    The ropes course
    Ashleigh F.

This park offers a variety of activities such as a ropes course, zip-lining and ax throwing. Prior to arriving we were able to fill out our liability forms online. The check in process and orientation for the ropes course was organized. We were walked through the process of putting on the equipment properly for safety. The staff working with us were very helpful and nice. They assisted us throughout the course without hesitation. The ropes course was challenging and fun.

So the girls did the ropes course and has a great time! Us adults hit up the axe throwing ... we made Reservations and changed them a few times due to the weather. Every Interaction with staff was awesome! They were all engaging, helpful and fun! Gold star to Hannah our axpwt

This was an absolute amazing experience and my 6 y.o. daughter loved it as well. The staff were super friendly and patient. Zoey the manager was very accommodating. We will absolutely be returning next time we go to Corolla, NC.

We visited the park with our grown son, who has autism. He panicked after the first station and the guide patiently helped him off. Then on his own, he decided he wanted to conquer his fear and this amazing woman gently eased him through the entire first level. What a boost this was to his self esteem.

Kids (11 and 15) had a blast!!! We started with the basic level and they were ready to upgrade within the first 30 minutes. They continued to climb and have fun until their time was up. We will add this to our must do list. The staff was also extremely friendly and helpful. Spouse also did the axe toss. He had a blast too!

Where Ninja Warriors spend their vacation. An incredible experience for our family thanks to the pleasant employees and the well maintained ropes course. The vigorous activity brought together our variety of ages, creating a positive memory for our vacation. The allotted time is the perfect amount to accomplish, or zip line out of, every set of obstacles. With the provided gloves and the option to hold the tether and zip line to the next platform, you can enjoy your day with peace of mind. The admirable customer service includes incredible camera quality for the few photo ops on the course, water fountains you can access throughout the adventure, ice cold hand towels at the end of your visit, and of course the awesome guides cheering you on!

This place deserves every one of its (5) stars. It was an incredible experience. We drove by it and called in advance of our visit and they were full of useful information to help us gauge the experience for our group. Age range 5 to 45. We made a reservation for (12) people. I recommend a reservation. You drive up and it just looks amazing. Such a great looking course. Upon arrival the waiver process was simple and well thought out. The staff had so much great information to again help us decide if we wanted to complete just the lower level, or pay more for higher levels. We started on the lower as the upgrade is so easy should you decide midway through. The super professional staff geared up the kids and then walked the adults through their own process into harness, helmets and gloves. All clean and well organized upon arrival. We went to ground school before we were invited to hit up The Tower. Ground school took us through the rules. So clearly outlined again for all ages. Then we were off. I'll admit, my partner in crime was a nervous 5 year old. Only one person is allowed on an obstacle at a time so when she went first, there was no turning back. I'll also admit that I couldn't coach her through and she was halfway out. Not ideal as a mom. I had no worries though. One of the guides named Hope stepped right in and asked my daughter if she needed help and my daughter said yes and Hope skillfully and quickly went out to meet her and help her through the first obstacle. It would not be an over statement to say that after that my daughter (5 years old) was able to conquer the entire lower level on her own. Zip lining and climbing and laughing and having the best time. My son and I upgraded and progressed to level two and three. Definitely progressively more challenging but the staff was there in sight at all times to offer support and guidance and potentially a rescue if needed. They were kind and caring and so great. It's not cheap but we had an incredible 2 hours of climbing. Great bonding for our 12 person group and such confidence building for all of us. Would go again in a heartbeat!

5 stars all the way! Staff was very friendly and helpful and the course was crazy fun for our kids. You can sign up for the lower level and then upgrade if you want. The lower course was a cake walk for our 8 year old twins and my 8 year old niece and the second and third levels were more challenging. My 5 year old nephew broke into tears on the first level but there were other kids his age doing it. Check out the height requirements on line before you go. We noticed that they rent closed toe shoes if you aren't prepared. Many adults were also participating (some with kids because their children were short and some in groups of adults). I recommend an early time slot because it was pretty hot. The ice cold spa towels are a welcome ending. Our only regret is that we didn't discover early in the week because you can do a week pass for $100 which would have been a very fun hour or two for a few days. The bookings give you two hours on the course which is more than enough time. My kids said it was their favorite activity and it blew my mind how fearless they were. I particularly recommend for 8 years old and up but if my kids were younger and wanted to try, I would let them. The whole experience felt very safe.

