We had a party of 9, 7 of us parasailing and 2 observers. Our youngest parasailer was 8 but our 4 year old observer will fly next year! I was a little hesitant about how scary parasailing would be for the littles but it was a calm take off and return, the time up there was peaceful. Captain Pierre gives you the option of dipping your feet in (or more!) and their precision is on point! Shipmate Hailey takes all the photos and equips you with the go pro (worth the splurge!) and they capture the greatest moments. These memories will last a lifetime time! North Beach Water Sports did not disappoint. Our family booked a 15 passenger pontoon boat during the evening. We did the Evening Cruise out on the bay. We got there as instructed approximately thirty minutes before our departure time so that we can get everyone fitted with life jackets and proper instruction on how to operate the vessel out in the bay. The team was very fun to work with informative so that we would be as safe as we could. We set sail out to "Monkey Island" so that we can cruise around and have some dinner while watching the sunset. During our trip out to "Monkey Island" we past the lighthouse which was awesome. We anchored about 1/4 mile away and watch all the birds come in and off the island while admiring the sunset. The two hours that we booked were just enough. Highly recommend this business! read more

My extended family and I went to North Beach Watersports during our 4th of July vacation to OBX to rent jet skis. The location was beautiful- right on Currituck Sound and only steps from our rental house. The girls at the check in counter were friendly and bubbly. There isn't much to the facility itself beyond a little check in booth and a long dock with a gazebo at the end to wait to jet ski. The staff was super friendly, knowledgeable, & physically fit- something you're hoping for when it comes to the team of people who will be monitoring you and potentially saving one's life. The instructors were very clear with the rules and helped some of our first-time jet skiiers in the party learn to operate the jet skis with ease. They have people helping you out on the water, ensuring you don't go past the buoys. It's easy to get lost out in the sound, and the workers are very quick to politely guide you back to the right area. Everyone in our party had a wonderful time on their newer jet skis. The only qualm I have was my particular jet ski had a HEAVY left lean, which made it impossible to go past 45 mph. I've ridden on many jet skis in my life, and none have ever had such a discrepancy. I still very much enjoyed my time, and no one else in my party had such an issue. It must have been an unfortunate one-off. For the cost and time out there, (approx $90/hour), it was well worth the money and time. An hour was more than enough time to enjoy the experience with 2 people on the jet ski. We were able to split our time so one of us drove half the time and the other rode on back, then switched. Currituck Sound is deep enough to be enjoyable, but if you fall off or switch places, you can touch the sand with your toes. That makes it SO much easier to climb back on board. HIGHLY recommend North Beach Watersports for your jetski rental place. read more

I've never been jet skiing before so while on vacation this week we decided when in Rome. I looked up close places to rent jet skis and found this place. There are no prices listed online so you have to call to check and book. They told us it's 114each per hour or 84 for half hour. We decided go big or go home and each got a full hour for the next morning. We arrived early and they were able to let us get in the water early. The safety training is easy enough and the staff was very nice. We had a blast overall. It was a bit pricey so I'm going with a solid 4 stars. read more

We used them to go Parasailing. We had 2 teenage boys who never had done it before. The captain and mate (Todd And Tyler?) were great. Loved all the jokes about broken ropes and fly away parachutes. They were great with the other group of nervous flyers as well. They also do kayaks and just skis although we didn't use them. read more

Great experience from beginning to end. We are family of 5 with 3 boys, ages 16, 14, 12. We booked 2 one hour jet skis and the 800 ft parasailing for the three of them. My children have no previous experience. The staff were friendly, accessible, knowledgeable, thorough, efficient, and safety driven. Look for co-owner Jamie, but the entire team is engaged and on it. Staying in Corolla for a week. Called North Beach Water Sports to reserve 2 Wave Runners. From accommodating a schedule change due to weather, to actually dealing with our rentals in the rain, the entire staff was great! Equipment was top notch. Great service all around! We spent the morning here and it was a blast. We started off with parasailing. The staff at the front desk was friendly and super helpful. They had T-shirts too. The guy brought us out on his boat after loading everyone on. He took us out to another boat where we switched. On the new boat, we were greeted by a friendly girl named Victoria. She had the other group and my friends go first. You start with a harness thing being put on you, almost like a diaper. We sat down on the back of the boat and Captain Arnie started moving which made us rise. We flew around the sound and had a great time. Then we got back on the boat, got to the other boat, said goodbye to Victoria, and left to go back to shore. We then hopped on jet skis and whipped around the sound for 1 hour. Although the water was choppy, it was still a great time. A tip for anyone visiting: they give a discount if you pay in cash That was spectacular!! read more

