. Beautiful veggies and the price is low. Lambert's has really gone down hill for years, both in service and produce quality. Just last night (12/1/22, far end register), the cashier did not speak one word, ignoring any sort of greeting, stating the total amount, or even acknowledging a gratuitous "thank you" with "you're welcome". Nothing. The self checkout at Stop & Shop is more human than that woman at the checkout. At least the automated greeting doesn't fail. If I am going to spend $75 hard earned dollars each week for produce, I am going to do it where a minimal appreciation is acknowledged. On the plus side, the meat section of Lamberts continues to exceed expectations, and the team at the deli counter is always ready to help. I'll still shop for meats at Lamberts, because I can pay in that dept, and avoid the icy attitude at the main registers. read more

I posted a review 7 years ago, so I'm probably due for an update. Normally the urge when you post on Yelp is to bitch. "This waitress did this!" "I found a piece of soggy lettuce in the salad bar!" I feel the negative urge myself, but restrain the impulse. But I can't think about anything to complain about at Lamberts, and I've been shopping there for 25 years. This is my favorite place in Dorchester. Assuming the truism that "you eat where the local police and firefighters eat" is true, Lamberts is the go to destination. Firetrucks line the Morrissey Blvd access road. I still wish they could work out the seemingly easy to resolve administrative detail and have one check out line for both Plaza Fish and Lamberts. They must both hate each other. Or something. But, whatever. To Danny? Three suggestions. 1) I'm apparently the only one of your customers who still buys Florida Juice Oranges. You are the only place that still sells them. I squeeze my orange juice, and the California oranges just don't work. I "get" inflation, but to jump from 3/dollar to 2/dollar?! Work with me. 2). Consider stocking https://www.littleleaffarms.com/ lettuce. It's locally grown, and when nibbled, tastes like candy. 3) Remove the sign at your entrance that obstructs the view of the Morrisey Blvd access road. I've almost been clotheslined twice over the years trying to pull out of your parking lot. Does this sound like a negative review? I hope not. I'd give Lamberts ten stars if I could. read more

shopping here since the 1970s; Always Fantasic! last night went for three lobsters @ the fish counter; got them home and 2 were completely lifeless, which I only noticed as I threw them in the boiling pot... not willing to pull them out of the boiling water, I let them cook. removed from the water and the smell was obvious, they were Dead going in, and not recently. Returned the next morning and was told it's OK if they are dead for a day or two, then told there was nothing wrong with the obviously stinky food. Had to demand a refund; which I received reluctantly. WARNING: They will willingly and knowingly sell you Dead Lobsters. Buyer Beware. The produce, deli and salad bar remain World Class and the staff are wonderfu, but the fis concessionaires are a danger to our health. read more

Every month I order the exact same thing because I'd I change the order my team gets upset because they love the food so much it can often be the highlight of the meeting.
