Take my 5 stars!…read more Very first time coming here. I had been wanting to bring my 3 kids here for a long time. So we finally went yesterday. Our visit was during their Glow in the Park event. It delivered beyond what I could have imagined. We purchased tickets and completed waivers online. So when we got there we parked and walked right in to the store/registration area. The rep at the counter was super nice and helpful. I was the only one who didn't do a waiver online so I had to do it on the computer when I got there. Don't worry, super simple and quick. If you didn't bring gloves, you can purchase some here. We didn't bring or buy gloves and our hands weren't too rough at the end of the night. After checking in, we were directed to the pre-climb meeting area. Here we watched a short video which was very informative and we're instructed on how to put on our climbing rigs and how to operate the equipment when climbing. One of the amazing parts about this is that they made the instructions very simple and easy to understand. Plus, after they show you how to use the equipment and put on the climbing rig, they take you to a small practice area where you get to tryout the operations you'll be doing once you're up in the trees. There's so much more I can say but don't want to be too long winded! After directions, instructions, and practice, you're ready to climb! So you head on over to the central platform! This is where every climb begins (the engineering and design of this park is remarkable). There are varying levels of difficulty for the climbs ranging from purple (young kids mainly) all the way up to double black diamond. Because we had children with us, we weren't able to go past blue difficult (even though blue had some questionable and pretty difficult obstacles lol). Not only were the climbs long in duration (some up to an hour long) but they included amazing obstacles and zip lines! The children absolutely loved it. I believe, I think, we were only supposed to be climbing for an hour but somehow we ended up climbing for 3! Not sure if this was because the park wasn't that busy or what, but thank you!!! One of the things I loved about this place is that the employees didn't smother you with over-supervision or excessive rules. They taught you what you needed to know and let you go! Love that and thank you! If you're looking for a place to get your kids outside, get them some exercise, build character through navigating obstacles, overcoming fear and challenges, fun lights in the trees at dark!, this is the place! We're definitely considering the season pass! Sorry, no pics because it wasn't a great place to have a phone on you.

They also have great recommendations for which course to do next. I did have to use one of the emergency exits in one of the courses and they didn't make me feel like a failure. They validated that it was an actual hard course and I made the right choice. I just love coming here.

Even the most basic obstacles are at least a story off the ground so know that going in. My 8-year-old thought it was such fun but I must say some of the balance obstacles w no edge got me spooked. You cannot pass ppl in front of you so watch who is ahead of you. If slow and scared, be prepared to hold on an obstacle.

From the minute you walk in the door you're taken care of by the amazing team. Everyone was kind and patient with the younger members of our group. The course was awesome. Levels 1 was easy. 2&3 were challenging. 4 was extremely tough. Decent price overall, Photo opportunities for the family, snacks, beer and ice cream for afterward. Do yourself a favor and go here. You won't regret it.

Watching people bounce off each other and roll around is likely one of the top 10 things I find funniest in the entire world. You will need to tie your shoes on extra tight, and by shoes I mean wear tennis shoes. Running through the mud causes some sort of alien vacuum to occur and many people fell victim to it during the race; shoes were getting sucked off of people's feet left and right. It was like running through a shoe graveyard. I will say, the smell of the mud was pretty appalling, however, I would definitely do it again. We were covered from head to toe in mud. Though, I tried to laugh and speak intelligently while running the race by quickly closing my mouth, mud and grime still crept its way into my pearly whites and not to mention my my nose, ears, and eyes. There are pits of mud one must crawl or wade through, slides, monkey bars, ropes, you name it, they have it. (Ultimately, if you like being clean and think you can complete the race without ending it looking like a piggy, you are wrong and you should not do this. Period). This year DD is at it again September 19, 2015. Be there - try something new! It's a great time.

Second year in a row where we met staff member Ben, who watched out for us and encouraged us on all the obstacles. Makes the experience so much better. (Thanks Ben!) This is the one activity in Nags Head we'll be sure to do every year. Try it out!!!

If you are too scared to go down the zip line you have to back through the course if there's ppl behind you they also have to go back. If you bring kids you have to do the course and zip line or the kids can't. But only one person at a time can go so does it really matter... my son (13 yrs old) had ran ahead and completed to courses before I even did one. They made him stop to wait for me. I appreciated that. But mid way I wanted to back out of the zip line they told me my son wouldn't be able to continue the courses if I did. Some of the staff were annoyed with basic questions like do you have a "trash can "or "do you have smaller gloves" (that are mandatory to wear) but the girl we had was amazing. She was great my son's leg had gotten stuck in a ring on one of the courses she climbed up stupid fast like a spider monkey to help him. But over all it was great and so much fun. It was a complete work out down the muscles in my fingers that I didn't even know we had. I also recommend getting the cell phone holder thing and the fingerless gloves

The safety system in place is very effective and provides an almost zero chance of falling. I would recommend buying the gloves in the office before you start or bring your own the guide wires and ropes will eat at your hands. We ran through the three biggest courses. They also have a fourth course for younger children.
