Have been a patient at Cornerstone for 35 years, Always felt safe and well cared for. What has happened??? After recent visit my prescription was not called to pharmacy and my two referrals were not sent after ten days. Arrangements to follow up on serious conditions were made only at my request. Not alowed to change doctors until you have left current one. And then new provider will not see me until July. Helllllllllp!! read more

The records department is stuck in the stone age and they're total jerks about it. I don't live in Modesto anymore, and i need to get my records. Apparently I have to own a fax machine to request them. Who owns a fax machine in 2022??? They said the only other option would be for them to physically mail me the consent form for signature and I'd mail it back to them. I said ok, but it's been weeks and still nothing has arrived. I would give this clinic a ZERO if I could so people don't go to this clinic they only care about making the $ not the patient. Since Dr. McGrew was our last good doctor since then it all went to hell. Dr. Paul McGrew was our last doctor but he wasn't as good as his brother was. He prescribe to us 6 months of our regular meds and now that he retired this clinic does not honor the 6 months prescribed until we attend to another doctor of theirs. Plus not all doctors their take MEDICARE only a few, we have Blue Cross to backup Medicare and still no dice. I spent more time waiting in the lobby then in exam room and get charged for the whole time we are in inside office. read more

Since the two Dr McGrews and Dr Chin have left it us terrible!!! Dr Montalvo took over some of the patients, wouldn't refill prescriptions, saying he's uncomfortable and then asks the patients to leave the practice. I don't know what kind of patient he is trying to get but he is a very Poor excuse for a dr!!! read more

If your African american, do not come to this place: they are so racist, rude, unprofessional and very disrespectful. The lady who sits downstairs to check patients for covid tried to diagnosis me with covid and make me walk up the back stairs. I refused because I tested negative so she called the cops on me and I am no longer a patient at this place. Honestly I would like to explain what went down but it's so crazy so too much to type. Dr Bob McGrew was my family doctor growing up and inspired me to pursue a career in medicine. As a medical student, I even got the opportunity to come home one summer to shadow him in clinic. 15 years later, now practicing full time as a Board Certified Family Medicine Physician in Southern CA, I can only hope to one day be as good of a physician as Dr. Bob. Thank you for inspiring me back then and for a wonderful 40 year career. Congrats on your retirement sir. My family in the area will miss seeing you as patients. read more