Ask the Community - Corolla Adventure Park

Is it possible to do the ropes without having to go across any zip lines? My 9 year old loves climbing around but refuses to do a zip line after an accident on a backyard zip line (despite our explanation of how different this would be).

Hey Brittany - Thanks for reaching out and that is a great question! The answer is YES! :). All of the zip lines on our course are an optional fork in the trail and there is no point where you are required to do one.

It's one big colorful party! At the end of the course it's one huge after party! They'll have contests, they'll throw color packets at you to throw on your friends, and tons of music to dance your heart out. We ended up with color in my mouth, and up my nose. We got there 20 minutes before our 10 heat, but we went ahead with everyone else. The event seemed a bit disorganized. When we got to where the crowd was nobody could tell us where we were supposed to go for the main event and it was the first time my husband and I participated. During the race they ran out of water bottles on the course and the course was scattered with plastic bottles. It was a bit disappointing considering the price that we paid for our tickets, but we took it in stride. If you want water along the course please being your own just to be safe. During the after party they were dumping gel buckets on people and we wanted to participate. We stood in line for awhile, but nobody told people that we needed tickets for it. At the after party they gave us a granola bar and bottled water. It was a lot of fun with people throwing color packets everywhere, loud music, contests, and dancing. I'd love to attend an event again, but at the moment I'm unsure.

This time was for an event being held in a large meeting room off the lobby. The location is on the portion of Newtown Road where the road turns east & the remainder is called Diamond Springs Road. This portion of the road actually runs between Haygood Road and that split. On the campus of buildings are also two elementary schools. The land, previously a farm, was donated to the city by the Williams Family, There are definite positives & negatives to the indoor pool. It appeared from my viewpoint to be slightly smaller than that of Bayside Rec Center. The walking lanes are fantastic for those who enjoy or need that experience for therapeutic reasons. But it does take away from the pool space for those who go to swim or just splash. There are outside activities that aren't available at Bayside. A large connected & fenced splash area was great for younger kids running through the water on a hot day. It gave the feel of a series of stationary underground sprinklers. I viewed an enclosed skate board ramp. Adjacent to that was something being used that was below ground level. I'm not sure what type of activity was involved. I didn't venture further down the meeting room hall. But the large glass window room in which my event was held was great & very accessible. One big flaw was the lack of handicapped parking spaces. I only saw four & had to park in hinterlands in terrible heat. This Rec Center is a great addition to this part of Bayside. It's walking distance from a lot of condo's & apartments. So kids can get there very easily in the summer. The Williams family's land donation is being put to good use.

To be perfectly honest, I had no idea this rec center even existed, but I'm glad that I know about it. The rec center has all of the features of the other local rec centers - pool, open gym, weight room, cardio machines, indoor track, clean (very important) locker rooms, and free (and plentiful) lockers. Extra points for the showers in the locker room because each shower has an additional partition so one can shower in one partition and change in the other. The weight room is pretty comparable to a smaller gym's, but the center has all the equipment that one would need for a general workout. Actually, I think this center's weight "room" (or should I say weight open space) is a bit larger than a couple of the other VB rec centers. I noticed this rec center had a few bench presses and deadlift squat apparatuses. This is in contrast to my regular rec center, which has only one of each. I really enjoyed that the rec center has plenty of large windows so the weight room and indoor track receive plenty of natural sunlight, which leads to a cheerful workout . . . at least for me. The staff was pretty much nice and very helpful in providing directions to different parts of the gym. While this rec center is somewhat out of the way for me, I definitely will visit when my local recenter is closed.