We came yesterday and rented a single kayak and a double for 3 people total. The people running the stand out front and helping us into the kayak were patient and friendly. We had such a good time that we came back today and rented a single kayak and a SUP. Exactly the same experience with different staff. The prices were affordable and we actually walked from our beach house to this location. Northbeach Water Sports Is fantastic. First of all, the staff is very professional and kind. We booked parasailing, but due to high winds, we were postponed. They called and let us know, and they worked to find a time we could go. We decided to rent a pontoon boat also. The Pontoon boat rental was wonderful. The staff showed us how to use the boat. And they were very nice. Due to storms, we couldn't parasail a second time, but they allowed us to rent the boat longer. This company works with you, and they are very, very nice people. Our paddle boarding started late because other guest fell asleep on their boards, but the staff was nice enough to let us start our hour once they arrived back. My biggest issue was that we had several new paddle boards and this place doesn't measure and adjust your paddle, doesn't tell you how you to get up, how to hold the paddle, which direction it goes, etc. There is no instruction whatsoever, which would help people grasp the sport and enjoy their money and time more. This is the first place I've ever been to where they don't give any advice. Also just an FYI - the water is only 5 feet deep and super choppy. read more

I came here for my Bachelorette party and had such a blast! We paid for 4 hours and did so much! They took us out on the water where we saw dolphins, went tubing, and went on the banana boat. Todd was our captain and was super accommodating, very knowledgeable about the area and made sure we were all having a great time. I can't wait for my next trip to OBX so we can go back. We had an enjoyable adventure parasailing around the sound. Three of us went so they did two flights and one got to ride a second time for free! The staff was friendly and they helped make it fun. The only place they advertise their $10 credit card fee (they like to call it a cash discount, possibly for legal reasons) is at the sign on the booth when you arrive. They don't show it on their website or tell you on the phone if you don't think to ask. A 3% credit card fee makes sense. $10 is crazy unless you're paying at least $300 total. Bring cash! read more

Mr Jeff - We tipped your crew out of courteousness, but your behavior towards us was totally disrespectful. I hope all the new customers read these reviews. The boat was handed over to us at 5:53 PM and two of your crew at the dock specifically apologized for the delay for not having the boats ready on time. They were gentle enough to give us time to return by 8:00 PM. Yes we later saw 4 missed calls (not 7!!), but am wondering how can one hear the cell phone ringing when it is put away to avoid it from getting wet! Again, Mr Jeff - it is not the boat ride that pissed us off, it was your absolutely rude behavior which is making me write this review. Should you have had the patience to stand to discuss with us what went thru, we would have been more than happy to pay you the extra fines. Sorry to say this, but the act you are showing now is purely stealing our money! read more

Had a great experience here renting SUP paddle boards and kayaks with our 2 kids this week. We called and reserved before heading up to the shop. It's super easy to find with plenty of parking. We got a quick overview of what to expect and where to go by a very friendly employee. There's a big area to take out boards and kayaks so you can definitely fill and hour (probably not much more). My 10 year old easily mastered SUP paddle boarding. My husband and 7 year old took out a kayak. Then we switched and my 7 year old tried the SUP and definitely could do it. Owner was a complete jerk. We rented a pontoon boat and when we got there, we were told we couldn't leave the area and couldn't pick up others, they had to load at the place. However they allow you to jump on and off. When I ordered it, I specifically asked if we could leave the area. The captain told us to get off his boat in a nasty manor. My family rented a banana boat for an hour on the currituck sound. It was a blast! We were exhausted at the end of the hour. The captain provided refreshments half way through and pictures were taken throughout the ride ($35 for the sd card with around 400 + pix). It is pricey $200, but we felt it was worth it. read more
