My son has been attending Delphi Academy for the past year, and I really love the approach that Delphi takes to education. They employ competency based learning, which means that each students understanding is brought to 100% on each level before they are passed on to the next grade level. They have small class sizes and really work very much one on one with each student to ensure they fully understand the subject they are studying. This is something that is very much missing in public school systems, I know because I went to public school! The teachers are the most dedicated group of people that I have ever seen, as they basically have to ensure that each and every student gets an A+ in everything they do, and if they don't, the student gets worked with on the parts of the subject they do not understand. THIS is the way that education should be! Not moving kids onto the next thing when they get a "C", because that essentially means that they only got 70% right, which means that there was a whole 30% that they did not understand. Instead of just moving on, the student gets worked with individually on the 30% they got wrong! I mean it is a no brainer! The other thing that I really like is they get the kids to think for themselves and to be solution oriented and to come to their own conclusions. This is interwoven throughout the program, and as a result creates students who think outside of the box, who think like leaders and not followers. The students are given responsibility as they start getting into Middle School and High School, and they love it! They get to help tutor the younger children, and run a student council and yearbook club. Delphi caters their programs to what career the kids want to peruse, and even set up apprenticeships outside of school in the career they would like to peruse. They also have set up a dual enrollment program with St. Pete College. All in all, I really feel like my child is not only receiving the most top notch education possible, I know that the teachers and staff will be encouraging to the activities and things that my son is interested in, and that they will empower him and not squash him. They offer fantastic Art Classes, teaching the kids how to use each and every medium, great music department, cooking classes, sports teams and have a fantastic dance teacher! My 2YO daughter started to attend the Summer Classes. At first I was very apprehensive. My daughter was at a wonderful daycare and I didn't want to change what was working for us but at the same time I felt my daughter was ready to take the next step. I wasn't wrong. From the first moment she stepped in the classroom she has been thriving. On her daily drop offs she runs towards her classroom and hugs her teacher. She has learned to say please, thank you, sorry, she shares and help others. She comes home with a larger vocabulary every day, words and phrases I don't even speak at home. For naps they condition the room with aromatherary and sound machine. Whenever I text her teacher I get a response back within a reasonable amount of time-same day,including evenings. I feel they cater to my needs as a mother (wanting to be informed, sending me pictures of her in action, etc), things a first time mother needs when she hands over her baby's care to others. She can count up to 10, knows her shapes, is learning to go potty, etc. I am a happy mother all around and my daughter is having a great time while learning. I am so glad I did enroll her there. I have been a student and/or parent at Delphi for many years. I have never seen a more caring and enthusiastic group of educators anywhere. The program itself is all-encompassing; math, reading, science, history, geography, etc. It's also very rich in experience activities: science fairs, history and geography fairs, field trips to the Florida Keys, Everglades, St. Augustine, white water rafting in North Carolina, etc. My own children have become very well-rounded people because of this program. They are aware of their surroundings and able to reason and formulate solutions to most any problem easily. This school is amazing! My son has been attending Delphi schools since starting kindergarten at Delphi Chicago. 3 years ago we moved to Clearwater and the primary reason was this school. The jump from good private schools for pre-school to the Chicago version of the school was incredible, and here in Clearwater, it has been that much better. I can't imagine taking my son (or daughter when she is old enough), to a different school. The school helps to create individuals that are able to do whatever they want in life. I went to this very Delphi when I was 14 years old ( 29 years ago). I loved it then as a student - the reading program alone brought so much to my education. The personalized structure was incredible and helped me in so many ways. I was struggling at many things before Delphi and my basic education was a shambles. It completely changed me. Now as a parent with my 6 year old absolutely thriving in every way I can only rave more. She's been at this school since she was 2 1/2. She reads far beyond her expected age level, strives to be great at everything she does and absolutely LOVES her school and he teachers. I have had my two daughters in the Delphi program since they started school, and I couldn't say enough positive about the program and the Faculty. If you value an educational program that not only delivers education, but also teaches ethics, integrity and leadership, then this is the right place for your child. Yes, the school does use the study techniques developed by L Ron Hubbard, founder of Scientology, but is by no means a religious school. In fact, the lessons taught here will enable your child to evaluate the world, including all religions, and make their own decisions about them. I attended this school from the age of ten to fourteen and really enjoyed my time there. I found the staff to be personable and caring; and they took an interest that I really understood my studies. The friends that I made there were all really good kids, very genuine, and many of them are still my friends today. I have found this school to have a very complete curriculum for young thriving minds. I have a 5 year that loves to go to school everyday. Her teachers are very involved and interested in the children's success. In addition they keep the learning of every subject very fun and exiting! This is how the Scientologists got into Clearwater in the first place: by misrepresenting who they were, they bought substantial amounts of real estate in downtown Clearwater and turned it into a creepy ghost town. read more

My son has been going to this school since he was 2. It is the best private school in the area and now they added a high school program so my son can stay all the way. The students are regularly scoring at least one grade level ahead of age and quite often two and three grade levels ahead in the CAT. read more
