First, there is easy to find off 9th st (on…read morethe way to KVCC) and there is QUITE ample parking - and, as should be with PT, plenty of disability parking. WOOT! The PT facility is located on the 2nd floor. Second, the space is light and airy, with plenty of air circulation. It rarely feels claustrophobic or crowded (well, except the smaller upstairs waiting area, because the chairs are close together). Third, the PT staff are INCREDIBLE. I have gone here for a variety of reasons over the years, and appreciate every single person who has aided me on my journey to tend to what is not well with me, including TMJ, BPPV, post-surgery complications, etc. The DPTs are extraordinary at problem solving and coming up with a plan. They also have a team member who you see a bit more frequently than the DPT - they also bring their skills and knowledge to create a plan (and home exercises, do them!) to get you on the mend again. There is a central check in downstairs and it also serves the pediatric PT, so if you arrive only a few minutes before your check in time, you can reply "I'm here!" on the text they send and skip this. My one complaint is that there is only one elevator, and it moves SUPER slowly. I understand why elevators move slowly, especially with slow movers like myself, but it is so frustrating that at times I head down the hall and painfully climb the huge winding staircase to the second floor. Another elevator added, or a speedier process, could help. There are many exercise machines out front, but also a slew of windowed (!) large rooms in the back, where all of my PT sessions have taken place. Each room has 3 walls and a hanging hospital curtain for (somewhat) privacy. I also appreciate that the PTs ask if you'd like them to mask (I mask because of health issues) - this is so seemingly common-sense but many health providers do not. Highly recommended!

I came to learn about biofeedback as a new strategy for dealing with ADD, because ADD presents a serious challenge for me in my life. The biofeedback method is intriguing and I was glad to learn about it at the Institute with Patricia. At first Patricia was very congenial over the phone, which attracted me to this business. I told her I had other methods of dealing with anxiety and ADD besides pill or biofeedback, such as yoga, meditation, breathing techniques, diet, etc. She rejected these all as useless. Our family has been here many times over the years for physical therapy. We always ask our doctors to send us here. The therapists are friendly and competent. You aren't guaranteed the same therapist but most of the appointments you are paired with the same one. It can be difficult to get appointments at first but once you have been a patient for a couple of visits it seems the system works to get you the same time and day of the week for your next session.