I'm so sad to be writing this review right now. I grew up at Cornerstone Family Practice. I was literally a patient there from birth. I grew up being excited to see Dr Bob McGrew and his twin brother Dr Paul McGrew. Over the years, things have changed. The office itself is still quiet, somewhat friendly and fairly clean. The doctors, however, have not kept up to par with Dr Bob and Dr Chin. Many years ago when I was 18, young Dr Ben Hunt was my doctor--- I was asking a medical assistant for a list of tests that were going to be ordered for me, so I could see if I could get them cheaper at a different lab. She refused to tell me and would not let me speak. Finally I said, "Excuse me! Let me speak!" Apparently she cried... because I got a breakup letter from Cornerstone about a week later. After being there my whole life and never being anything but polite and friendly. No one called to ask my side of the story, or what truly happened. Just Trump-style YOU'RE FIRED. Years later, being married and having a child of my own, I gave Cornerstone a second chance and unfortunately again - Dr Bob McGrew and Dr Robert Chin were unavailable. My husband and I were assigned Dr Brad Blankenship. Dr Blankenship is a nice guy. But he is not a good doctor. I enjoyed speaking with him, hearing about his son's wedding, etc... Dr Blankenship is well-practiced at "smile-and-nod" when a patient speaks, but then does not put any weight to what they're telling him. I recently had to order FISH antibiotics to treat my own sinus infection because he told me to take cough drops for my cough. My cough was a symptom, but I had a sinus infection and I told him that. Within 5 days of the fish amoxicillin I was so much better and the infection didn't reoccur. My husband was in a car accident last year when a large commercial van slammed into the side of the vehicle. I was so concerned about my husband's confusion and behavior changes, I went to his doctor's appointment with him. Dr Blankenship was unphased and unconcerned. He said if the symptoms persisted after a MONTH we would so a scan of his head. My husband also complained of neck and back pain, and the doctor told him to take ibuprofen, but told him if it didn't hurt THE MOMENT after the car accident, then it wasn't caused by the car accident. Mind you, my husband could barely move by that evening. It was a fight. We went back, and back, and back, and back. We had so many additional doctor's appointments that would not have been necessary if Dr Bradley Blankenship took them seriously the first time. My husband works in a warehouse doing a physical job. Ibuprofen after a neck and back injury isn't enough. He needed time off. We had to insist again and again that he needed days off. Eventually we had to have my husband's Chiropractor write him off of work because it was such a hassle to get Dr Blankenship to. NOW to billing. Cornerstone's rates are fair. We have great insurance. But when you have to see the doctor for one thing 5 times, EVERY TIME... it adds up quickly. Cornerstone was great about working out a payment plan of $15/month. They don't let you pay online. Life happened around the holidays and I forgot. I also thought I was paying on our family account and eventually they explained to me that I have to call and make 2 separate payments - one for me and one for my husband. I work on the phone during business hours, this is very inconvenient but they were working with us... UNTIL. After I finished up my fish amoxicillin, I called Cornerstone and requested that they transfer care to another of their physicians. I specifically requested Dr Bob McGrew or Dr Bob Chin. Surprise, surprise, the office manager who called me back (with poorly concealed contempt) told me that NONE of their other physicians were accepting patients at this time. I explained to her how I liked Dr Blankenship, but did not feel like he took our concerns seriously and that that was an important part of the picture for us. She apologized with little empathy, and told me that I could just make an appointment with the nurse practitioner from then on. I thanked her, and told her we'd like to stay within their office. Two weeks later I got a second breakup letter from Cornerstone Family Practice for having "a balance." A balance I just spoke with them about and JUST made a payment on a few weeks earlier. They fired me, basically, because I didn't think my doctor was just --- THE GREATEST. Now of course I didn't continue making payments. Partially out of being annoyed with their business practices, mostly out of feeling ripped off from all the unnecessary follow up appointments and having to insist on and direct our own care, and partially out of being in financial turmoil following my husband's car accident. They sent me to collections, which was expected and fair enough at this point. Transworld Systems Inc autodials me illegally repeatedly. So... more legal fees in our future. read more

I will be looking for a different doctor office. The office staff at this location is abhorrent, impatient and rude. I was denied an appointment and then put on hold for 45 minutes. I drove to the office, on hold, to find no patients in the office, no phones ringing off the hook. Why was I on hold? They would not answer me, all the while looking like a child with their hand in the cookie jar. I was treated rudely and the administrator did not seem to care. She defended her office staff's despicable treatment of a patient. read more

Whoever answers the phones to schedule appointments is rude and not willing to help. She talks to you like you are stupid and just has no customer service skills whatsoever. If I could give no stars I would. She just rushed me off the phone and made it seem like it was inconvenient that someone was calling to schedule an appointment in the first place. I'm sure she has to deal with difficult people sometimes but she clearly doesn't like her job. read more

If I could I wouldn't give him any stars! I seen Dr. BLANKENSHIP here & will never go back!! IF POSSIBLE AVOID THIS MD! Didn't even see me more than 3 minutes! I was a first time pt & he didn't bother getting any history from me, MAYBE HOW LONG HAVE I BEEN HAVING STOMACH ISSUES?? Nothing's worse than feeling crappy and having a QUALIFIED PROFESSIONAL MS give a rats a$$ about you! THANKFULLY I'm a nurse & was able to ask what I wanted done for me making sure labs were ordered & tests as well! All he wanted to do after applying pressure to my abdomen was prescribe MEDICATION like skittles! If I wanted medication I'd ask, what I wanted/needed was a thorough assessment and history done!! When do you just start giving medication to 22 year old women with history of stomach cancer in their immediate family!! WHAT KIND OF MEDICAL PRACTICE IS THAT!?? HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE!!" I'm writing for both my husband and me, because we agree on how we feel about the doctors in this practice. I see Dr. Terzo, and my husband sees Dr. Blankenship. Both of us have found them to be very competent and thorough. They ask many questions, and keep their eyes on everything. What we appreciate most is the fact than they do not hurry. There are never too many questions that we can ask, and they don't have one hand on the door knob, like other doctors we've seen. I have a respiratory disease, so I require a lot of care and maintenance. I get this with Dr. Terzo. After a dragonlady doctor when I first moved here, I looked in the phonebook and found Cornerstore. I'm glad I did. read more

