There are many Pros and Cons about this school as I'm sure there are with any school. Personally, we have had some ups and downs at this school that have left me feeling a bit off put by it. (But that was our personal exp) There is a mixture of teachers. Some are EXCELLENT! If you are lucky enough to get one of these thank your lucky stars. If not, hold on for a bumpy school year. The ones who really care about education and not just having a pay check are the ones that shine at this school. And sadly are not the ones usually recognized either. The office staff for the most part are wonderful! There are a few you'd like to bop on the head. Mostly helpful and polite. There is usually a volunteer in the front office helping out as well. There is a full time nurse in site who takes care of everything medically related. The school is clean, like any place in Florida there are bugs but not from dirt. They repaint it the same ole boring colours of cream and turquoise. But the district only allows for a choice between two colours. There is a gym/cafeteria/auditorium. There is a huge back PE area. Field, court and playground. All is fenced in and locked up when school is in. The only way you can get in is through the front office with an ID in hand. There is a library, which is always in need of gently used books. There is a media center and a computer lab. There is no pre-school offered but there are special needs ISD classes. Limited parking in three lots. One of them is mainly teacher parking off to the side of the school. One of front and one in the back by the car circle. You can come have lunch with your kiddo which is pretty cool and they are always looking for volunteers for various things.

She is the most amazing, generous and caring person and I am so thankful that she is in the childcare profession as I wouldn't want my boys going anywhere else. (I mean who else is going to read this review?)…read more You're probably checking Yelp because you're getting ready to decide where to send your little one for daycare/preschool/VPK. It's stressful, isn't it!? My son was in an in home daycare I loved from 12 weeks old but as he approached 4, I knew I was going to be faced with a very difficult decision. Where do I send him next? He has a September birthday so I wanted him to go to someplace I could count on for VPK eventually. But I also needed to feel confident in their leadership, the curriculum, and the facility itself. We toured many places and met with several directors but nothing felt "right" other than Ohana. Here are our reasons! 1. Location. For us, this is close to our house so my son doesn't spend an hour in the car each day. 2. Cost. Their tuition is very reasonable for the area! 3. Staff. Kara, the director, is super chill, has a masters degree, and just leaves you with the feeling that your kid will be in good hands. She was great during the tours and answered all of our questions. My son's teacher is also great. Ms. Amber is communicative, positive, loving, and helpful. 4. Curriculum. They provided me the info on their curriculum so I could do my own research. This was helpful as we chose between preschool because I knew what to expect educationally. 5. Facility. The preschool is CLEAN and cute! (I mean who doesn't love turtles!?) 6. Reasonable expectations. They are realistic about what to expect from kids behaviorally and developmentally. They don't call you for every little thing. They don't send your kid home because he sneezed twice. They get the woes of a working parent. 7. The extras. They have a provider come in to teach soccer (at an extra cost), they do school pictures, they do class birthday parties, they encourage parental involvement (reasonably), they have special theme days. They keep it fun! 8. 2 months in my son is SO HAPPY. He asks to go everyday. Even on days they're closed he wants to go to school. He loves his teacher. He's made friends. He's learning quickly. Plus they periodically host guest speakers from the community like law enforcement and other service workers. The tuition rates are reasonable for the quality of education provided. In addition to the outstanding teachers and well-rounded teaching approach, the school uses a wonderful app called Seesaw (like a virtual diary) where teachers post pictures and videos for parents. Seesaw gives parents the opportunity to see their child engaged in daily activities. Not only does this app provide a sense of comfort for parents, it generates specific topics for after school conversations. I went through the accreditation process and got that school accredited. I showed up everyday and never called off unless I was really sick. Well... I was fired on 11/10/21 because I decided that I want to open my own daycare. The owner has known this for the last 9 months and was totally fine with it, but now ALL OF A SUDDEN... it's a conflict of interest and I might try to talk to the parents and take her children to my school. This is all because she wanted me to take over her school and after thoughtful consideration, I decided not to, so she used that against me. I left the school for 15 minutes and returned to get my belongings and she had someone there changing the locks on all of the doors (smh) as if I want to steal her stuff. again, smh. There is SO MUCH that I could expose about this school, but I'm bigger than that so I won't... Just know that my school will be open soon and I am very happy and excited!
