It's hard for me to review a church as I am not a believer. I grew up Baptist and lost my faith…read morebecause i was taught that the Bible was literal and I eventually could not reconcile that. I also could not reconcile the racist nature of my elders with the teachings of Jesus. I go to this church with my daughter because I would do anything to spend time with her. I grew up in church and was in church if there was a door open. I lost my faith later and it isn't coming back, so this is more of a comparison to the church I grew up in and the loss of that community that came with the loss of my faith. I am not trying to convince you of my lack of faith and generally feel church is good for people. I will say that the primary reason I lost my faith is that I don't believe in things I can't touch. As best I can tell, a miracle is an unexpected outcome. A medical miracle means the doctor was wrong. **I am a doctor, we are wrong a lot and it's not a miracle. One of my greatest sadnesses in life is that I don't know how to give the sense of community to my daughter that I got in church. loved going to church when I was growing up because I felt a sense of belonging. I loved Sunday school and was very involved. I don't feel community. I have been going to this service for the last 6 months and I don't even know if they have Sunday school. Everyone seems friendly. Don't care much for pastor Darren, preaches intolerance with his acceptance.... I am sure that there is community in the small groups that they offer, but it's not like I will ever go.... I really just want community for my daughter. Was pretty disappointed in the Christmas service. Pastor Darren said he had the most convincing argument ever for the proof of Jesus. I guess I don't really expect anyone to bring me back into the fold, but I had hoped something more than "miracles are real, everyone else believes, so should you"

Advised as a single man that I "didn't fit" specifically due to my marital status. Go to a 'poorer" part of the metro area for church. I sure did but I need to talk about this.

WELL this NOT one of those churches! It's my 2nd time coming here and i must say it gets better each time! Pastor Short preached in a way not only were you could understand what he was talking about but also with some humor that kept you intrigued and wanting more. I grew up in church but like a lot others i fell outta the mood i guess..?? Got really turned off by MEGA churches where i felt just a number, yet inside i still have the urge to be a part of a church home, to be involved like i used to when i was younger. Well this church gives you that family feel and urge to get involved. I'm looking forward to returning real soon!!

If you are an out of town bride looking for a church wedding - this is your place!…read more Renting the church requires two checks (deposit that will be returned to you and the actual payment.) payment is minuscule for the gorgeous venue you are receiving. You do not have to be a member. Call Mrs. Margaret to schedule a viewing to see the church. Be prepared to chat a while - she is an immigrant that married a soldier after WWII and followed him here. Her stories are fascinating and sweet. Assign an aunt, mom, or responsible family friend to pick up Mrs Margaret for rehearsal and ceremony. She was a delight to work with and gave us plenty of rehearsal time and time before ceremony for pictures. Room for x8 bridesmaids and bride to hide before ceremony. Church is bright white with minimalistic features. You are allowed to decorate but won't need much because the altar speaks for its self - no candles. The windows have fake candles in them. Small town feel with big city accommodations.