Been here 3 times. First 2 with Dr Montalvo. Came in to discuss some recurring issues. I told him what was happening all he said was ok we're gonna have you take some tests. Ok, did that and diagnostics told me my doc would call me with result. No call for over a week. Called cornerstone and was told that my doctor received my results. Ok, why wasn't I informed? I made an appointment to see Dr Montalvo to go over results. He came in said "your test were normal, we're gonna send you to a specialist" and he walks out. Didn't go over my results, didn't print them for me, had to ask one of the medical assistants for a copy, I paid to see him and the man didn't even give me 3 minutes of his time! Third time was today, I saw Dr McGrew and he prescribed antibiotics. He said he would send it over to my pharmacy. I get there and they said they hadn't received anything! And I was just past 5pm, so of course no one answered at cornerstone. Another thing, every time I would go to a specialist/other doctor, they would say "We're going to send your results to Dr Chin." For some reason, cornerstone put him as my primary doctor, even though I've never met the man. Very sloppy and careless. read more

If I could I wouldn't give Dr. Blankenship any stars or his nurse. I've been going to him 12+ years, I've put up with his lousy disposition and poor manners and the fact that he rushes me out of the room.He has been giving me hydrocodone all these years for various problems, stenosis, migraines, sinus infection etc. This January he told me he would no longer give me narcotics. Prescription pain meds are the preferred relief for stenosis, so I guess I'm out of luck. I've had a fever of 102 for an entire week due to influenza, diagnosed by Dr. Chin who by contrast is a very pleasant man.He told me to talk with Blankenship about pain relief, so I left a message. Sabrina called me back and snippily stated "We don't give narcotics for headaches" after she stopped repeating herself I told her that's not why I called I need some for the awful influenza symptoms, she stated we don't give those meds for influenza. Dr. B. has given me these meds for a dozen+ years, for migraines so she was very inaccurate in stating we don't give them for headaches. She was trivializing my pain. I asked her If Blankenship was scared of the new federal regulations, this seemed to upset her and she became very disrespectful, so I hung up. I called back this morning to get to the bottom of it, Boy, were they waiting for my phone call!! Julie was ready to pounce on me like a pit bull, after I stated who I was, she didn't wait to hear my concerns, she joyfully informed me Blankenship discharged me from Cornerstone, I stated without hearing my side?When some people get puny power, they abuse it as she clearly did. I had already told the girls the day before I no longer wanted Blankenship for my doctor, and I wanted info on the other doctors, I guess Blankenship wanted to "Beat me to the punch"I guess Blankenship doesn't like it when you ask about other doctors. Julie has deprived Cornerstone of two patients because Sabrina was offended, my husband and myself who are local teachers have always been respectful patients. This gruesome threesome, Sabrina, Blankenship, Julie, don't have the compassion to be in the medical field. Why did Blankenship stop my meds cold turkey? If it was the right prescription for the past 12+ years, why isn't it now? Has he been doing damage to me with the wrong prescriptions? I have to investigate that. read more

I just called to try and find a new doctor since I moved to Modesto and found the receptionist to be very rude. As soon as I said I had medi-cal she cut me off and said Oh we cant take you cause you have medi-cal then said have a good day very cocky like and hung up on me. read more

My family have all been patients at Cornerstone for over 25 years and we have never had a bad experience. If you need an appointment you get in with someone that day or the next. The wait time is always reasonable and the office staff is courteous and professional. Dr. Hunt has been my doctor for many years and he never minimizes any concern. He is thorough and professional but he is also very kind and compassionate in his care for his patients. He will advocate for you to get your needs met even when your insurance drags their feet.....I never plan on looking for different doctor. read more
